This desert dinner experience stands out by taking travelers to the luxury recreation of a *caravanserai*—historically a small settlement and rest stop for travelers passing along established trade routes. Disappointed with this experience. Travelled not far out of the City, to a man made camp. No clear instructions were given to us by the driver on arrival. Making our own way into the camp, we were then conned into paying for head scarves, thinking these were part of the experience. Our view of the stage for the dancing was obstructed by a pillar, when asked to be moved, we were told to move our table a few inches!!
The only plus side to this experience, the dancing and food were both very good.

This experience was just fine. It was fun to get out of the city and out to the desert. A driver picked us up at our airbnb and the drive was quick and easy. The setting is awesome. Food was just fine and entertainment was OK. We had fun and the entire event was light hearted.

Avoid this experience. We waited for over an hour to be collected and then had to give up waiting. We called them several
times and messaged them when we were waiting. No one bothered to reply. The tour company eventually turned up after 1 hour and 19 minutes. By then we made other plans. At no point did they apologise or re arrange our experience. Stay away from this tour operator.

We joined the Tour Dubai desert safari in partnership with Hyatt Regency Dubai during our December 2025 trip. Pickup was punctual at 2:30 PM from our hotel, and after a 45-minute drive out of the city, we arrived at an off-road adventure hub buzzing with ATVs and dune buggies. Here’s the insider tip: splurge on the 30-minute buggy ride (around 250 AED per person) and make sure you choose the option that lets you roam beyond the fenced area. It’s pure adrenaline and easily the highlight for our family.
Next comes the classic desert safari upsell moment—scarves, souvenirs, snacks. If you’re not interested, just smile and decline politely. And despite what the vendors say, you don’t need a headscarf for sun or sand protection unless you want the look for photos.
Then the real thrill begins: dune bashing. Your guide transforms into a rally driver, and it’s a wild ride across the sand dunes. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take Dramamine beforehand—you’ll thank me later.
After a few photo stops, we rolled into a beautifully staged desert camp featuring camel rides, falcon photo ops, and live entertainment under the stars. The buffet dinner is where Hyatt Regency’s involvement should shine—but honestly, it fell short. While the setup was impressive, the food tasted like a mass-produced tourist spread. I expected more from a Hyatt-branded experience; think Naf Naf Grill rather than fine dining.
The evening wrapped up around 8:15 PM, and we were back at the hotel by 9 PM. Despite the culinary letdown, the overall experience was unforgettable—dune bashing, buggy rides, and desert sunsets make this a must-do in Dubai. It’s easy to see why this ranks as the city’s #1 tour attraction.

It was really great overall because this experience offered a little bit of everything.
What we really liked: the dune bashing in the car was actually our favorite activity. Next we liked the falcon holding and the dancing at the desert Oasis.
What we thought was nice/ok: The buffet had some vegetarian options, like lentil soup, salads, biryani, white rice and yogurt, and maybe 1 or 2 other things. We were a bit concerned because it said BBQ, but they do have other options and a separate part of the night they offer a taste of traditional foods, which you can request vegetarian. You don't get to choose your hena art, and it's a close design to what everyone gets, but does vary slightly.
What we didn't really like: the camel ride is just you sitting on the camel and the trainer walks it in a small circle. So it's not a big experience but you do get to pet and ride the camel, so they did fulfill their promise. The thing that was maybe the most misleading was that I thought we would get to ride in 4 wheeler/ ATV around some dunes. This is NOT included when you buy tickets. They take you to this place as a pit stop along the road because it has a bathroom and food/drinks, but you need to pay separately for the ride. We are a family of 3, so each adult had 1 ATV and our daughter rode on the back with my husband. It cost almost $200 USD for this ride. It was nice, but not sure I would pay that price or even really recommend it to anyone.
Overall it had a nice little piece of everything so I would recommend it for people who are interested in doing some of the activities but maybe short on time while staying in Dubai.

It was a good tour. The food was good and there was plenty of entertainment from belly dancing to whirling dervishes to fire twirlers to a man allowing you to hold his falcon. They also had camel rides.

Prepare to be flexible on departure time and a long drive. Food is ok and bountiful. The entertainment was a bit slow and would have been nice earlier in the evening. Pressure to purchase souvenirs.

Took a long time to get there, driver arrived late due to the traffic but we'd still have been late, traffic is horrendous in dubai! But what a fabulous evening, watching the sunset in the Arabian dessert, Camel riding, henna dancing and drinking, lovely!!

This was a fun excursion - it was the right length, kept moving and had a variety of activities to keep you engaged. Only thing I’d change is not having someone approach to sell you something and perhaps doing a package with alcohol included (plus more confident bartenders) to reduce the friction in that piece of the experience but really fun. Camels seemed well cared for.

Transport very poor, car not very clean, asked driver twice to fix seat belt got ignored. Arrived at 6.30pm so missed start of show. Food was nice. Told return pick up was 8pm before show had finished. Overpriced for 1.5 hours at venue.

The pick up was changed to 4.30pm and I was skeptical after reading some reviews but it was perfect- we were first there but it meant we got to see the sunset in the desert, ride the camels, get henna and have a drink before others arrived. Our original plans were changed and the location and times were adjusted due to a weird rain storm that caused flooding at the site. The company took care of everything and moved us to a different venue which was just spectacular. Highly recommended.
