Yousef was a genuinely...

Daniel_R, May 2026
Yousef was a genuinely nice and friendly guy. Unfortunately, the tour itself was disappointing as we barely followed the original itinerary. The lunch provided was quite small and just okay. We were also expecting a driver, but instead ended up driving the jeep ourselves, which wasn’t a huge issue but still unexpected. We stopped at a tequila tasting spot where we tried several options, but it felt like we were being pressured to buy a bottle. Overall, the experience was just okay, but it didn’t live up to our expectations.

Terrible experience, Viator subcontracted the tour and the tour operator did not show up and refund was denied by Viator

pratimaramroop, Apr 2026
Tour operator did not show up at pick up location, and phone number to call the operation was not in service. For cruise passenger, I highly recommend sticking with booking tours though the cruise directly or book on the spot with vendor. We got off MSC cruise in Cozumel and instructions on our Jeep tour ticket said to meet at Hooters. New fast, there is no Hooters, the restaurant was shut down and now called Now & Then (locals helped us navigate to figure it out.) We went to the old Hooters location and called the tour operator; no response. Upon return, I called Viator, who I booked this tour with…Viator subcontracted this tour out and the short of it said that are not able to issue a refund because the tour operator did not approve. SUCKS and RIPOFF. We traveled April 2026.

Wonderful Private Tour

Ed_F, Dec 2025
We had a lovely visit to Cozumel thanks to our guide Emily. We saw Mayan ruins, taste tasted some yummy chocolate and tequila, stopped at several picturesque spots...enjoyed some delicious tacos and got in some snorkeling. We got a lot in and it was definitely worth it. They're gonna try and sell ya stuff (which we DID buy because we wanted to) but that's tourism and we knew what we were getting into. Overall, a terrific experience. Thank Emily!

We had a fantastic time!...

Heather_R, Dec 2025
We had a fantastic time! Emily was our guide and she had the whole day planned out. We did tequila tasting, drove through the unbeaten path, explored a natural sinkhole with caves. Lunch was amazing! We learned the history of Cozumel…it was such a fun day!

Absolutely Amazing!

Melissa_B, Dec 2025
This was one of the best tour experiences we’ve ever had. We felt like VIPs with this private tour and it was sooo worth it! No waiting for other people, or crowded tour, and a personalized experience based on our interests. Our guide, Alejandra was absolutely amazing and gave us the very best Cozumel experience. Our snorkel master and waiters at the beach cub were also phenomenal. We may only book private excursions moving forward if they are anything like this experience. Thank you for making our trip so amazing Alejandra! 🥰

Not expected

I booked a jeep excursion for two. My guide was wonderful! We were suppose to see ruins, snorkeling, eco park, and the east coast of Cozumel. We only saw the east coast and a Tequila tasting (which we were not suppose to do). We didn’t do ANYTHING else that I signed up for. Our guide did her best, however. Granted, it did rain which was unusual, but we still could have seen the ruins, the east coast, and possibly snorkel. Our poor guide was given a jeep with the check engine light on the whole time. The windshield wipers only worked for a few seconds, so she had to keep turning on the wipers after 5 seconds, repeatedly. Viator and the tour operator should be ashamed to call this an excursion. They took our money, no problem, but failed to provide the promised water bottles and snorkeling gear. Don’t book this excursion, it was nothing like it was billed, again, our poor driver did her best! We even had a /Mexican policeman at a checkpoint, threaten to confiscate the jeep, because our driver didn’t have the appropriate drivers license. She had to call the tour operator and he talked to the policeman, before the policeman let us go. Viator should do a better job vetting their tour operators. Just because you book through Viator, do not think you are going to get a reputable or safe tour.

Cozumel Tours and Excurions (Not booked through Carnival)

Andrew_K, Dec 2025
This experience, if booked through Viator, will require you to leave the port and walk to a plaza just outside the port. There weren't any signs or markings for the company at the port or outside the port to help me find where they were. The company was responsive and helpful via email and phone though when I reached out to find them. There was no tour itinerary given to us so we didn't really know where on the island we were going to go. This would've been good to know for our planning and expectations. However I didn't call and talk to the company ahead of time to ask these questions either. I would suggest calling and talking with the company if you have specific things you want to see, espetthe Mayan sites. There is a place on the island of Cozumel but we weren't able to go and see it because it is a business and it closed early (didn't make it because of my poor planning). Overall we saw a good portion of the island, got some snorkeling in, had a good lunch and made it back to the ship. Julio was a great guide with good knowledge of the area. If there is anything specific you want to do, just ask the guides and they will accommodate you if they can. We stopped at a small ranch where they had us try homemade chips, salsa and guacamole and did a tequila tasting. The tequila is for sale and the guy folks at the ranch want tips for info and tastings. The beaches on the east side (ocean side) were great. We didn't go into Downtown Cozumel so make sure to ask the guide if you want to go there. Overall, the tour was good.

Julio was amazing

Aleyda_C, Nov 2025
Julio was very kind, funny, and informative. He let us know exactly what was happening and where we were going and we had such a fun time exploring Cozumel.

Bebe is the best!

Maren_O, Jun 2025
It was super personalized and we learned so much about the history of the island. The mayan cultural experience was fantastic!

Gerry, our tour guide was...

Alexandra_L, May 2025
Gerry, our tour guide was absolutely amazing! We were a little iffy at first due to nobody replying back to my message on here as quickly as another tour did. Then when we got our directions we were told near the 7 eleven and it was a 2 minute walk(not). Since we were not given an address it was a little difficult getting out of the port and onto the street to find it. Once someone finally came and confirmed we were at the correct location we were fine.

Jeep tour w/ Julio

Tom_W, Mar 2025
Decent options on what you want to do, not where they want you to go. Julio allowed us to pick which stops to make and how long to stay

Best excursion in Cozumel

Allyson_B, Mar 2025
We’ve been to Cozumel 3 times and this was by far the best excursion we have been on our driver went above and beyond to take us to some of the most spectacular areas of the island that we have never seen before. He made it very personal and allowed us to plan out our day we would highly recommend this excursion to anyone!

Disappointed

Tammy_J, Mar 2025
Nobody was ready for us at the location the directions stated. We had to have a tour guide from another company call. Then they stated they would be right there but we waited 45 minutes! When they showed up we had to walk 10 minutes to where he parked. Plus they expected 4 of us plus guide to ride in one jeep. We convinced them we needed another jeep, as the description states, so another 20 min delay. Finally got on our tour. If you remove all that we had a good time however I would not recommend based on all the delays and hassles! Never have had this happen with Viator.

Bit disappointing but still enjoyable

Shona_D, Mar 2025
I’ll give negatives first and you can make your own minds up 1- the jeep in photo used to promote the trip is NOT what we got. Ours had certainly been round the block a million times with some very worrying ‘undercarriage’ noises implying the back wheel was about to come off. 2-So noisy that any conversation was near impossible. Also, Extremely difficult for my husband and I to get into. Yes, we are 60+yrs and not as mobile as most but we have traveled in jeeps before and they have a step to assist getting in. This one didn’t and to get in was at my hip height. My husband is also 6’5 ex rugby player and almost couldn’t squeeze himself into seat but managed with huge effort. So if you are at all less mobile or bigger than average don’t book. 3- have an idea what you’d like to do. We asked to see the ‘real Cozumel’ not touristy things but according to our guide the whole of Cozumel is set up for tourism so hard to find what we’d hoped for. She suggested a trip to a ‘village’ that explained the chocolate making process and then a tequila experience which we thought would be fun. But it turns out this is a ‘ show’ of Mayan Warriors describing their existence and how the cocoa bean was used as trade and how they made chocolate from it. It was interesting enough but at an extra $50 plus gift shop ‘guilt purchase’ it was an expense we hadn’t budgeted for. As a result of this staged touristy experience we cancelled the tequila trip! Now the positives 1- our guide Bebe was adorable helpful, kind and knowledgeable 2- the tribal trip was actually interesting so if you like history and ‘re-enactment” then this is up your street 3- lunch was decent and filling. (drinks cost extra) no beach as it’s a rocky coast so sat at chairs where we had lunch 4- LOADS of fish of all colours and size! We took food for them and were swarmed. Truly wonderful and totally made our day. All in, we did enjoy our day and many would give it 5 stars but for us I think a 4 is fair.

Driver was a no show!

Karl_T, Mar 2025
We were unable to locate the driver after several phone calls to customer service while at the cruise port. Requested a refund when I return from the cruise and was denied.

Pass on this excursion

Lisa_B, Feb 2025
Meeting location was incorrect - we eventually found them while giving up on finding them. Map showed them at a different location. We reserved 2 jeeps, but they put us in the same jeep. We asked to take the top off the jeep and were told NO. Our windshield was cracked, the A/C barely worked and the interior was dirty. There was no way for us to communicate with the driver - we wanted to stop on the "wild side" of the island but the driver kept driving. The tequila tasting was nice, but the price was $$$. Lunch and snorkeling were only ok. We skipped the snorkeling and had him take us back to the boat. The tour did stop at a store, but we didn't see anything interesting. I would advise you to NOT book with this company unless you want to just follow the lead car around and learn nothing about the city.

Not exactly as we expected

Maria_W, Feb 2025
Wasn’t able to drive jeep, it was driven by tour guide. Last time we did similar tour we followed the guide in a jeep we got to drive. Missed out on seeing Mayan ruins, did not know we had to chose between chocolate tour or ruins. Also did not see lighthouse on tour. Felt we had less of a tour this time, your guide was friendly though

Charlie is the best!

Andrea_C, Feb 2025
Charlie was our driver and we had the best time.....I sure would enjoy some more of the shrimp cocktail that we stopped for.....it was delicious! This is a great way to see the island!

Great day for 2 mature couples

Margie_B, Feb 2025
We rode with our guide Bibi and she was wonderful. Prior to leaving Bibi asked us questions about what we were interested in and what we wanted to see and do. And along the way she gave us every opportunity to stop to shop or take photos or look at things or whatever we wanted or needed to do or see. When we registered for this activity none of us were sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised at what we got - an air conditioned tour of the beautiful island of Cozumel with some great information provided by Bibi about local customs and culture it was a relaxing day. Luis was an excellent snorkeling teacher. He was patient and kind with us and I would not hesitate to go snorkeling with him again. Thank you Luis! Thank you Bibi!

Cozumel Private Tour

Louisa_P, Feb 2025
Charlie was a great tour guide. It was also nice having just our group. The jeep was comfortable and they were very accommodating.

Jeep Excursion

tdvrowe, Feb 2025
We were a small group of 4 people so our tour guide drove our jeep.. We enjoyed the Mayan ruins (cost $15 an adult). The lunch and snorkeling was very good. Our driver was very knowledgeable about Cozumel. Our guide stopped at a tequila stand. We don’t drink alcohol so this was a waste of our time since it was out of the way. We were not asked if we wanted to stop and we would have preferred more time snorkeling.

A blast in Cozumel

Josh_J, Jan 2025
Our tour guide Jerry was amazing. He knew a ton about the Mayan history and culture. He made sure we had a great experience. Took us to an amazing restaurant that had fantastic food.

Do Your Own Tour

Leisa_M, Jan 2025
Waste of time and money. The driver was nice and did his job but that was the extent of this trip being good. We said at the very beginning that we did not want to go to the tequila place. Yet we have drive down the very bumpy dirt roads and past a locked gate that he had a key to find ourselves at the tequila place where they are wearing the same shirt as our driver! Next stop we were taken to a restaurant, at lunch time, where we sat down and started to order, then someone in our group asked what was included with our tour. Just to find out that nothing there was included. We can’t imagine why we stopped. We drive another 20 minutes or so we reach a very beautiful resort that served us a taco/fajita lunch on the beach. This was the best part of the tour. They had snorkeling gear to use but we didn’t have much time left in our tour after late lunch to snorkel. We never went to Ecological park and lighthouse!!!

Private Jeep tour on Cozumel…5 hour tour…great experience

Mona_L, Jan 2025
Our jeep driver and guide, Carlos was wonderful. The weather was beautiful, but not warm enough to swim so Carlos took us around the entire island. We enjoyed our chats, our views and the many locations that we stopped to ask questions. The lunch of tacos was wonderful. The only complaint our group had about the entire experience was the not really knowing where to meet the guide once we were off of the boat. We kind of wandered around and asked other vendors and they suggested we go to the lighthouse to meet up with our guide. We luckily ran into Carlos at the lighthouse and went on with our tour. The address on the Viator website for meet up was across the island somewhere. Please change

Just Okay!!

fahrah, Jan 2025
The driver was a good guy and the vehicle was also good. We waited about an hour at the port until we were finally picked up. They went to the wrong port to get us! We lost 1hrs of our excursion! The lunch too was 3/5. The company gave us 2 Margerritas to compensate for the pick up mishap.

Great day trip out around Cozumel

Aaron_P, Jan 2025
We had an excellent day out with our tour guide Charlie who was very knowledgeable and informative about the island and local traditions. He was very accommodating and friendly throughout our trip. Was great to see lots of the island and lots of local areas. Tips for booking, Viator offer the option to change your visit date at no charge. We did this on arrival due to the weather forecast, but it seems this was not communicated properly with the local tour operator, which left us waiting longer than expected upon arrival. The tour operator were quick to correct this though. Would also recommend choosing a day other than Sunday as some businesses and parts of the tour were closed, again not communicated well by Viator. Overall great experience, would recommend to see the island.

Amazing tour with lots of activities privately guided by Julio

Timothy_N, Jan 2025
I travelled on a Virgin Voyage cruise and ported at Punta Langosta cruise terminal. A 2 minute walk and Julio Cesar was waiting for us and greeted us immediately. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We felt welcomed and he made sure we did all the activities we wanted. We went to amazing beaches, saw crocodiles, snorkelling, tequila tasting, and had delicious tacos for lunch (included). The jeeps were comfortable and had A/C. Overall it was a great tour that did not feel rushed and we still had time after the tour to explore the island before we returned to our ship. Thank you so much Julio!

Great Family Fun

Fredrick_G, Jan 2025
Carlos was amazing and great to work with. We had a little mix up about the meeting point so he ended up coming directly to us which made things easy. He has great knowledge about the Island and the Culture as we wanted our kids to actually learn something while on vacation and not just do Waterparks. He tailored this experience to what we wanted from the Caves, to Mayan Ruins, to our Snorkeling adventure. We must have seen 300 fish around us at one time. Simply amazing for my kids to have this experience. I highly recommend this trip for your family and do t forget to ask for Carlos.

Great tour

Courtney_K, Jan 2025
We had a great time with Moses as our guide. He listened to our preferences and took us where we wanted to go. He even went out of his way to accommodate our need for an ATM. The snorkeling was fantastic and the lunch was good.

Great Day in Cozumel

Angela_B, Jan 2025
We really enjoyed our day in Cozumel with Julio. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and history. We did a loop of the island and liked our stop at Playa Chen Rio the most. We wished we had spent more time there! Overall, it was a great visit.
