Tsukiji Fish Market Tour
Kazu-san was well prepared with handouts, maps, and even visuals to explain the history of Tsukiji fish market and the sushi making process. He gave us plenty of personal reccomendations and every place he took us to was delicious!

Yes - recommend
This was an excellent experience and by far my favorite Viator activity in Tokyo. Loved the hustle of the market, the food and the locals.

Fun morning/afternoon in Tsukiji with superb food!
Wonderful experience seeing the different restaurants, vendors, and sights of the Tsukiji Fish Market -- we got a great sense for the area. The food was excellent and the guide, Kent, very knowledgeable.

Awesome tour of the fish market!
What a wonderful experience, eating your way through an exciting and charming fish market! Robert-san was the perfect guide, giving us historical information as he led us to taste perfect fruit, snacks, wagyu, dashi, and sushi. He made sure everyone in the group felt included. I felt comfortable enough to visit again on my own!

Tuna butchering made sushi special
We had a great tour, made better by being a small group and so we could personalize the tour. Excellent job by our guide. Details about the prep of tuna made sushi special.

Take Kanako’s food tour, you won’t be sorry or hungry.
Kanako is a great guide for this tour. Lots of food including A5 Wagyu beef that melted in my mouth good, sushi, mochi, seasonal fruit, eggs, etc. Learned about Tsukiji Market, food, vendors, and history. Kanako also helped me to get a quality knife. She is kind and knowledgeable.

Enjoyed the market!
We really enjoyed this experience during our first day in Tokyo. We learned a lot about what happens to the tuna from the time it was caught to the time we at it. We got to sample and compare tuna with 3 different fat contents. Sushi was very good. Our guide also helped us sample sake, fruits, egg roll, sweets in the market. Lastly we learned about shrines and temples. Our guide, Candy, was terrific.

When to visit

The Inner Market at Tsukiji Fish Market relocated to Toyosu in 2020, roughly 1.5 miles (2 kilometers) away from Tsujiki—head there to see the famed tuna auction.
The Outer Market, home to vendors and restaurants, still calls the original Tsukiji Fish Market home.
Take advantage of the many vendors in the Outer Market who sell some of the best sushi and freshest seafood you’ll ever taste.
The Outer Market of the Tsukiji Fish Market is technically wheelchair accessible, but not that easy to navigate due to the large crowds.
It’s free to enter the market, so you don’t need to buy Tsukiji Fish Market tickets.
