Tour to Embera Community & waterfall on Rio Chagres

We had an absolutely amazing day with the beautiful Embera Pararapuru community on the Rio Chagres. Our tour guide and driver Orlando clearly has a great relationship with them which made for a great trip and experience. We went sailing to the remote waterfall where some of us took a dip and then spending time with the community in their traditional village to see something of their way of life. We were pleasantly surprised by the plentiful hot buffet lunch. The tilapia fried fish was the best we've ever tasted and some had second helping. There was also an abundance of fresh fruit and a refreshing simple lemonade drink which brought back memories of growing up in Jamaica. We also enjoyed the interactive dancing and were lucky enough to be there at the end of the school day when the primary aged children came home. And we met one of their two very dedicated teachers which was nice too. Our prayer is that the Embera tribe will be allowed to continue their traditions in their own space on the Chagres islands despite challenges and surviving alongside modern day Panama. Thank you Pararapuru community we had a wonderful time. Meeting you was the icing on the cake for our wonderful week and first visit to Panama. The trip was very well organized. Everything was on time. We felt very safe. Thank you Orlando!! Thank you Panama!! We'll be back!!

Do this! 100% Worth it!

I absolutely LOVED this tour!! Seriously, I went just a couple of weeks ago and I'm already thinking about going again! 😂 We saw several different kinds of monkeys, including howlers, capuchins, and tiny tamarins, and some even climbed right onto the boat and onto us! What made the experience even more impressive was that we went right after the earthquake, when things were still very chaotic. Despite everything going on, they were incredibly professional and made sure we got our entire tour. The only thing we missed was the walk after the boat, simply because it had gotten dark and wasn't safe to do it at that point, which I completely understood. They didn't rush us or cut our time short. It was honestly one of the most enjoyable things I've done here, and I would happily go again tomorrow. Absolutely fantastic experience!

Super informative Canal & Panama City Highlights Tour

Excellent, informative tour of the Panama Canal and other interesting sites in Panama City. Gabriel did an excellent job working around some last minute changes in the Canal Visitor Center’s schedule due to the recent earthquake. We had a couple of folks from China who spoke no Spanish and only a bit of English, but Gabe was super patient working through translations. I really knew very little about the operations and pride Panamanian’s have for this complex and critical logistics link. Also loved the beautiful views of the city from the marina. One final stop on the tour was the high end hat shop near the Plaza Mayor…I came back later to make a purchase. All in all a great tour, gracias Gabriel!

Great experience

My parents and I booked this tour on our layover in Panama. We received multiple messages with detailed instructions about 1 week before our trip. However, we never expected an earthquake to shatter our schedule. Our flight was delayed for 8 hours so we basically missed out the deadline for cancellation. Immediately after my notification about missing out the tour, I received an instant message about making up for the missed tour. I was completely shocked about their professionalism and caring response. I was offered a new tour the next morning without any additional cost. I was picked up the next morning on time. Both KiKei and Jimmy were super attentive. We were able to catch the ship passing through the lock and the train passing by on our first try. The tour guides were very meticulous about timing so we can see all the actions at the Canal. After the Canal, we were dropped off at old town and were given a highly detailed explanation about all the buildings there. Overall. I highly recommend this tour company. They turned one of my most stressful travel experience into a great one with a lot of wonderful memories.

Worth the trip

It’s an early start, but worth it in the end. Definitely take motion sickness meds for the car ride. My friend and I normally get car sick, but with the meds we were fine. Eric was our driver and he was a great driver and really nice. The islands are beautiful and the water was clear and warm.

This was by far one of the best excursions I have ever had the pleasure to experience! There staff were fabulous! Genesis, our hostess was wonderful. She was knowledgeable and included a little history about The Panama Canal and the island. We were blessed with glorious weather, even though it was the rainy season. The Red lady drink was delicious. Lunch was also very delicious. We ate on the boat which was a lovely experience. This all inclusive experience was dogs so well! Completely worth every penny!

A Must Book!

Our guide Vincent is truly incredible! He educated us the entire tour. The canal history and construction is truly mind-blowing. I'm still processing the information along with the experience. Breathtaking views. Being inside the Panama Canal locks was amazing. The whole process is a site to see. Lunch was delicious. For any vegans planning to book this experience...the vegan food options were filling and very good (rice, salad, plantains and sauteed vegetables). Everything was seasoned to a T! The bus driver was excellent.

Great Experience!

I had an amazing experience, even though it was raining and chill out, the crew made sure we had a great time, the only thing we needed was the sun to make it an unforgettable experience. One of the crew members Miguel assisted me in getting in the water since I don't know how to swim, that was very sweet he was there watching over me while i was able to enjoy the water. Loved that the tour was both in english and spanish, also history based. The dance and the activities were great. Overall an amazing experience.
