We had a wonderful...

gbland101, Sep 2025
We had a wonderful private walking tour of Arles. Our guide brought the city’s rich history to life, weaving together Roman ruins, medieval architecture, and Van Gogh’s time here in such an engaging way. The pacing was perfect as I was struggling with walking. Having a private tour made it feel tailored to us, and we left with a much deeper appreciation of Arles’ beauty and history. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this fascinating city!

Dominique was very knowledgeable. The experience was delightful. I would highly recommend him for any tour of the area.

A town of a lot of colors

Alexia is very knowledgeable about the town of Arles. The Roman Arena and theatre are the ones unforgettable. I triple enjoyed walk-about.

Our guide, Andrea was superb. She was knowledgeable and engaging, detailing history and even providing restaurant recommendations.

Disappointed

Catherine_M, Jun 2024
We were very disappointed with our tour. Nadia was lovely but her English was not strong. She was constantly searching for her words. In fairness, she would eventually find them, but this slowed everything down. The pace was very slow - we would have to say "OK, what's next?". It was slow and disorganized. I use tour guides all the time and have used Viator in the past. When you are paying over $500 you expect a professional tour. This did not meet our expectations. I will not use your service again.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Dear Catherine, Viator is not sending the reviews and I discover this one anly now. You should have asked for a partial refund from us, and we would have done something for you because of the tour guide's work. Sorry for your disapointment, she is normaly quite god in english even though she is not fluent. Regards

Great overview of Arles

Janice_y, Sep 2023
Our tour guide Marc was extremely knowledgable about the history of the region, and also sensitive to the needs of our group such as shade, water and toilette stops. He read us perfectly and performed the tour accordingly

Interesting Town of Arles

Kim_O, Apr 2023
We had a good walk around in the city of Arles. Our friends had done a different walking tour the day prior and heard a lot more about the Van Gogh history and our guide wasn't too knowledgeable about the Van Gogh history in Arles, but she had good knowledge of the Roman history, We enjoyed the tour.

Wonderful tour

Claude was fabulous! We learnt a lot about Arles and it’s very rich history. There were many details provided along the tour & at the end she made a most fabulous restaurant recommendation!

Use wikipedia and google maps instead

Bradley_K, Jun 2022
Our guide walked us around Arles and pointed out certain sites. Despite the fairly high price of the tour, no paid admission to anything was included in the tour. Consequently, we had to go back and essentially re-do the tour of the arena and amphitheater in the blazing hot sun after paying admission. Our tour guide offered good insight at Saint-Trophime but very little after that. Our guide did not have any real suggestions for lunch. Our guide was very pleasant, but you can skip this tour.
