Aswan to Abu Simbel is 3hr trip one way. And the way to this place is completely deserted. 6hrs drive to spent 1hr at Abu Simbel… should I have taken this trip or not?? I don’t know… We got a random guide from the spot for $20 for a group of 6. His name was Mahmoud and he spoke English well and explained all the history. On our way back we had the lunch from Al Modish restaurant. With no doubt that was the best meal we had in our entire Egypt trip. And we took parcel for that night from there. If you are really short on time, valley of kings and Ramses temples are much beautiful. But the trip and tour company was sooo good

The van was new well maintained, the guys taking turns driving very friendly and quiet. It was just the 5 of us booking in the van which made the trip very pleasant and quiet and comfortable. Arrived in Abu Simbel waited a little for the arrival of our guide in Italian who explained to us from outside the images that we would find at the intermediate temples and told the story of the temple and its movement. He was really good and nice! Schedules have been adhered to. Departure at 8am and return by 7pm. I recommend this experience also for the good value for money.
