This tour was absolutely fantastic! The tour guide, Matt Alice, was not only well-versed in the history, but also incredibly entertaining. She remembered almost everyone’s names as well as any personal details they shared, she would bring them up several times throughout the tour. They gave the experience an incredible feel of individuality and professionalism.

This was an excellent experience. A very friendly and welcoming tour guide, but with a very apt, dark sense of humour. The tales told were a carefully balanced mixture of historical facts and more supernatural and speculative ideas, all bound together with an fantastic amount of entertaining patter and conversation with those of us on the tour. Overall, a very worthwhile experience, and highly recommended, regardless of what precisely you are looking for.

Fantastic day trip from York! I was visiting my nephew, who has lived in York for three years, and has wanted to venture to Whitby. This trip included more sights than we expected. Our driver/tourguide, Kevin, was amazing - knowledgeable, kind, and had a great sense of humor. Every stop on this trip was wonderful. The ride on the steam train from Goathland to Whitby took us back in time. Our only recommendation is to include another hour in Whitby! 😊 There’s so much to see there. We explore the Abbey, had a pint at the Whitby Brewery, browsed the Jet shops, and had delicious fish & chips at Trenchers (takeaway due to time). Go on this tour with Mountain Goat Tour, you will not be disappointed!
