Our Mount Fuji - Kawaguchiko tour with Taka was one of the highlights of our trip. Taka was flexible with timing and destinations while providing a fun-filled adventure full of his knowledge and passion for the area. Highly recommend that you add this tour if you are staying in the area and want to add some hidden treasures to your itinerary, along with the more traditional touristy things you will be doing there on your own.

Our original Mount Fuji tour, which we’d booked about six months in advance, was unexpectedly cancelled — and I didn’t realize it until the day before. In a bit of a panic, I started searching for a last-minute alternative… and that’s how we found Taka. What an incredible stroke of luck!
Taka picked up our group of six adults around 8 AM and comfortably fit all of us into his van for a full-day “hidden gems” tour around Mount Fuji. The weather couldn’t have been better — clear skies and stunning views from every angle. Taka was friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. He shared personal stories and fascinating insights about life in Japan, and he took amazing photos of us throughout the day.
We loved the experience so much that we extended the tour by two extra hours. What started as a stressful scramble turned into one of the highlights of our trip. We couldn’t recommend Taka enough!

My family experienced the most magical time exploring a centuries old Shrine, pristine lakes, lava caves, ancient forests, stunning waterfalls, and absolute breathtaking views of Mt Fuji and surrounding area.

Very interesting tour around the surrounding area. The views were spectacular and our guide was extremely knowledgeable.
This was by far our favorite day of all our 2-weeks trip to Japan! Taka was absolutely amazing and even helped my boyfriend (now fiancé) with his proposal, by going to an amazing place with a clear view of Fujisan and filming everything in this unique moment.
He explained the history of Fuji, the different gods and shrines in the region, and even brought us to Aokigahara forest to see unique natural wonders. He told us some interesting facts and customs about Japanese culture, Shintoism and Buddhism, we learned so much with him!
One more thing: while the weather forecast might look like it’s going to be raining or unclear, don’t lose hope because it literally can change in a minute and you’ll end up seeing the most beautiful views of Fujisan and the 5 lakes.
Taka knows the region by heart and will find ways to make it worth your time no matter the weather, and will bring you off the beaten tracks.

This tour was a very good introduction to the Kawaguchiko and Mt Fuji area. Taka is very knowledgeable, his English is very good and he is a good guide. His vehicle is very comfortable and we got to see and learn about areas all around Mt Fuji. I would definitely recommend this tour. We had a great time.

It was my parents’ first time going to Japan and my mom wanted to see Mt. Fuji. We happened to find a tour with Taka and from when I booked the tour up until the day of, Taka was very responsive, understanding, and accommodating. We traveled with 5 adults and an infant and Taka provided a car seat for us and stopped when needed to change or feed the baby. He was very knowledgeable and provided some facts that we didn’t know about Japan and Fujikawaguchiko. We had a great time on the tour and were lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji even though it was a windy and cloudy day!
We had a wonderful time on our tour with Taka. He took us to various locations around the Kawaguchiko area which were lovely and interesting, and not jammed packed with other tourists. We took a walk to a secluded waterfall and a short hike though an untouched forest. Would definitely recommend a tour with him and will do another with him when in the area again.
This tour was absolutely incredible and Taka was the best guide ever! Taka showed us all the best and hidden gems around Mt. Fuji. It was amazing to see his love for Mt. Fuji and the surrounding areas, which made this tour even more special and memorable. Taka also took time to help us with transportation recommendations and worked with us when we had a transportation mishap that caused a slight delay to our tour's start time. This was an amazing tour. Taka-san was the perfect combination of friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and enthusiastic. He took us to places we never would have found on our own, and each of them was facinating - and not touristy (a first for our Japan trip). This was such a brilliant way to get the best out of a trip to Kawaguchico. We beat the crowds to go to some seriously beautiful places, we had loads of photo opportunities, and there was a real focus on nature and appreciating the sights. Taka was a beautiful human being, patient, friendly, respectful and I loved how much he loves Fuji in all it's glory. The best holiday guide we have ever had. 100% recommended.
An amazing tour that goes to less touristy yet very beautiful places. Picking up and dropping off from the hotel is very convenient.
Taka is an amazing guide who loves Mt Fuji and will not only explain everything to you but also go out of his way to help. We mentioned we were having issues booking a bus ticket and he offered to help and call the ticket office for us.
Recommend getting the additional hour add-on to spend more time exploring the region.

Unfortunately Fuji San was in hiding the day I went, but I was still met by Taka on time and we went to all the least visited places. If you enjoy nature I think you will really like this tour. Please wear comfy nonslip shoes. You will be doing some light hiking and climbing. I climbed down into a cave even though I wasn’t sure I could, but it was a great experience!

The hidden gem stops and sites were wonderful! I prefer solitude in nature instead of the tourist attractions with a bunch of people.

Conversing with guide about Mt. Fuji past history and present despite the rain downpour and thunder. It’s a good way to avoid the crowd.
