We had such a great time on this food tour! There were 10 of us plus our guide, with a mix of Brits, Austrians, New Zealanders, and Americans. It was a really fun group and everyone got along great. Our guide, Haeji (“HJ”), was fantastic! She was born and raised in Seoul, knew the market inside and out, and took us to some great local spots for food and drinks. Along the way, she also shared interesting tidbits about the market, Korean language, culture, customs, and everyday life, which added a nice touch to the experience. She was bubbly, energetic, and just a lot of fun to be around. Her English was excellent (completely fluent with an American accent) and she was easy to understand the entire time. She also did a great job making sure everyone could hear her and kept the walking pace comfortable for the whole group. We stopped at about half a dozen places and tried around 15 different things, so you definitely get to experience a variety of food. It didn’t feel like we were just hitting the usual tourist spots either. It felt much more like being shown around by a local who knew exactly where to go and what we should try. There were also some drinks mixed in along the way, and at our second-to-last food stop we even ended up playing a few drinking games, which was a really fun way to wrap things up. Great food, lots of laughs, and a really fun group. This was easily one of the highlights of our time in Seoul, and we’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

This cooking class is really special. The old Hanok it was located in was beautifully fitted into a cooking studio. The menu was well thought out, and the instructor and owner, Ricky, was a spectacular host! We learned the history behind the dishes we cooked, how to cook them, and of course how to enjoy them. He even walked us to the nearby village to show us some dessert spots after the class had ended. He went above and beyond to make this class a memorable one and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you so much Ricky for putting on such a great class!

Kim was super friendly and helpful. He explained all the food options in advance to ensure we knew exactly what is involved - pork with the pork bbq (😉). His knowledge of the area, the history, the customs, is exactly why we booked a private tour for our first trip into this lovely city. We were not disappointed. We were super impressed and we have hopefully retained enough information for a million other things to try ourselves during the remainder of our short break. He gave us the confidence and knowledge to this. Thank you!
