Wonderful Day in Osaka

Despite intense heat, Mayura Kai led us on a wonderful 8 hour tour in Osaka. We saw the sights we wanted to see (Osaka Castle, Kuromon Market, Dontonbori, etc) and took a lovely break from the heat for an indoor experience that Kai suggested (painting Daruma Dolls). Later that evening Kai guided us on a food tour that was a lot of fun.

Kevin was very knowledgeable and able to explain the history and culture really well. We took the metro from point to point. The tour was very organized. We got to see the highlights of the city which was great. Kevin also knew great places for photos and for shade. Only downside was walking in the heat but not much can be done about the weather. I would recommend fans and umbrellas if going in the summer.

Loved the class!! Prompt pickup at class time with short walk to host's home. Lovely set up and menu. Amazing time with Mari!!

Absolutely incredible experience last night with our guide Mari — hands down one of the best food tours I’ve ever done. The bar hopping was so thoughtfully curated and gave us the perfect mix of hidden local spots, amazing atmosphere, incredible food, and drinks we never would have found on our own. Every stop felt authentic and special, and Mari made the entire night feel effortless, fun, and personal. She was warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure everyone was having an amazing time. We left full, happy, and feeling like we experienced a side of Osaka we never could have discovered ourselves. Could not recommend this tour more highly!

Pros: Very memorable and...

Pros: Very memorable and informative tour, exploring areas of Osaka influenced by yakuza. Lots of fascinating history going through the low-income areas. Some dark stuff, but the tour still felt safe because it is Japan. Neutral: I didn't realize we were going through an active red light district at the end! For some reason I thought it was a historic former site or something. Surreal looking part of town that is technically a restaurant district. Cons: Although the tour guide was very talkative and friendly, they also had a lot of personal opinions thrown into the tour that could rub some people the wrong way.

Amazing food tour!

This was a highlight of our trip! We were so happy to be introduced to the areas of Temma and Kyobashi. Loved the vibe and the food. Tommy was our guide and he put together an amazing selection of locations with excellent atmosphere and food. The walk in between was part of the fun, we had great conversation and learned a bit about the customs and culture of the area. Recommended for sure.

Great experience

Great Service and appreciate the patience while we finalized the check-out process at our hotel. Driver arrived ~10 minutes early for our 2pm pick up. Checking out at the hotel, took longer than expected but driver was patient and accommodated us. Van (Nissan) was spacious and clean. Plenty of room for 4 people with 9 total bags. Highly recommended!
