Itinerary

Your tour begins with pickup from your central Cuenca hotel in time for an 8am departure. Traveling in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, set out on the around 30-minute journey to the Cajas National Park.

On arrival, you have a choice of two different itineraries. Either explore the park’s lowlands at Llaviucu, around 10,170 feet (3,100 meters) above sea level, and soak up the scenery on an around 45-minute hike. Alternatively, head into the highlands and admire the views on a trek around the Toreadora Lagoon.

After a morning exploring the park’s natural wonders, return to Cuenca, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around midday.

Also you have to use warm clothes, the temperature at the PN Cajas is not stable, and it can change according to the weather. Take water and money with you to pay the tickets

The operator was a no show. Left me stranded at my hotel. Viator was no help whatsoever. This is deplorable operation. No communication and no assistance.

If you can get Eddy as your tour guide, you are already having, in our opinion, the best tour guide in Cuenca. The National Park is amazing. So much history, beautiful scenery and a knowledgeable tour guide added so much to this trip. Being Canadians, we were surprised and impressed that the trout in the lake were brought in from Canada.
