If you are looking for an excuse to visit another Country from Iguaçu then this is a good way to do it. The Saltos Monday are actually amazing and deserve a visit if you are in the area. Prepare for long wait at the border crossing but it is what it is - take a book.

An early start but we made it through the border in quick time! Vito was an excellent driver. The dam was interesting & the falls lovely. Nice veggie too
cherrie_d, Mar 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable. Be prepared for a wait at the border, hopefully the new bridge will reduce the wait.

This was a really fun small group tour! Bruna is super friendly and knowledgeable and it was great to see Paraguay if only for a few hours. The museum was closed so we visited an animal sanctuary instead which aligned more with my interests anyway. We also made a short stop at a small shop selling homemade goods like yogurt, breads and cookies and I had one of the best empanadas of my life. No real wait times crossing the border in either direction. Comfortable transportation and skilled driver.

This was an excellent day trip and we were really impressed with Bruna! The communication was excellent throughout, convenient pick up and drop off, and she is a wealth of information on the geography, biology, and history of the region. Anyone booking should be aware that you may get stuck in a long border queue getting into Paraguay, but she kept us entertained and educated throughout so it passed very quickly! The tour takes you to varied places west of the border, enough to provide a good flavour of the country and see how different it feels from Brazil, so it’s well worth the trip.

Whilst in Iguacu Falls, we thought it would be fun to hop over the border to Paraguay, but wanted to avoid the crazy shopping of Ciudad del Este. We found this tour online and weren't really sure what to expect, but it was fantastic and exceeded our expectations.
The communication from our tour guide, Bruna, was excellent, and we were picked up from our hotel at 7am to beat the queues getting across the bridge to Paraguay.
After that we headed slightly north to do a tour of the Itaipu Dam, an enormous hydro power scheme, the second largest in the world. The tour was very interesting, both to see the immense size of the dam and power station, but also to understand the history of how it came about.
After that we went to the Tekotopa wildlife centre, which we weren't expecting. It had recently opened, and was a highlight of the day. The centre was extremely professional and well run, and we saw puma, jaguar, toucan, blue macaw, tapir, emu and loads of other wildlife. You could see the wildlife close up and get great photos, and our guide was very knowledgeable in explaining about what we were seeing.
After that it was off to the Saltos del Monday waterfalls, which were very impressive. (a bit overshadowed by their proximity to Iguacu, but if it wasn't for that these falls would be a huge attraction).
Lastly, we went to the Tres Fronteras lookout, where you can stand in Paraguay and see both Brazil and Argentina just across the river, then back to our hotel. (including an additional stop that we asked for on the way, for souvenirs) .
Bruna was an excellent guide, the van we travelled in was spacious and modern and there was a driver as well as a guide.
We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour.

We had a really good day in Paraguay. This was a really good trip. The other person on our tour overslept, so we ended up with a private tour which was nice. Bruna was really nice and enthusiastic. She was a really good tour guide and told us a lot about Paraguay. The queue getting over the bridge looked really long, but it did go faster than we expected it to.
The whole day was really interesting. We learnt a lot about the history of Paraguay, and the dam was really interesting and the waterfall was very beautiful and had lots of lovely butterflies. Bruna took us to a vegetarian restaurant that was able to cater for my husband who is gluten-free. The meal was filling for a very good price. The queue on the way back was longer maybe about 45 minutes but we think that is probably just part of the experience. overall a really great day and if you have extra time in Iguazu, this is a great way to experience a new country. Bruna also bought us some of the matte tea to try which was great because we saw lots of people drinking it and we wouldn’t have known what it was. Thank you for a great day.

The only thing I didn’t like was long wait in crossing the border and coming back.
We rally loved the whole tour of power plant, jaguar sanctuary and the 3 border landmark Paraguay side. Our guide Diego was excellent and our driver was both great and helpful. We tried Paraguayan lunch which was excellent. If you are vegan you would have loved it if not vegan then you may not like it. Since we already visited Iguazu falls, Saltos Monday gave a different perspective. Since part of bucket list is visiting great waterfalls so I will count Saltos Monday falls must see. Our ride was very comfortable the tour operators really planned it well.
Since I travel cashless, I always feel bad as I am not able to give tip for excellent service received. But this day and age many folks travel cashless just having peace of mind. Anyhow that is why I want to provide excellent review, if you visit Iguazu falls, trip to Saltos Monday is a must.

I have taken many tours similar to this type of tour and for the price it completely missed the mark. Yes, the border crossing can be challenging from a time perspective, but that should be accounted for. Aggravated by waiting for late customers. Never got to museum, never told why not. If you wanted to learn more about history, you had to ask. Not much communication about what is next. Tour of dam was just another over 2 hour wait since we missed booked time and it is all in Spanish, which I understand, but just a drive around and look out the window. No info about it in English other than the movie at the beginning. Hard braking by driver made it uncomfortable throughout the day. Overpriced for what we got to see and learn. I booked this because of the positive reviews ...needless to say this was a big let down. Spent over 5.5 hours just waiting.

Hello Kristen, So sod to hear that you did not get what to expected on this trip.
The main goal of this activity is to connect travelers with the history and culture of Paraguay and show you some spots that most part of travelers do not visit on the three border area.
The border is always a mystery, there is some days with no line and some days that takes a little bit longer and this is the perfect time for the guide to start telling you some history and introduce you to terere, an important part of the Paraguayan culture. Unfortunately on this day, because of the lines to cross the border we missed the tour to the dam on the time schedule and because of this we lose the opportunity to visit the museum that is usually our last stop on the way back to brasil. We add a stop to the three landmark in stead to give you a perspective of the area. So sorry that guide was not clear about this. The tour in the Dam is in Spanish and we translate this information to travelers during this activity, this is why the guide join the tour to the dam with you.
We are checking about this information that you did not get what you expected on the history of paraguay with our guide cause this is an important part of what we share on this trip.
Again so sorry about your experience and thanks to your feedback, for sure this will make us check our procedures and make this trip better for the next travelers.

Our guide Bruna was great at navigating the many features of this excursion! She took us through a full but agile schedule adding tons of interesting commentary which helped enhance the experience! The dam is impressive but the falls are amazing- would definitely recommend if you’re trying to get a taste of Paraguay in less than a day!
Maximillian_R, Dec 2025
Nice day trip to experience Paraguay if you’re in the area. Border crossing was easy from Brazil. The museum was closed so we went to an animal sanctuary instead, which was great. Got to see jaguars and many other animals. Other stops included a couple hydroelectric damns, Saltó Monday waterfall, and a view of Brazil and Argentina from Paraguay. Also got to drive by the market. Bruna was a great guide. I’d recommend for anyone in the area looking for something a little different from Iguazu falls and interested in learning a bit about the history of this part of South America.
Aaron_L, Nov 2025
I was in South America for 2 weeks and this was my favorite activity. The shuttle was comfortable and on time, Diego was a fantastic tour guide; very friendly, informative, and he helped with making purchases throughout the day. Every stop of the tour felt completely safe and we all enjoyed each of them. The border crossing was also easy, we didn't need to exit the shuttle. Take this tour and enjoy a day in Paraguay!
oemarina0726, Oct 2025
Tour was an introduction to Paraguay visiting world’s second largest hydroelectric dam, a small museum, the confluence of rivers bordering 3 countries, the beautiful Monday waterfalls and a local pastry shop as well as witnessing the shopping craziness of Ciudad del Este. We enjoyed the opportunity to visit Paraguay with an informed guide.

Hello Daniel, all good? Sorry you did not have a great experience. We tried to contact you by the number it was on the booking but it did not work out. as you were the only one on that day trip the regular tour did not happen as we did not Get the minimum amount of travelers. Anyways we talked with the guys from the hostel you were staying about the option of doing the tour with a group on the b
next day or a private tour and them said you were not interested, this is why the tour was canceled and we send you the refund.
Só sorry for the miscomunication

A good way to see Paraguay for a day - we went to a museum, the dam (which was surprisingly very interesting!), the waterfall and the viewpoint. All good to see and I'd recommend if you have a day in iguazu and want to see Paraguay. The edge of the border didn't look worth visiting by foot - it was all super busy shopping centres.
RAFAEL_D, Oct 2025
We had a fantastic day exploring Paraguay with our guide, Adriano. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience truly memorable. We visited Saltos del Monday, the impressive Itaipu Dam, and several other important sites that gave us a deeper appreciation of the region. Lunch at a local Paraguayan restaurant was delicious and authentic. We also crossed back into Brazil to visit a serene Buddhist temple in Foz do Iguaçu. A well-rounded and enriching tour—highly recommended!
Mark_P, Aug 2025
Bruna is the best! Her knowledge of the history and culture of Paraguay made this trip fantastic. Way better than shopping in Ciudad del Este.
JoAnn_K, Jul 2025
We would thoroughly recommend this tour. Ena, the tour guide was excellent - interesting, engaging and informative. The programme stops were much more interesting than we had anticipated. You should make time for this tour to Paraguay, if your are visiting Foz do Iguaçu. The driver was also excellent and spoke English.

A wonderfall trip. The dam was really impressive, and the Monday falls are amazing. Our guide Roberto was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and led a really friendly trip, even finding us some tasty vegetarian food!
Venika_N, Apr 2025
This was a really great tour of Paraguay. Bruna's love and knowledge for Paraguay really shone through on our trip. Not only did we see Itaipu dam, we also got to see the Triple Frontier as well as the waterfall at Saltos Monday. Bruna kept us informed and we even got to try out local Paraguayan food. Well worth the trip!
Devesh_S, Apr 2025
A truly great day. Being immersed in the Paraguay culture was amazing. Bruna (the tour guide) was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. She is passionate about the Paraguay culture and history. Our itinerary included:
1) Museum
2) Itaipu Dam
3) Saltos Monday Waterfall
4) Triple Frontier
5) Local market (pass by)
6) Local food stop
7) Mosque (pass by)
I'd definitely suggest this tour if you have an extra day in Foz. The car was comfortable and fetched us on time. The driver was a nice gentlemen. Would definitely recommend.
Dylan_A, Apr 2025
Bruna was a great guide who paced the trip perfectly. The transport was comfortable and the trip itself was really interesting. This is the single best way to discover Paraguay - a place you would never be able to figure out on your own as a foreigner.
Blake_H, Apr 2025
This was a great day trip! Roberto spoke great English. He was very knowledgeable. It was just the right amount of things to see in a day trip. It wasn’t rushed. If you have an extra day while visiting Iguazu, take this day trip across to Paraguay. You won’t be disappointed.
Tania_O, Mar 2025
It was nice to see bits of Paraguay - we saw the Itaipu Dam, Monday Falls, the river confluence of the 3 countries, a local market, and a small museum. The local market felt like a stop that the guides added in for their benefit because it was nothing special, and the time we spent there was purely for the guides to make some purchases (duty free!) while we waited in the sun for them to finish. It felt quite unprofessional.
Carol_O, Mar 2025
Perfect day in Paraguay.
Ana was our guide and Tiego our driver.
3 of us shared a lovely car with lots of room and decent air-conditioning, thankfully.
Ana is such a lovely, knowledgeable lady who loves to promote Paraguay. The trip was perfect, loved learning about the Dam, Monday waterfall does not let Paraguay down! I loved viewing the 3 borders too. We stayed in car for the market as it was unbelievably hot, however, we still saw everything there was to see. Finally, the museum, very interesting with exhibits I've not seen for many years!
Last but not least Tiego, he was happy, smiling and a gentleman. The door of car was opened before you thought of doing it!!
Thank you for a lovely day in Paraguay guys
Brendan_F, Mar 2025
Bruna our tour guide was great. No queues through border crossing into Paraguay. Going on the Itaipu power plant tour would have been difficult without her (since the tour guide there spoke Spanish). Bruna knew her stuff anyway and was very helpful. Going to the Monday waterfalls was cool but be aware this will be slightly underwhelming if you go to the Iguazu falls as it is just the one waterfall, but still nice nonetheless. Visiting a small local museum was insightful and interesting to learn some history which Bruna explained well. We also saw the "3 fronts" from the Paraguay side as well as the local Paraguay market. The market was only a quick drive through / round with no stopping for any shopping, but that was fine as we didn't have any accepted cash anyway. A good day trip out if you have a free day and want to tick another country off the list. The driver was good at navigating the traffic and chaos in Paraguay.
The standout would be Bruna herself - I accidentally had some ice cream bought at the Monday waterfalls that had peanuts in them which set off my allergic reaction. Completely my fault as I didn't check the ingredients before trying (it's always the one time you don't check!). Luckily the reaction wasn't too bad, but I told Bruna and she offered to take me to hospital if required. It wasn't too serious but we did drive to the nearest pharmacy where she helped me buy some anti-inflammatory / anti-histamine tablets and that helped get rid of the symptoms. I felt bad because she seemed very concerned and kept checking on me in the minibus and throughout the rest of the tour to ensure I was ok. She even sent a message later than evening as a check up. Very much appreciated and can't recommend her enough, thanks Bruna!

I didn’t get a chance to experience this due to the provider's cancellation. However, still waiting for the refund. Thanks.
Elizabeth_J, Mar 2025
Fantastic day trip.
The guide Bruna and the driver were both brilliant. It was a small group tour, just 3 of us. The description of the tour on Viator gives very little information. This is what we did
1. Visit a museum
2. Salto Monday waterfalls (stunning)
3. Visit 3 border landmark (Paraguay side)
4. Ate local food (own expense)
5. Visit a street market
6. ITAPU dam tour
7. Drive by mosque
8. Drive by cathedral
9. Stop for souvenir shopping
All fully explained in clear English from the guide. Hope the above gives a bit of clarity as to what’s included.
Christopher_L, Feb 2025
Saw the Salto Monday waterfall, did a tour of the dam, drive through the local market (was supposed to walk through but it was raining, so we drove), and went to the museum about the city’s history. Was a great way to see a part of Paraguay I never thought I would!
Bruna was my guide and she was incredible. Had so much knowledge about each place we went, was able to tell us about all the animals we spotted as well as some of the trees and fruit. Learned a lot and am thankful she was my guide, amazing.
