Top Sicily Snowmobiling in 2026

Take a break from the heat and crowds of the mainland and see Taormina and Mount Etna from the sea on this small-group boat tour. Depart Giardini Naxos to follow the coast, as you admire attractions such as the Grotta dell'Amore, Capo Taormina, the Grotta delle Sirene and the Scoglio dell'Elefante. Dive into the crystal clear waters off Isola Bella for a refreshing swim and relax on board while savoring Sicilian sweets and Prosecco.

Explore Europe's highest active volcano with this Jeep tour on Mount Etna. Join a nature guide and head up to about 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) to discover lava flows and extinct craters, plus take in the views over the Caldera del Valle del Bove. Then don a helmet and headlamp and venture into a lava tube to better to learn how lava flows are formed and cool.

Located on the island of Sicily, Mt Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe. Explore the different aspects of the dynamic mountain on this active tour from Catania which includes hiking up to the inner craters and (safely) entering a lava cave. See ancient lava flows, learn about the geological history of the volcano, and admire panoramic views of eastern Sicily.

Trekking in small groups Ascent by off-road vehicles along the panoramic northern slope up to 2,825 meters. From there, the hike continues on foot through volcanic scoria and lava bombs, with a 500-meter elevation gain, reaching the rim of the Central Crater at 3,380 meters. After a stop at the summit to observe the volcanic landscape, the descent is on foot down to 1,800 meters (approx. 7 km), crossing large gullies filled with soft volcanic sand. Main data: • Total distance (round trip): 12 km • Maximum altitude: 3,380 m • Minimum altitude: 1,800 m • Ascent: +500 m • Descent: -1,580 m (the long downhill section may be more demanding than the climb) • Difficulty: Suitable only for experienced hikers Note: Participants who decide during the excursion to return by bus from 2,850 m to 1,800 m must pay €70 instead of €50.
