I did the Ala Archa and Issyk Kul-Burana-Konorchek tours with Budget Nomad in collaboration with Datka Travels. Highly recommend these day trips from Bishkek. Tours went smoothly, guides were friendly, even provided lunch to me on Issyk Kul tour. Views are breathtaking at Issyk Kul and Ala Archa. Do not miss it.

This is a can’t miss trip in Kyrgyzstan. The views are spectacular and simply breathtaking. The guide was also very kind and he showed us good spots for photographs. Also he was able to take good video and pictures for us. What I really liked about our guide was he’s picking up and collecting the trashes he encounters along the way and puts it in proper bin.

Excellent Ala Archa Tour with a Knowledgeable Guide

    Robert_G, Jul 2026
I had an excellent experience on this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bishkek. The tour was very well organized from start to finish. The meeting instructions were clear, our guide Анвар arrived right on time, and we departed promptly at 8:00 a.m. We were a small group of only three people, which made the experience much more enjoyable and personal. The scenery in Ala Archa National Park was absolutely stunning. The mountains, river, and fresh mountain air made for a fantastic day, and we were lucky to have beautiful weather as well. The hike was easy to moderate and took about two hours in total, including the optional extension to the bridge. I really appreciated that Анвар gave us the flexibility to decide whether we wanted to continue hiking or turn back, rather than following a rigid schedule. Анвар spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. Throughout the day he shared interesting information about the history of the national park, Kyrgyz culture, and local traditions, including the Kyrgyz tradition of burning archa (juniper) and using the smoke for spiritual cleansing and protection. He also explained how the name Ala Archa is connected to this important plant. These details added a lot to the experience beyond just the beautiful scenery. Everything was relaxed, and we never felt rushed. In fact, Анвар regularly offered to take photos for us so we could enjoy the views without worrying about selfies. The transport arrangements between different parts of the park were smoothly organized, and the related costs were already included in the tour. Overall, this was one of the highlights of my time in Kyrgyzstan. If you're visiting Bishkek and enjoy nature, beautiful mountain scenery, and a well-organized small-group experience with an excellent guide, I can't recommend this tour highly enough.

Great tour to see Ala-Archa, and also perfect timing for the tour because when we arrived there was no people but when started walking back there was loads. Also joined the city tour after this for extra $10 and was worth it. Thank you so much for a great day trip :))

Well organised tour and great guide. Unfortunately, on the day of the tour it was foggy and wasn’t able to see anything. I’d however still recommend this tour, maybe check the forecast and change the date if you have the flexibility.

Highly recommended day trip from Bishkek

While not quite as described, the trip to the park and the hike through parts of it was quite wonderful - and only 30 minutes from Bishkek.

Fab Day Out at Ala Archa

    Vignes_C, Sep 2025
Fantastic national park. Gorgeous during autumn, the walk was a mini hike and comfortable. Gorgeous views all along. The guide was on time, friendly and helpful.

    Amazing tour

Very well-organized tour. Excellent guide. The park is wonderful. I recommend to everyone who wants a marvelous experience in Bishkek.

    Great morning trip from Bishkek

    Christoper_R, Sep 2025
Chose this as it was only half a day and as a solo traveller I wasn't charged a premium like nearly all other tours. The guide Beki explained a bit about Kyrgyzstan on the hours drive to the national park. Once at the park Beki showed us the way and never rushed anyone in the group.... Which was nice as I am not very fit! There were 3 other travellers and we shared a car rather than a minibus. Personally the flat walk in the park was a bigger highlight than the steep walk to the Broken Heart rock, which was optional, but glad I put the effort in! For the price I would 100% recommend.

This is nice tour and our guide was very good. Views are amazing. But you should know that this is a short version, half-day tour and our walk was not long. Good option if you want to be back in the city at lunch.

Great tour to visit while in Bishkek

    Hassan_A, Jul 2025
From pick up to drop off the trip was amazing . My second day trip with the same company and Tour Guide . Mr Eldar. Very knowledgable and loves talking and giving tips for things to do around Bishkek. This tour itself was very nice, although it was long and lots of walking in the valley getting to the canyons. the views once reaching were amazing. The weather was hot so bring sun cream a hat and plenty of water. Also the trecking shoes are recommended as there will be climbing on rocks.

    Best tour in the world

    NataliaLiona_W, Jul 2025
My guide was so lovely and friendly. Very informative. The hike was so beautiful! He went at a pace perfect for me. Took amazing photos for me. Thank you so much! Best tour I’ve ever taken

The best tour I have taken

    Agnes_L, Jun 2025
Faruk is the best guide I promised!! He’s so interesting and willing to talk. He gave us all information about Kyrgyzstan. The tour is organized. Pick up at the time, get some free time to enjoy the nature. Try the local restaurants. City walk in the city to know something about the history. It’s worth it and I really learned a lot! Thank you Faruk.

An uphill Nature Walk in the Tian Shan Mountains.

    Ken_Q, May 2025
Tour guide Adilet super nice, and answered all of our questions. He gave us a nice introduction to the park, future projects, animals, etc… In my opinion Ala Archa National Park had one of the best national part entrances in the world. Beautiful, clean, and it was easy to get up to the walking/hiking paths. The nature walk is uphill. I’m in the 65+ age group, and did the walk portion, and not the hike. I didn’t noticed the incline on the walk up. However, I did notice the decline on our way back. Yet it was a beautiful day and I was able to take some pictures of the Tian Shan Mountains, (7,439 meters high), their glacier color, fast and furious river, their super tall trees and some animals. Viator pinpoint is incorrect, and across the street from the actual pick up point. The description of pick up the is correct. However, you do you use the pinpoint to find the general area. Say a little prayer, before crossing the street, to the train station. FYI Traffic delays and crowds on weekends and holidays. Bring your own tp.

A small group half day tour that takes you up into Al Archa national park for a short (but steep) walk up to a beautiful panoramic view. Faruk was a great guide, with interesting facts. Everything ran smoothly.

I booked a tour with no reviews, almost twice as cheap as competitors - and it was amazing. Communication was smooth, they confirmed everything the day before. Only three people joined, so we traveled in a new, comfy sedan. Our guide Faruh spoke excellent English, shared insights about the park, city, and culture, and gladly answered all questions.

    Good day on the mountain

    Cristina_L, Jul 2026
Even though we were two travelers, they did the excursion for us; it is a beautiful place, it is worth visiting, our guide helped us with everything and was very attentive

Walk through the clouds with wonderful views

    DAVID_R, Sep 2025
Nice experience. Ala Archa is a great place to stroll or beat yourself up a mountain if you want. Wherever you go, the views are spectacular. Eldar, the guide, did a great job with the explanations and taking us to Broken Heart. Recommended tour of all points if you visit Bishkek.

It's full of nature and I'm glad I went!

    TAKAYUKI_T, Aug 2025
I went to the meeting station on the day without any information about how long the hike would take (it turned out to be about two hours), and I was worried that they wouldn’t pick me up when it was time. Then, 10 minutes late, the guide created a passenger car. And the bad guys on tour ... At 8:15, I arrived in front of the other participant's hotel, and for about 10 minutes no pines appeared. When the guide contacted me, I heard a somber voice saying, "Yesterday they told me to meet at 8:30." We finally got all the tour participants together, and we went to the national park and started hiking, but as a troubled child, he called to tell us that the bank had called about the abuse, and he and his guide waited on a bench for about 30 minutes. I got numb, the guide decided to leave him and move on, and we were climbing to the top of the mountain with the view, and he, the troubled kid, came up and said, "I'm just going to come up and wait for you." I thought the guide should refuse here, and while we were waiting, the guide told us that lunch would be on the tour after this, so we had to ask him to confirm that, and we finally made it home this afternoon. The guide loved Japan, and the talk was interesting, but I wanted him to make a more tough decision. Despite all this trouble, my partner tips and this is another bad aftertaste. Sweat

Dear Takayuki, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed experience. I sincerely apologize that the guide arrived about 10 minutes late — we will make sure in the future that our guides are always at the meeting point 10–15 minutes earlier. Since your booking did not include an email or WhatsApp contact, it was difficult for us to reach out to you in advance. Regarding the group size, this was a small-group tour (normally 10–15 people, but in this case only 3), so sometimes unexpected situations can happen with other participants. Our guides always try to balance the needs of everyone, and I understand this may not have felt ideal for you. We truly value your feedback and will use it to improve our communication and group tour management. I hope you still enjoyed the beauty of the hike and the stories shared along the way. Warm regards, Adilet | Budget Nomad Tours Kyrgyzstan
