Day trip to Gozo

Derek_A, May 2026
Pick up from hotel was great. On arrival at post rather chaotic. We were eventually squeezed onto a boat for the crossing to Gozo. No briefing or knowledge of where life vests were. Chaos once arrived trying to find your driver. Eventually we were off with George who took us round the Island. Very knowledgeable and made sure everyone on the ATV understood and saw the sights. Lunch was at a local restaurant excellent food and some wine as well. Same chaos on the boat on the way back with every on packed like sardines. We stopped for a while at the Blue Lagoon for those that wanted to swim. On arrival back on Malta we were met by Ronnie, the driver who had picked us up originally from the hotel. A smooth drive back completed a busy day. Special mention the Ronnie the mini bus driver who was great and made everyone feel very welcome.

Lovely day trip to Gozo

This is an excellent way to see the main sites of Gozo in one day. Our driver was informative and friendly. We could have used more time to see the citadel and less time at the beach with the now collapsed arch, but that was primarily because boat rides into the inland sea cave weren’t operating. The swim stop at the Blue Lagoon was a lovely way to end the trip. Overall a wonderful day.

Good experience

Steven_H, May 2026
The excursion was very nice, very laid-back. Lots of driving through streets. More driving than I was expecting. Starts out on a boat, then goes to another island, and then you get on your off-road vehicle. We misunderstood about blue Lagoon Beach as it was the last thing we did as we were going back.

An awesome adventure

Rafiq_J, May 2026
It was great exploring Gozo island as it has charm and much to offer. The views of the mediterranean Sea was great and it was nice to get freshly squeezed pomegranate juice.

The beauty of gozo

Romain_M, Apr 2026
Gozo is beautiful, the experience has been very good, our guide, Silvio, drove us in some amazing places for landscape The buffet food was alright, the unlimited wine was not good but we knew/guess it in advance, where in the world we can have a decent one for free for unlimited amount 😂 Buggy is fun, but bit noisy, The 6h tour in buggy only went very fast, so it was a good tour The way back to Malta by boat was good too, the pilot went to few nice caves etc…

This was an absolutely stand out experience from beginning to end. So well coordinated and managed by all involved. Our guide George was fantastic and kind...he ensured we didn't miss a thing and kept us on track to see everything. He absolutely made the trip for us. From beginning to end this was an impressive experience

Gozo and Comino are beautiful and worth the visit. Highlights were The Citadel, the Salt Pans, and the lagoons on Comino. It would have been extremely helpful if our guide had been more knowledgeable about the history of the islands and had a better command of English, since we requested an English-speaking guide.

If you would like to see the main places of interest in Gozo in just one day, this is a great way. Our tour guide Uwe was kind and very informative. We wish we have stopped for longer at the Blue Lagoon as described in the offer. Lunch was tasty.

An amazing day on Gozzo, everyone should do it.

Anne_S, Mar 2026
It was a long day but we saw so much. Our pick up was 8.15 am punctual and it took about 50 minutes to arrive at the dock.We then went on a boat for about 35 min to Gozzo. At 10.am we arrived there & we found out Buggy driver who had a sign with our name on it. Our adventure on Gozzo begins. Lunch was about 12.00 o'clock and was a buffet it was quiet nice and very efficient. The afternoon we stopped at many more lovely scenic places. 4.15 we caught the boat off Gozzo and passed the Blue Lagoon on the way back to mainland Malta. Our transfer was there to greet us and about a 50 minute drive back to Sliema we got back to our accommodation about 6 pm.

My guide was Lukas - the best guide ever. I chose this kind of trip (by Jeep) to see more than pictures in folders, and I don't regret!!! Also, happily met new friends from Switzerland, and we had the most wonderful time spent there on Gozo. Recommend it.

Very good tour, our guide was excellent and a bonus being a local. Maybe do some research in advance of what you would like to see at the stop locations. Lunch was good as was the boat journeys. No stop/swim at blue grotto (possibly due to the time of year, February - but there were others swimming there).

The only way to see Gozo from a local perspective!

GregnAlmira_R, Dec 2025
The best way to see all of Gozo! Our guide took us to places that were really enjoyable and was full of knowledge about the island and its history. My 14 year old daughter usually doesn't enjoy travel, but this time....she has already said she wants to go back soon and enjoy a few days on Gozo, not just a one day adventure. I think we all fell in love with the trip. The lunch was also very well prepared and served.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Wow that is really a great compliment for us. Thank you for your lovely feedback🙌🙌😊

The highlight of our trip!

Stephen_M, Dec 2025
We booked this excursion at the last minute and I'm so glad we did. It became the absolute highlight of our stay. Mo, our driver was so much fun. He took us on a magical mystery tour of Gozo and delighted us along the way with his knowledge. He also took us off the beaten track to a few little golden nuggets that you would not see if you'd been on a set bus journey. We stopped for a delicious lunch and everything was just a lovely, with a lively easy pace. I'd very highly recommend this tour for history, nature, culture, architecture and art which we found to be great value for money. We covered many sites on one easy trip with this excursion. If you end up with Mo as your driver, he'll most likely speak your language too.

Worst tour experience in europe

Xiaoai_S, Nov 2025
Don't waste your time and money with this tour. This tour was a disaster from the moment I tried to confirm the hotel pickup. I called the tour operator and sent WhatsApp messages a day in advance but never got a reply. For the 8-hour trip, 7 people (including the driver) were crammed into a jeep that belonged in a scrapyard. The front passenger window was broken. The Polish driver just drove us from A to B; he barely said a word about the sights, local culture, or history. We skipped places we were supposed to visit (like the old temples) and instead were dumped at the Blue Window in freezing winds for nearly an hour with absolutely nothing to do. I strongly advise everyone not to book this tour. You will not have a good experience.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

good morning , I am sorry about this , as far as i know you sent a message on sunday evening when the offices are closed . when you called in the morning we answred to all your questions. you polish driver is a very educated and informative driver . first thing in the morning he ask each client if they would like to go to the temples or not. as for the inland sea you have 15 mins ( not 1 hour) to see the inalnd sea and fungus rock too. it is part of the program so i do not know why you are complaining about this.

Excellent

Pilar_S, Nov 2025
The experience is very well organised. Our guide was Morad and he is amazing, he made the tour super fun and interesting. He also spoke all our languages, so we all understood well the explanations. He was also very flexible with the tour and asked our preferences and interests. I was not feeling very good and he also paid attention to me and my needs. For those reasons and the beauty of Gozo, we fully recommend the tour :))

Jeep trip to Gozo - excellent guides and super value

Neil_F, Oct 2025
Seamless transfers. Fab guides with lots of local knowledge. Open backed Jeep so tie your hair up and plenty of sunscreen needed. Lunch was very efficient and plenty of choice- buffet style. Got a real flavour of Gozo in a day - well worth the trip and great value for money. Only downside for us was the sea was incredibly choppy for the blue lagoon sea swim but great to visit although very very busy

Relaxing Gozo day - lunch not great

Lauren_A, Aug 2025
Fun relaxing day touring Gozo. Trucks are a great way to see the island although they are a tight fit and would be tough for anyone larger than 6’ 200 lbs. swam, visited some sights and met fun travelers. Excursion comes with lunch which was not good. If you just want salad and cold pasta you will be fine. Austin was lovely and we enjoyed hi .

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Potential of a good tour but too many things let it down

Melissa_S, Jul 2025
Very poor tour guide. Mixed languages. Little info given about Gozo, late for visits compared to the other groups. Worst and oldest Jeep. All 6 of us had bad back ache after. Guide was from Gozo and spent most time saying how awful Malta was. Late for lunch so little left. No warning of what we were going to see when. Almost missed the boat at the end so got the worst seats and in the sun. Definitely not worth the money (with this guide) and will be writing to the company to complain officially.

Beautiful Gozo

Be prepared for bumpy roads, lots of steep roads, but beautiful scenery. Great tour guide. Lunch could have been locally produced food.

I imagine you’ve seen The Apprentice.

Alf_D, May 2025
Lord Sugar shuffles off a bunch of under talented hopefuls to run a tour for paying members of the public. The clueless recruits have profit in mind and no idea about what a tour is supposed to be. They pick terrible locations and give no guidance and stupid amounts of time for each tour item…some too long and some too short. They deliver poor catering and transport and a genuinely underwhelming experience. That, in a nutshell is the day I experienced, despite having used Viator for many previous exceptional days out, so I write this as a fan of the site. We were collected by a driver in a minibus a few minutes after 8am. I have to assume the charm school was closed for his training session as all he said was “Davis” and then pointed in the van. It became quickly apparent that of the planned 8 hour day, nearly 4 would be in the minibus as it wound its way the full length of Malta, with multiple pick ups. A side note here…if you’re in Valetta there is a ferry that will get you to Gozo in 45 minutes. We took nearly 3 hours. Arriving finally at our “speedboat transfer” to the island, it appeared there may have been some “bending” of the description “speed boat”. It was a fairly rickety and very slow moving tub, which chugged from the north of Malta to Gozo. I’m a 54 year old man with a dodgy ankle. If that’s a speedboat then I’m Usain Bolt. On arrival, we were split into smaller groups and allocated a guide/driver and a vehicle. We were given a tiny 4x4 for 5 of us. The vehicles had clocked more miles than Ben Hur’s chariot and in the words of the driver were about to be retired as they were knackered. The driver was a cheery fellow, who didn’t seem to know much English and therefore told us almost 100% of nothing as we drove around. The first stop was “photo stop”. Literally nothing to photograph, but we got out for 10 minutes and then back in the car from the Flintstones. 25 minutes later we were stopping again. A beautiful square with a big and ornate church and small street bars/cafés. I know nothing about where we were as the guide said “you know…big church. 10 minutes here to get drink and look around”. Not sure here is worth explaining to the less seasoned traveller that 10 minutes won’t even get you a menu in the Med. It was a nice enough place to have spent an hour with a small wander and a coffee. But…a strict 10 minutes was allotted and off we went again. Next was a photo stop for 10 minutes at the famous red beach. Here’s the trick…it’s beach coloured. Also it was about a mile away. Back in the car for another 30 minutes to the Citadel. Actually worth visiting but only 30 minutes allowed as we had an authentic Maltese lunch awaiting us! The excitement by now was at fever pitch given we had been going for about 4.5 hours and had only been out of a vehicle for an hour. I was only in Malta a week, so not as familiar with the cuisine as Gordon Ramsay, but I’d seen a menu or two and most menus contained rabbit, rich pasta sauces, flavourful grilled fish…that kind of thing. Maybe I’d got it wrong because the Maltese Marco Pierre White dolloped up tinned tuna, a bowl of salad, a Dolmio pasta and some rice and potato. Served with a slice of Mr Kipling’s lower rent cake as desert. Back in the bone shaker and more pointless 10 minute stops, including the salt planes where our “guide” said “you know, salt” about 50 times and then showed us into a small dirty cave with an even smaller dirty man sifting salt with his hands. We arrived back at our hotel after 10 hours. In all that time we had been actually seeing things for a total of 2 hours and had been ferried around in a desperate set of different transport for 8 hours. If you fancy Gozo, do yourself a favour and get the cheap, fast ferry from Valetta. Get a Bolt for about €10 when you get there and go to the Citadel - you can use a good hour or two of wandering and there seemed to be a nice restaurant there. You’ll actually see something and won’t spend 8 hours being dragged about in a knackered 4x4.
