We were very lucky that we had great weather and it was worth the 1.5 hr drive to the shrine. Our guide Tomio, was excellent and took us to a farmers market on the way back because we explained how disappointed we were with the apples at the department store. He showed us the apples and grapes in season and they were delicious!
The bridge was unusual and nice to see along with the Japanese cranes at a very small zoo before the bridge.
It was a most enjoyable day!!
This tour is a great way to get to some places that would be difficult and time consuming to get to by public transport. My guide/driver Tomio Yokouchi spoke excellent English and was courteous and knowledgeable about the history and culture of northern Japan. I thought this tour was great value and highly recommend it.
Tomio was professional, polite and good company. He is an excellent driver and his car is extremely clean and comfortable. He was knowledgeable about the sites and he speaks excellent English. This trip was one of the highlights of my journey around Japan.
