The hop on hop off bus works well for getting around Halifax and seeing the tourist sites. The guides on the bus were pleasant and informative. The bus comes round fairly often which works well when you have a limited amount of time to spend in town.
This was a great way to get around the city of Halifax and see the sights. A definite stop must be the citadel. The museum is brilliant with so many artifacts for you to see.
Really enjoyed!!
The guides were wonderful
With loads of interesting information great history of the city and all the surest
Easy way to see Halifax. Knowledgeable tour guides. Appropriate stops. Would like more history and fewer restaurant reviews.
The first thing we did was take the bus around the entire loop to make observations about which stops we would like to get off to see. We then got back on another bus to do just that which was more time efficient as well as giving us the best experience.
Could not find check in area. Vague information. Closed at 4:00, which is to early!
Arrived as quickly as possible but did not have time, do to Peggy's Cove appointment.
Wife is handicapped!
Nothing we could do to make the trolley!
Very disappointed!!
Great way to get around Halifax on limited time but unlike other hop on hop off it’s a one way loop so if you want to do the full trip first you will need to go all the way around again to get off at each stop..
the citadel has changing of the guard every hour on the hour and they fire the cannon at midday if you want to work your day around that..
the waterfront is a cool area too..
Big shout out to Andrea a guide on one of the buses.. and was super helpful, knowledgeable and a very funny lady..
Good tour. Guide was excellent! We learned a lot about Halifax and life in Halifax. Maritime museum was excellent
It allows you to go the entire route first, choose what you want to see, then get on another bus to start the hop on/ hop off adventure.
Upstairs windows of bus were fogged up. Difficult to see sites.
Many of the sites were in downtown area; we had already walked around them.
There was no end time communicated to us and we were ready to go, the tour bus driver said we had missed the last bus at 3:00 and we forced to take a cab
Really nice driver and tourguide! Got the highlights of Halifax history! Nice bus and smooth driving.
This tour would be great for your first day. Unfortunately we were on day 3 and had already seen almost all of the stops. Also be aware that just because it takes you to a stop, your admission is not included. I don't think this is really worth the amount, as everything is fairly accessible by walking.
busses on time and we were able to see the sites on our own schedule. The Titanic cemetery was a lovely place to stop and remember those who perished, and in many cases never identified.
Whenever I travel, I try to book a tour like this. Unfortunately, due to the rain we were not able to hop off as much as we wanted, but we got to visit the key points we were interested in.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience this tour. As we were sitting on the bus waiting for our tour to begin, we were notified that they didn't have a tour guide and wouldn't be operating that day. They did offer a refund and to book a different tour at no charge which we did. I must say I was very surprised that there wasn't a back up plan already in place when emergencies arise and tour guides have to call out. Hopefully you will see this as an opportunity to implement a contingency plan for events such as this so your customers aren't the ones that's impacted.
We had a great time!! The buses were not overcrowded so we could truly hop on!! We had a great bus driver full of knowledge and saw life changing places. Everyone must get off at the Citadel!!
Buses were frequent, guides were knowledgeable & funny, drivers were happy & welcoming.
A great way to see Halifax.
Ok way to get around but not if it’s raining; you can see out the windows. Guide was knowledgeable, but a shame no view, dead air and the hop on hop off vehicle fumes were terrible on all their buses.
Excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, friendly, sopped at places of interest especially because it’s my first time in Halifax.
Voucher said to meet at Maritime Museum. However, we could have caught the bus right outside of the cruise terminal with an earlier start time. Kind of annoying. Also, we were looking for "Murphy's Sailing Tours" as indicated on the Viator Voucher but the bus actually had a different name.
It’s a hop on hop off bus it was fun the guides were knowledgeable and very kind but I think what would make it better would be some kind of online tracker.overall an easy way to see the city.
It was easy to go on line and book my reservation. Jumping on and off the bus was easy. The bus was clean. The host on the bus was pleasant.
This was a great time! Our tour guide was wonderful. We learned so much about the city. We had a nice time visiting Halifax.
This was an easy decision for us to make - hop on and hop off at will! Spent as much time as we needed at the sights. It was so easy we decided to hit another stop that we hadn’t planned on doing, but turned into a fantastic stop! We had several guides during the day who imparted their knowledge and expertise making the experience great! Family friendly and perfect for solo travelers as well.
We always take the Hop on/off bus on our first day in a new city and always enjoy the experience. However the cost of the Hop on/off bus in Halifax, does not match the experience. The busses are old and seats barely fit two people (we are average sized people). It was hard to make out the commentary of the guide due to static of the microphone and only 7 stops.
On the site, it says $62 per person but it ended up costing $100 per person and when I asked why the jump in price, Viator told me that sometimes the operators increase the cosy due to demand (read: Cruise Ships)
I don't feel there was good value for the cost of $100 each - especially when compared to other tours we took in Halifax.
The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Great time! Great to see so much of the city! Definitely recommend!
This tour gives you an overview of the city. You can actually get off and back on wherever you see the red signs posted. So, that is nice. We did the whole loop first then stayed on until we wanted to get off. Then we got back on. It was great because it is a little rough walking the steep streets.
My biggest complaint is that when you get off the ship, you have a 20 minute walk to the Maritime Museum . Then the check-in is in a yellow shed in front of that building, not inside. Then, we didn't even get a ticket as the instructions said, the attendant just checked off our names.

Hi there,
We appreciate you for taking the time to share your review. We're glad you enjoyed having the freedom to explore Halifax at your own pace. We’re sorry the walk from the ship and the check in process were not as clear or convenient as expected. We appreciate you pointing this out, as clear directions are important, especially for guests arriving by cruise ship. We’ll keep this feedback in mind as we look for ways to make the process easier for our guests. We hope to welcome you back the next time you are visiting!
Halifax is a nice city to visit.
Tour around the city was good and we learned a lot of interesting facts and history.
What we did not realize though was that the place we had to meet the bus was a good 20-30 minutes walk from cruise port. It was a hot day and certainly would have preferred to get bus much closer to port than have to find the small wooden office far from ship.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We're glad you enjoyed seeing Halifax and learning more about the city's history. We’re sorry the walk from the cruise port to the meeting point was difficult on a hot day. We understand how this could be frustrating, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback.
We hope to see you again soon!
Tour guides are knowledgeable. You will go by 7 points of interest with the ability to get on and off at each one. If you are going to stop at all the stops you will need a full day. Great way to see parts of the city.
