Board the Harbour Hopper, a renovated amphibious vehicle from the Vietnam War era, at the Halifax Ferry Terminal. Take a seat on the covered open deck for great views of the city's top attractions. Your knowledgeable driver/guide will keep you entertained with engaging commentary and tales of naval history, and offer suggestions for where to head next during your stay in this bustling seaside city.
The tour begins on land in Halifax’s historic district downtown. Your driver will point out the city's oldest building, St Paul’s Church, which dates to 1749, as well as Citadel Hill, where landmark Fort George sits as a tribute to Halifax’s key naval role during the British Empire. Flower-filled Halifax Public Gardens is a lovely example of a Victorian-era garden, with its linden and elm trees, wrought-iron gates, bandstand, fountains and statues.
Then it's time for an exciting plunge into the waters of Halifax Harbour to learn about the city’s naval fleet. While learning about Halifax's naval history, you'll enjoy waterfront views of navy ships and submarines. The tour ends where it began, and you'll be ready to hit the town with dining, shopping and entertainment suggestions from your entertaining driver/guide. Super fun getting to ride the Hopper around downtown Halifax, then drive into the harbor for the second half of the tour. Halifax traffic is terrible, so might want to try picking a tour time that minimizes that (i.e., not rush hour). The guide & driver/Captain were both great and gave us a lot of info about the city. Well worth the money!

We had a very entertaining tour guide. This was a good overview of Halifax and we enjoyed the 1 hr tour. We booked ahead of time directly through the company instead of booking through the cruise line and saved $$.

We had a wonderful tour with the Halifax Harbour Hopper, The trip departed right on time and the tour guide gave us a very informative history of Halifax and sights on our way to the harbour. Appreciated his enthusiasm and knowledge and sense of humor. Definitely would do this excursion again. Everyone involved were so friendly and kind.

Wonderful trip. Halifax is one of the original cities in North America and has a rich history. This trip tells the story of this history in very poignant terms. Our hostess Lexie was very charming and switched on. She took a great deal of pride in her citiy's landmarks and the stories behind them. As a Torontonian we all were very impressed with the city and surroundings, especially the citadel and Harbour. One hour was a perfect amount of time. Its our first visit to the Maritimes but we got a very good taste at what a wonderful city Halifax is

We had a great time. We got to have this tour during the first few days there. It gave a great overview of things to check out in the city. We had a tour guide named Adam was fantastic. He was well informed of the history and his great humour kept the trip entertaining.

If you sit in the front two rows you might get wet. It was an informative tour about the history of Halifax and the history of some of Halifax’s buildings.

Loved this tour! Our guide, Abby, was amazing! She was both very informative as well as funny. Learned a lot in a short span of time - both land and sea. Beautiful views in the water of the harbor and of historical sites.

Very informative ( Jonah) & his driver were our tour guide. Get a tour of the city without having to walk it all and a fun and informative tour of the Harbour. Well worth the money if you don’t have a lot of time in the city.

A fun way to get to know the city and where to find places to visit later on. We enjoyed it so much. Our tour guides Lucy and Jeff were very knowledgeable, funny and just amazing. We love the tidbits of history thrown in and the stories. So worth it for the experience!!
