We were arriving in to st thomas on a Carnival private charter cruise ship so didn't know what dock we would be at. Their website offered an 8:30 or 12:30 dive so we booked 12:30 since our ship wasn't due in until 9am. I booked via viator, but once booked I was contacted directly by dive shop. They confirmed I was coming in by ship, knew which dock we would be at and offered to adjust their dive time so we could dive in the morning. Their dive boat was at the end of the pier, right next to ships. (Unfortunately we were 2nd ship in port so we had to walk around the other ship so we had to walk through all the shops instead of straight off the ship like the other ship passengers could). Apparently another couple from our ship was supposed to be on the dive with us, but didnt show up. They tried calling them, even contacted carnival and confirmed they never got off the ship, carnival called their cabin to see if they were coming but where not able to reach them. We waited until 10am, just in case. I was impressed with the efforts the company went to to make sure everyone made it to the boat. Most comoanies would just be like, meet time was 9:15, too bad you didnt show up. It ended up a small group, just 4 of us diving, and a snorkler. I liked the idea that they allowed a non diving partner to snorkel above us. She said she saw everything we did since the water wasn't too deep. They took us to a protected reef off Buck's Island so the sealife is used to divers and not being threatened. I was looking down and a sea turtle was swimming right above me, my husband had to grab me to point it out. We saw a couple turtles and they were just eating on the bottom and let us get completely around them and didn't swim away. Those with cameras got great pics. We saw reef sharks, jelly fish, and a barracuda hunting in a school of fish, along with the other usual sightings. This is our 2nd time diving in St. Thomas and I wish the water was clearer, but I guess nothing compares to the visibility in the Cayman Islands. Since it was such a small group, we had time so they offered us the option to do a 3rd tank dive ($45 extra). They supplied us with all dive gear, dont know if they offer wetsuits or not, we didn't need them for this time of year and we have our own rash guards. Definitely convenient if your coming in on a cruise ship.

      Best dive!!!

The reef is well and beautiful! Pet sharks followed as we dove, but no worries. The crew was friendly and so helpful. Best five ever!
