Itinerary

Meet your guide at your centrally located hotel in Ankara for your private sightseeing tour. Hop aboard your private vehicle and cruise to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. With your local guide, explore the museum's exhibits which pay close attention to Anatolia’s past rulers. See the Catal Huyuk site which reveals one of the first communities of humankind. Then, see an intriguing display of ancient tablets that have been translated to remind us how similar we were to our ancestors a millenia ago.

Continue to the Citadel Ankara, a monument that’s recognized as the symbol of Ankara and is a perfect spot for fantastic views. Hear why this monument is believed to have been erected by Phrygians or Hittites making it the oldest monument in Ankara. Then, glimpse over the city and learn how this area was not only settled over 4,000 years ago but that lifestyles have been nearly the same since the 15th century.

Next, head to Ataturk Mausoleum and see the grave of Ataturk, the creator of the Turkish Republic. Learn about this great leader and courageous soldier who revolutionized Turkey. Stroll through the Mausoleum, constructed in 1953, and observe statues, reliefs and embellishments conceived by Turkey’s art community. Finally, enjoy the option to visit the Old Copper Market (closed on Sunday).

Must do in Ankara

Tracey_S, Jun 2024
the tour was so customised and we were given so much time to explore on our own as well really made it an extraordinary experience. Mehmet was very knowledgeable and gave us so much to learn and think about. I was born in Ankara so it was a very special tour for me which Mehmet made very special.

Burak was an excellent guide for the Ankara tour. He is extremely knowledgeable on the history of the city and Turkiye and the museum tour was amazing. In addition, he provided a tour of the city as well. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Ankara.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. We enjoyed everything that was shown to us. A historical connection was made between our visit to Egypt and Turkey. Extremely insightful! 😊

The Tour and Tour guide was perfect but they should give some beverages or something with this kind of money... After talking to our friend we found that this tour agent is really expensive and super VIP .

The Agency was able to set up the tour for me in less than 24 hours. The guide was a Scholar! I learned so much on this tour. Oh and the city of Ankara exceeded my expectation. The old town inside the castle walls was probably the highlight of the tour. The guide also gave me helpful hints to continue sightseeing on my own.

This is a must for people who are interested in ancient history. It's like a few hours of refresher course on ancient and world history. Very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable tour guide. Many thanks, Mustafa!

My tour guide, Mustafa, gave me a terrific private tour of Ankara. His insights into the city, its history, culture and personality, were wonderful. I also appreciated his willingness to dash through the rain with me so that I was able to experience all that Ankara had to offer. My private car was clean and always ready when we were moving on to our next location. Mustafa's English was wonderful. I felt comfortable asking questions, taking the time to look at the things I wanted to see, and asking for recommendations. As a single woman with a limited amount of time in which to tour, this was the best option I could find. I would definitely recommend this great service and would use Viator again based on this experience!

We hit the major highlights of Ankara with our guide and because it was a private tour we were able to customize some and asked to be taken to a small neighborhood spice and fruit market. We also walked the neighborhood streets and visited local shops. Fun tour!
