What are people saying about Georgia

Kazbegi private day trip with Giorgi
The road trip and the views were amazing. Our tour guide was Giorgi and right from the day before the tour, he was proactive and good at his job. He managed to share basic information and historical significance of the places. The viewpoints, the monasteries and the scenery were amazing and we really enjoyed the tour. The tour is almost 11-12hrs or longer mainly because the time spent on the road and the traffic going out and coming into Tbilisi. (I certainly underestimated the traffic situation 😅) We sat down at a good restaurant with traditional local cuisine. It was a good recommendation by the guide. Personally we skipped the Buggy rides in Gadauri as we felt it was disproportionately priced and similar experience can be had in other places for half the price or lesser.

Exceptional experience
This was one of the best tours we have done. The guide was Tako, she was extremely good at her job; she engaged with people and kept the group experience on point from start to finish. She shared a lot of relevant information along with historical significance of the wine making process and also shared several other details of day to day Georgian life. All the locations were amazing with just the right amount of time. However it would be recommended to have an early breakfast before the tour as the first stop is just a small tasting rather than a sit down for a breakfast. We witness some traditional bread making, Georgian style wine making process and modern winery process as well. We personally enjoyed the fresh bread tasting and the traditional local winery experience. Please know that this wine tasting is not with cheeseboards or with an explanation of the flavour profiles, etc - however it is a wonderful experience and we had a great group as well that made the experience even more enjoyable. I also would recommend going with the traditional Georgian lunch arranged by them at an additional fee even if you are familiar or have sampled enough of Georgian cuisine before. I strongly recommend this tour and it was an amazing experience and very well organized.

Our guide Paata was...
Our guide Paata was brilliant. He was friendly, chatty, funny and kept us entertained throughout the day. We enjoyed the quiz he did on the way back and it did genuinely help to pass the time. He gently encouraged participation and it was fun. The stops were good overall and although you don’t get much time in each place, you see a varied cross-section of an entire country in one day, which is impressive. It is quite history-themed so perhaps not your thing if you’re more interested in modern culture. The bus is really comfortable and had charging outlets. No toilet onboard but we stopped every couple of hours. Paata guided us through the border crossing with ease. The lunch stop was pretty good - a buffet style and we got to try some (I think authentic) Armenian food, where locals were eating. The dinner stop was really poor - less than 30 mins stop and limited options. But you could have picked something up on the last stop in Yerevan to be fair! It’s a very long day (7am pickup, 11pm-12am drop-off) but totally worth it if you want to see Armenia.

A must do if you are in Tbilisi!
The best part of visiting Georgia was actually taking this day tour to Armenia. I know it sounds crazy but after seen those beautiful and magical monasteries in Armenia, all of the sites in Georgia won't be relevant. Crossing the border is easy, the drive is not too bad and the best part is that there are barely any people at the sites, such a mystical experience.

Georgia lies in the mountains, a small republic with unique cuisine, incredible history, and a proud sense of independence. From Tbilisi, the capital, you can reach much of the country on a day trip—such as the awe-inspiring Mt. Kazbegi, whose craggy peak straddles the border with Russia. Georgia tours can also make it easy to dig into the country's wine production: the oldest evidence of human wine cultivation, from 8,000 years ago, comes from the region, so locals know what they’re talking about when it comes to reds and whites.
