- In case of a cancellation due to the poor weather conditions you will receive a full refund.

This is my first time in a hot air balloon, and considering I am not a fan of heights, this was a breathtaking, must-do experience!
The whole package was very well organised and very fun. Pick-up was prompt, taking us to their office/briefing room where they provide us the ticket (which says who will be our pilot) and they give us time for a light breakfast consisting of breads, fruits and coffee/tea. While having our food, they keep us updated with the weather, how we will proceed to the launch site.
Once we took the busses (each assigned to the respective pilots), they took us to the launch site where you can see all the balloons getting prepped for launch. Our pilot, Mustafa, was professional and entertaining while he gave us a safety briefing before launch.
The flight itself was a surreal experience. You get to experience the beauty of the area from an ariel perspective and with the many balloons around you at the same time, it was stunning. The basket itself was quite secure and the flight was very smooth so I didn't feel as scared of the height as I thought I would be. The flight lasted for about an hour and landing was smooth.
After the flight they provided us with champagne (or juice) and a medal with a certificate which was a fun touch.
Transportation back to the hotel was provided after.
Overall, from start to finish, it was well organised, engaging, fun and worth doing!

Pickup from Goreme hotel was shortly before 6am followed by a light pastry/fruit breakfast. We were then driven out to watch the balloons inflate. We took off later than most balloons so had an opportunity to take a picture of the mass ascension from the ground before our flight. There were sixteen people on our flight, but it didn't feel overly crowded. Our pilot, Faith, did an excellent job of rotating the basket so everyone had good views and took us both higher than other balloons as well as very low over Goreme and some chimneys. Back to hotel just before 9am in time for day tour departure. Beautiful views, fantastic experience, worth the price!

Gorkhan was an amazing pilot!! We caught great slow wind, traveled up and down some of the key valleys in Cappadocia and thoroughly enjoyed our flight while also feeling super safe!! Highly recommend Butterfly Balloons - they were super professional.

We had an amazing time with Butterfly Balloons. The entire operation was extremely professional and well run. Our pilot, Fetih, was amazing. He was a great pilot, but also very witty, funny, and personable. Butterfly Balloons also only flies with 16 people in the balloon, where as most other companies fly with 20 or 24. I would 100% recommend this activity and this company!

What a cool experience! We were in great hands with our pilot Ali Riza, and it sounds like we were lucky to get up this time of year at all due to the weather. We cruised quite far and the coordination between the pilots and the ground team was amazing to witness. The whole crew was amazingly professional, kind, and very skilled. I felt safe and taken care of. I only gave 4 stars because for quite a bit if money (about $650 for 2 people in spring 2023) the breakfast was fairly lackluster and I would have liked a little more explanation of what we were seeing from the air. Butterfly balloons definitely knows what they are doing and I would recommend them for hot air ballooning in the area if it's a must do for you!

It was beyond words to ride the hot air balloons. The tour always tried to let everyone see all angles of the spectacular views so they constantly revolve in 360 degree in slow motion. Such an unforgettable experience!

Booked this activity way beforehand, and we were really happy that we managed to get up the hot air balloon. As the rides were cancelled for the past few days.
Given 4 stars, as find it difficult to contact the tour operator during the activity day, and there were no texts or calls by the tour operator a day prior to our activity, and on the day itself, we called the operator to clarify our pickup time, which was a little worrying as there was no prior communication beforehand.

This experience was worth every cent! Our balloon captain, Mehmet, made us feel completely safe while still having plenty of fun in the air. There was not a bad seat in the basket and the views were breathtaking. You will miss out if you visit Cappadocia and don’t participate in the balloon flight.

A magical experience! Picked up and was provided with breakfast first. Then drove us down to the site. It was a 1 hour experience on the hot air ballon. Ended the morning with drinks, certificate and a medal!

We are very sorry you did not get to fly with us. It was not our decision to cancel the flight, ALL flights were canceled by the Civil Aviation due to weather conditions. When flights are pre canceled by the Civil Aviation we contact all our customers informing them of the cancellation. Unfortunately we were pre booked for the following day, which our reservation staff informed you and said that we were starting your refund process through Viator straight away. As the flight cancellation was out of our control, we would hope this review does not reflect the quality of our service. We hope you can return in the future to fly with us and experience our services ... we are sure then you will revise your review!

We had an AMAZING time on the hot air balloon! Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we were happy to fly on our last day after being cancelled the first 3 days due to weather. Our pilot, Ziya, was friendly and professional. Butterfly balloons' process was well-organized and efficient as well. They arrived on time to our hotel for pick-up and took us to their HQ for check-in and breakfast, then were assigned groups by pilot and driven to our balloon. The flight was incredibly beautiful with unforgettable views and we felt safe. After the flight, they gave us champagne and medals and even arranged a private ride back to our hotel so we could make our airplane home. Highly recommend the balloon flight and Butterfly Balloons to anyone!

The whole experience was very enjoyable. They pick you up from the hotel, breakfast is provided and then you head towards the ballon sites. The weather played along and the pilot gave a soft and exciting ride while explaining a little bit of how the balloon works. Everything was nice and pleasant.

There are many choices of operators. We choose Butterfly because they were mentioned in our guide book (Lonely Planet), and because the priced was in line without unnecessary extras.
The balloon ride was amazing, though I expect it was for all those in any of the other almost 100 balloons in the air. The pilot seemed competent and did not take any unnecessary risks.
If there is a complaint, is one of too much service. They insisted on picking us up at our hotel, and there then was a 30 minute wait at their offices for all the passengers to be collected. We would have preferred to sleep 20 minutes longer and drive there ourselves. But ultimately we may have saved time, we were also the first to be dropped back off.

Amazing experience. Our pilot was Ziya made us feel safe and comfortable, and he has many years of experience. I absolutely recommend. A visit to Cappadocia is not complete with this experience. Staff at Butterfly is highly professional and responsible, and everything went smooth from the minute of booking to our drop off at the hotel.
