The best way to experience Calabria is to slow down. Departing from Tropea, we will head to the countryside to appreciate an authentic gastronomic and cultural experience. It will start with an educational tour of the local farm, getting close to nature and animals Walking through the countryside and the veggies garden, we’ll learn about various aspects of botany, horticulture, and harvesting methods. We will familiarize ourselves with the milk and dairy production process of Pecorino del Monte Poro and Ricotta. During a traditional pasta-making class, we’ll discover the secrets and tips to make our own pasta meal. After the "hard job", we will enjoy a genuine dinner in a beautiful bucolic atmosphere, embracing the healthy benefits of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Be ready to acknowledge to yourself that you can make, easily, pizza and bread at home. At the end of class, a carbo lovers’ dinner will be served on the premise.

Mani in Pasta (hands in the dough)! What we offer is not only a cooking class. While preparing the dishes we talk (even in Italian, why not), and we laugh and learn. Marianna, the Tropean chef, is the classic "yesteryear lady", a lovely housewife who keeps the secrets of traditional Calabrian cuisine. We will make some traditional fresh pasta in each session we offer. The typical pasta of Tropea (and not only) - 'fileja and maltagliati' or "orecchiette, "tagliatelle", "cavatelli" - will be seasoned for tasting with 2 other exclusive products of the area: the 'sweet' red onion of Tropea PGI (as a vegetarian option) and the “n'duja” of Spilinga PGI, famous spicy spreadable salami based of pork and Calabrian pepper or with special chickpeas and sage recipe. Plus, Marianna always prepares a surprise as a special extra dish to taste altogether. All this in a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere and, naturally, all accompanied by some good Calabrian wine that we will taste at the time of the aperitif and for the whole duration of the activity.
