The best tour to get to know the people and the culture

Kathleen_C, Mar 2026
Otto was a fantastic tour guide. She was very engaging. She had many wonderful stories that brought the culture and the people to life. Having tea in the home of one of the village residents made the experience very personable. This was a most memorable experience.

This was a lovely tour,...

This was a lovely tour, and I enjoyed my morning with tour guide Otto. We had some great conversations about village life, spiritual beliefs and practices, and wedding ceremonies. We took a nice walk around a village neighbourhood while the village lady was making us tea, and Otto pointed out several herbs that were historically (and some that still are) used for healing and medicine. It was a great tour for getting a peek into the day-to-day of village life.

Kudos to Otto - wonderful tour!

Otto is an excellent tour guide and was well willing to accommodate our tight schedule - we thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend!

Excellent more informal tour with authentic interactions

Had a great time on this tour last year. Door-to-door service form Gaborone was so convenient. I enjoyed chatting with the guide en route. The guide catered the tour a bit to my interests- I’m a doctor and had a wonderful time talking with a local medicine man and learning about Dr. Merriweather. We even stopped at a shop on the way home to pick up a local beverage one of the local talked about! Overall wonderful experience. I did it as a lone female and felt very safe throughout the day.
