The trip also includes a hike to Materuni Waterfalls - with a height of roughly 90 metres, it is the tallest and most magnificent waterfall at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kikuletwa Chemka Hot Springs Bicycle or Tuk Tuk Day Trip

Relax after your busy week in the beautiful turquoise water of the Kikuletwa Hot Springs (they are not really that hot but more refreshing)! Experience the way the locals travel by hopping in a Tuk Tuk and weaving your way through local Maasai villages, Baobab trees and farms to see how people live in the country side. When we arrive at the hot springs after about 1 - 1.5hrs travel enjoy the tranquility of the water in a quiet space or opt for the rope swing for a bit of excitement! Entry ticket and lunch will be provided. Tubes are available for hire. The hot springs are home to many Doctor fish who will clean your dead skin if you sit still! When you are ready we will return back to Moshi and drop you off at your desired location. Note: the amenities (including change rooms and toilets) at the hot springs are very basic so we would encourage guests to use the bathroom before leaving and wearing their swimming attire to start the tour. Don’t forget to bring towels!

This very remarkable Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 80m into its basin. The lovely and attractive path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2400m above sea level. It crosses through valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. On a clear day, great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding at some point and hiking boots are recommended especially during wet seasons. As this trip is so close to Moshi town it is ideal for those people with limited time but who would still like to see some of the nature and beauty that this region of Tanzania has to offer.

Rau Forest Bike tour

We will ride through Tpc sugar cane plantation area with its small farms and houses. You’ll cycle past schools, mosques and churches. Your journey takes you to the nearby rice fields, where you’ll make a stop and if you wish can lend a helping hand to the field workers. Afterwards you will have a better understanding how much hard work goes into one sack of rice. Enriched with this intense experience we visit a local family for lunch. Rice is one of the main components of meals in Tanzania and you will have the chance to taste it at their house in a traditional meal called Pilau. Get indulged by the hospitality of the local family while you sit at their veranda and share a meal and thoughts about life with them.
