If you’re struggling to choose between this trip and Marrakesh then choose this one. Marrakesh is five hours on a toll motorway, this trip five hours on scenic mountain passes. Marrakesh is a coach this trip an air conditioned minibus (although only one vent worked on ours). Marrakesh is a show put on for tourists, this trip much more authentic. An amazing small town, a fantastic history, genuine culture, genuine places to visit, without the harassment and pressures of Marrakesh - it wins on all points for me
Not for the faint hearted - the mountain passes at speed can be hair raising, don’t look down when whizzing along on the wrong side of the road on a hairpin corner and something is coming the other way - they are experienced expert drivers

Worthwhile trip, the drive through the country side was lovely and Essaouira is a lovely place to visit.
Our guide Abdul was quite knowledgeable but his tireless boasting about how he was the only one who was going to show us the best and unique experience was very tiring. His recommendation for a restaurant was okay but the visit to the spice shop, completely orchestrated, was a total ripoff! The biggest shock and disappointment was when he loudly berated a customer when she left the bus without giving him tip, which he had been plugging for all day! The driver, Mohamed was very good.

This excursion was amazing and exceeded all expectations. It was a long day but I’m so pleased we did it. Yasim, our driver was most informative and showed us beautiful beaches , stopping and allowing us to explore and photograph at our own pace. We had a long stop watching a herd of camels including skittish babies , who stoped for a drink mere metres from the car. Also saw goats in trees , an armadillo crossing the road as well as donkeys, sheep, cattle and puppies. On arrival in Essaouira we transferred to our guide, Abdul. His knowledge on this beautiful town was limitless. We saw the fishing harbour, went through the gate of tolerance, fish market, fortress, introduced us to a great restaurant, took us shopping through the narrow streets - we would never have found our way around these streets with him. He geared the tour to our needs and was extremely attentive.

Highly recommended tour! I enjoyed this tour and it's a change of environment compare to typical tour to Marrakech. The tour Guide are really kind and knowledgeable and always keeping eye on everyone in the tour.

This Trip although lengthy was worth doing. There wasn't a lot of information and communication from our guide, but we enjoyed the relatively comfortable journey and really liked seeing Essaouira.

This was (as expected ) a long day trip. The time spent in Essaouira was lovely but the guide was poor. The pick up was a bit late and there were only 6 people in a small van. We were given no information about anything all day. We had stops along the way but with no details about why we were stopping, how long for or when we would reach the next point. We expected a guided tour of Essaouira but this didn't happen. Instead we stopped at a restaurant outside the city and were expected to have a meal for an unknown stop time. Everyone was confused with plans all day. We enjoyed the city by ourselves when we eventually got there but the organisation and guide were very poor. This is the worst Viator trip I have ever done and I have done a lot of trips over the years.

This was a good trip to Essadouira and the guide was excellent.Due to the distance from Agadir it involves a long day starting at 7am and not getting back to Agadir until 7pm but it is worthwhile to see this lovely coastal town

Excellent guide Hassan who explained everything in 3 languages. His knowledge was limitless throughout the whole day.
Fascinating location- beautiful beaches, fascinating culture and great shopping and restaurants. Thoroughly recommend a visit here.

We were 3 friends travelling to Essaouira from Agadir, we were picked up at 7.30as stated,we were in a small taxi, the driver had very little English ,didn't confirm if we were the people who booked the trip ,we had to ask him to put on the air conditioning as it was so hot and he had his window fully open ,because he had no English we learned nothing about the beautiful country side we were travelling through. When we got to Essaouira we were met by a lovely experienced guide who gave us a wonderful tour and brought us to a lovely restaurant for lunch ( not included in price) we had decided to give this excellent guide a tip of 15 euro,when we handed it to him he said you must pay me for the tour ,we explained that it was included in the 80euro each we paid when booking 2 weeks before our trip ,the driver then got involved in their own language and were arguing, the driver then went to the car and came back with an envelope containing 400 dirham, the lovely guide an elderly gentleman shouldn't have to beg for his money ,

The trip was conducted well. Brand new mini van, on time pickup and an English speaking guide. The costal drive was nice to see as well. The city of Essaouira was ok.

Good trip overall. Guide was nice, competent and explained some interesting things both in English and French. Driver was good. Pickup was about 15mins late. Group and guide were quite slow, interim stops lasted quite long. Guide led group to a specific restaurant for lunch - I would have preferrend several options/recommendations.

The tour was very nice, we visited a women’s cooperative where they extract argan oil, then we walked around charming Essaouira, had time for lunch and walking around by ourselves and at the end we saw goats on trees and stopped for a moment at a desert.

Great tour with a lovely tour guide. Although we spend most of the time travelling it was good. Worth the cost. Was able to do some shopping in another city and get authentic argon oil. The boats do not look like the pictures.

We had a lovely private tutor and our guide was Hassan.
We found the private tutor more to our liking as we did not need to rush or wait around on other members of a large group.
Hassan was quite informative, giving us information on the land of morocco and the history of the Argan trees and the fruit which is only found in Morocco and certain parts where they grow wild. We passed through banana village too on the way and purchases some bananas on the way back at the end of our trip.
Hassan took us through the fresh catch market where they sell seafood and fish from their daily fresh catch of the day. It was so enticing, I wanted to purchase some fresh Crab, Prawns and Fish but I knew it wouldn't keep fresh in the heat for the journey back to our hotel in Agadir.
We saw the old cannons and they have been preserved very well. The sea view from where the cannon laid is just beautiful.
He took us through the souk otherwise known as the market square of Essaouira, it was beautiful and different to the Marrakech square souk, not bad at all just different qualities about them both but that is to be expected, of course.
The beach was very peaceful and stunning and we did not want to leave, we stood on the beach on the shore just welcoming the weaves that crashed into our ankles whilst taking in the sun ray and serenity of the scenery. It was a great way to kick our tutor trip.
I cannot wait to go again, Thank you Hassan !!

Bonne excursion à Essaouira dans l'ensemble.
Points positifs :
Véhicule de transport à l'heure devant l'hôtel et confortable.
2 haltes a l'aller et au retour pour pas que le trajet soit trop long.
Guide sympathique et drôle.
Points négatifs :
Soit disant déjeuner libre mais on essaie à tout prix de vous emmener dans un resto pour toucher une commission. Le restaurant en question est noté 3/5 sur TripAdvisor donc on a refusé mais on a bien senti le mécontentement.
On aurait préféré avoir plus de temps de libre pour visiter Essaouira plutôt que de suivre le guide et s'arrêter là où il souhaitait et parfois attendre que le groupe est fini ses emplettes.

Effectivement nos chauffeur ce présentent toujours à l'heure et ponctuelle et par rapport à nos véhicules ils sont tous confortable car nous disposons que de nouveau véhicules avec un entretien régulier.
Concernant ce que vous avez appelé point négatif, si vous voyager beaucoup vous n'allait pas dire ça car ceux qui voyages beaucoup savent déjà que tous les restaurants du monde sans exception donnant une petite commission à des guides qui accompagnant les groupes touristiques (dans tous les pays du monde) et juste à titre d'information c'est l'autorité qui nous fixe le restaurants dans lequel on doit s'arrêter en ce basent sur plusieurs critères telles que l'hygiène, sécurité alimentaire... et aussi que ils ont choisis un restaurant 3 étoiles car le pouvoir d'achat n'est pas le même chez tous les participants et pas tout le monde peut s'offrir un repas 5*.
Et juste pour expliquer plus, nous on vous propose un endroit sécurisé dont nous assumons la responsabilité si y a quelque chose qui vous arrive mais vous n'êtes pas obligé de manger là-bas vous pouvez choisir l'endroit que vous voulez mais nous ne somme pas responsable.
Pour le temps libre, il est bien détaillé dans le programme qu'il s'agit d'une excursion guidée avec le groupe et qu'il y a un programme à respecter et des engagements à respecter nous ne pouvons pas vous laisser plus. Si vous voulez rester pour plus de temps et ne pas attendre le groupe il fallait prendre une excursion en privé pas avec le groupe comme ça vous pouvez faire ce que vous voulez.

Très belle excursion en compagnie de notre guide Hassan et notre conducteur Hicham.
Le minibus est arrivé à notre hôtel très ponctuel à 7h30. Les 3 heures de route qui séparent Agadir d'Essaouira ont été ponctuées d'une pause en station service ainsi que de la visite d'une coopérative de femmes fabriquant de l'huile d'argan.
Hassan nous a ensuite guidés dans la medina d'Essaouira puis nous avons eu un temps libre jusqu'à 16h avant de reprendre la route.
Nous conseillons l'expérience !
(PS: les arrêts pour voir les chèvres et le village berbère n'ont pas eu lieu comme mentionné dans la description, mais ce n'est qu'un détail)

La excursión está bien solo por el traslado. Las explicaciones en Español por el guía se resumen en 7 frases, y la explicación en la fábrica del argan son siempre en inglés. Una vez llegamos a Essaouira no hay explicación de nada. Además el guía aprovechó para ir a comer con nosotras y tuvimos que pagarle la comida PORQUE NO HIZO NI EL AMAGO DE PAGARSE LO SUYO DESPUÉS DE AUTOINVITARSE. Intentamos que nos dejara solas pero no, nos acompañó todo el tiempo libre que teníamos. Solo vale la pena por que te lleven a los sitios. Las cabras voladoras las vimos de milagro, no es algo seguro, solo las vimos 2 mint. ¡Espero que esto les sirva!
