I went on a tour with Fraser and he’s so funny and full of interesting information - not just about chocolate but also the history of Belgium. We had a ton of delicious chocolates from a good selection of places including a family owned chocolate/ganache shop and a woman owned business. Definitely worth a visit if you like chocolate and are in Brussels

I had an amazing time on this chocolate tour! Our guide, Fraser, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and full of knowledge. He made the history of Belgian chocolate genuinely fascinating, breaking it down in a fun and engaging way that kept everyone interested from start to finish. In addition to learning a ton about how Belgian chocolate came to be world-famous, we also got to sample so many delicious pieces along the way—each one better than the last. It was the perfect mix of education and indulgence. I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belgium or looking for a sweet and memorable experience. Fraser truly made it unforgettable! 🍫✨

Tasty Chocolate Tour

Shannon_G, May 2026
Fraser was a charismatic, witty and knowledgeable host of our chocolate tasting tour. 1.5 hours was a perfect amount of time to learn some history of Brussels and absorb all the chocolate details he shared. We tasted chocolates from 4 different chocolatiers (2 at each spot and ice cream) and learned so much about the families, businesses and origins of their specific businesses. Highly recommend!

Not worth the time or money

Fredika_R, Apr 2026
Rather than spend $35 and an afternoon on this tour, spend 20 minutes viewing YouTube videos about chocolate shops in Brussels and then wander around through the areas of the Grand Place and Saint Hubert Galleries to have a similar experience. Just google chocolate shoppes and they will all come up on the map. The guide was not welcoming, never introduced himself to the group until asked specifically what his name was and only mentioned that he liked to drink beer, positioned the group in the direct sunlight in the middle of the most crowded area of the Grand Place. When asked about this preference of chocolate shops and flavors in Brussels he directly refused to answer the question which seemed very dishonest. Is this information to be hidden or worth being gatekept?? State secret? I don’t know. Save your money. Walk around. It’s chocolate and it’s based on personal preference -milk or dark chocolate, filled (pralines) or just ganache ? You decide. You don’t need an unfriendly tour guide to tell you what you like. Save your money and your time.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Fredrika, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience on the tour did not meet your expectations. What you described — not feeling welcomed, the lack of engagement from the guide, and not receiving clear answers to your questions — is not the standard we aim to deliver, and it is understandably disappointing when a tour falls short in these ways. We took your feedback very seriously and acted within hours of receiving it. We will be speaking directly with the guide and reviewing the tour in detail to better understand what happened and ensure this is properly addressed and prevented in the future. This particular tour has consistently received very strong feedback, and it is one we have been genuinely proud of due to the level of engagement and experience it usually provides. For that reason, we were also quite shocked to read your comments, as they are very much at odds with the feedback we typically receive. However, regardless of its past performance, what matters most is your personal experience on the day, and we fully respect that it did not meet your expectations. I have already processed a full refund for your booking. We never want anyone to feel that their time or money has been spent on something that did not provide value or enjoyment. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback so openly. While it is difficult to receive, it is also important and genuinely helps us improve. I am truly sorry that we let you down on this occasion. Warm regards, Ewelina Telej Operation Director SANDEMANs Tours

Fraser was an awesome tour guide! Super friendly and engaging. The chocolates we tried were fantastic.

Excellent tour for chocolate lovers.

Fun, informative chocolate tour with some great history lessons and humor thrown in. Fraser was very knowledgeable, accommodating to my daughter’s food allergies and a great companion for a couple of hours!

No thanks- I'll take myself on my own chocolate tour.

We did many tours while in Europe and this one was a disappointment. The tour guide was very hard to hear- she needed a microphone. She would turn her head to point something our and we couldn't hear what she was talking about. We asked her for her favorite places to get affordable chocolate and she took us to a place that had very expensive chocolate. We expected to have may different chocolate tastings, but in the end had 4 small pieces and a choice of a cup of mousse or ice cream. We tried a bitter cocoa bean where the taste lingered and we didn't have anything to chase it down. I wouldn't choose this tour again.

Great tour, great chocolate, great guide

Chocolate Tour was a must do. Chocolate was delicious! Tried a lemon chocolate that we will dream about. Guide Sybil was nice and informative. Only issue was occasionally hard to hear in busy Grand Place.

Highly recommend!

Fraser, is a friendly chap. He made sure we all felt at ease, and took care of everyone's individual dietary needs regarding allergies and alcohol based chocolates. He was knowledgeable and I learnt about the historic connections between chocolate and Brussels. I enjoyed the samples and the fun energy Fraser brought to the experience.

The perfect short tour for those who wish to learn a bit about Brussels without taking an entire day tour. Walk around the main city square and visit some of the most prominent chocolate shops in the area. Our guide was wonderful and the chocolate was of course delicious.

Fun tour

Linda_D, Apr 2026
Fun tour. We learned about Belgium history and the chocolate making process while getting to sample different chocolates.

Brussels chocolate tour

Gail_S, Apr 2026
Our tour guide does not know how to project a voice. She did not have a microphone or any way too, amplify her voice. I thought the chocolate stores that we stopped in, we’re just OK. I didn’t sample anything that I felt that I wanted to buy.

Forrest Gump was right (sort of)

Daniel_M, Apr 2026
This tour is like a box of pralines. Fraser is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. In addition to sampling chocolates, there is a bevy of information about the evolution of chocolate from a drink of prestige for the upper class.

Deliciously recommended!

Richard_R, Apr 2026
Fraser, our guide to the world of Belgian chocolate, in the beautiful heart of Brussels, at the Grand Place, was an amazing ambassador to its history and experience. Fantastic hour and a half well spent, enjoying fine chocolates, as well as learning about the history chocolates in Belgium and around Europe.

Great tour with Fraser

Mette_K, Mar 2026
Wonderful tour with Fraser who is a great story teller (and I just loved his Scottish accent). Most chocolate shops are located close to the Grand Place so not a lot of walking. I loved the tour but had expected much more chocolate!!

Definitely a must!

Enjoyable and tasty tour of chocolatiers.

We very much enjoyed this tour. We learnt about the history of chocolate in Brussels as well as getting to visit several chocolate makers and hear about their histories.

Could have been good

Kathleen_C, Feb 2026
Unfortunately we didn't get to participate in the tour. We were delayed a bit due to the rain, but we got to the meeting point 4 minutes past the meeting time and did not see the guide. After contacting the company via Viator, I was able to contact the guide hoping we could meet up with the rest of the group. Turns out my partner and I were the only people signed up for the tour and the guide had decided to leave for the day and could not come back. We also were not given any sort of refund.

Belgium Chocolate Tour

Dina_H, Jan 2026
Best experience - a little history not just about chocolate, but also about Belgium. The selections of places was ideal, and our favourite was Mary's Chocolate (and the story behind it). Our guide was amazing to and answered all our questions and gave us a lot of additional insight. Worth doing it.

Fraser is the 🐐

Fraser was a great guide who was very informative and had the perfect personality for a tour like this. Got to try pieces of chocolate that I wouldn’t normally go for and enjoyed them all. Would definitely recommend if visiting!

Chocolates, history and a bit of walking

Perfect walk around the Grand Place in Brussels with history, chocolates, jokes and hot chocolate. Really fun way to spend 90mins while getting to sample some of the best chocolates too. Went with husband and 2 teenage boys. Really good value tour. Fraser was a great guide. Highly recommend.
