Absolutely loved it. The information was amazing the knowledge about the books and the author was very cool. Car was comfortable. I really felt like I learnt about Botswana and the life here and loved it.

Andy was a very pleasant guy who really knew his stuff. As well as taking us around town to the places mentioned in the books he also filled us in on the history of the country and lots of information about the Botswana way of life. Tea at the President hotel was a great chance to really follow in the footsteps of Mma Ramotswe and feel we had immersed ourselves in my favorite books! Thanks Andy for a great tour which was personal and comfortable.

You would need to have read the books to get the most out of this tour, but you learn a lot about Botswana’s eventful history along the way. Our guide Andy was very knowledgeable, and the tour combined the nostalgia of the books with a flavour of modern-day Gaborone. Highlights included the Three Dikgosi monument, a visit to Zebra Way, and the real-life inspiration for Speedy Motors. We even saw a tiny white van on the way! Highly recommended for fans of the books who want to find out more about the inspiration for the characters and stories, as well as Botswana’s rich heritage. Top marks to Andy.

Thoroughly enjoyable and Andy explained a lot of Botswana history as well. We saw all the literary locations we wanted to and had tea at the President Hotel. Brilliant.

This experience was excellent. It brought the places in the stories to life and made me enjoy them all over again. I was also given the history of Botswana, lots of local insight and I was introduced to local food and craft producers. An excellent day out. My guide was exceptional in every way.

We had an amazing time! Andy’s tour was above and beyond what we imagined it would be. Andy was so fun to talk with about life in Botswana in general, and birds! and of course the Mma Ramotswe books - you could tell he was really into the books and sharing information about the people and places the stories were based on. Thank you so much Andy! Your tour really was a great way to experience Gaborone and get a behind the scenes look at the inspiration for the books.

We were picked up from our hotel and taken on our Ladies’ Detective tour in a very comfortable car. The tour guides were nice friendly people who had a good knowledge of the subject. They seemed to know how best to treat their guests. It was a good tour
