We added this walking tour of Ajaccio to our itinerary as our cruise ship hit multiple ports (Barcelona, Corsica, Marseilles, Genoa, La Spezia, and Rome). I have to say, my family (myself, wife, 19 and 22 year old daughters) were all surprised to say that it ranked near the top of our packed itinerary list.
First off - LUDO was a phenomenal guide. He was knowledgable, fun, easy to understand (CRITICALLY IMPORTANT AND NOT OFTEN THE CASE WITH GUIDES), and willing to be flexible to our interests.
Then the town of Ajaccio was just beautiful. Clean, safe, walkable, full of shops/markets/restaurants/churches/etc. We had done a self-guided tour in Marseilles just the day before, and had missed the charming spots that a guide would have targeted. So, to have Ludo (our guide), take us to the best spots, we knew it was the right call. He ended our tour right by the amazing market, so we were able to have spritzes and prescutto/cheese/honey right from the vendors for a phenomenal lunch to end our day.
The ONLY down side was that our cruise ship required us to be back on board by 7 PM, so we weren't able to see this beautiful island town at night! If you can pull it off, stay for dinner and enjoy the lights and charm.
Kudos to Ludo for a great tour. HIGHLY recommend!
