Top San Gimignano Nature Walks in 2026

In medieval San Gimignano, saffron was worth more than gold. And the town paid its entire debt in tiny red threads picked at dawn. Also, this town of a few thousand people once had a skyline that bristled with seventy-two stone towers built not for defense but for bragging rights. This self-guided audio tour on the Tourific app covers seventeen stops across the walled old town, taking you along the pilgrim road where the wealth was traded. On the way, you’ll hear how rival families turned the town into an arms race in stone, and meet Fina, whose quiet suffering gave the town its gentlest legend. No group, no fixed start time. The tour runs on your phone with offline maps and audio. Pause for wine tasting at the hilltop fortress, duck into a frescoed church, and resume whenever you're ready. Over 25,000 travelers have used our self-guided tours. Every booking comes with a full refund guarantee. For travelers who want depth from a San Gimignano walking tour, not a checkbox visit.
