What are people saying about Melbourne

This was a wonderful...
This was a wonderful tour. Kevin was a great guide, full of information about what we were seeing. He also gave us great tips to get the most out of our penguin parade experience. One thing to be prepared for- the penguin parade is very popular and they sell thousands of tickets per night. I didn’t realize it would be so crowded. But thanks to Kevin, I had good seats and knew where to go on the boardwalks to see them waddling to their burrows. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Amazing tour Well organised
This tour was well organised and informative I’m an older lady in my 70s ticking off my bucket list and this definitely is doable for an older person and did not disappoint. The scenery on the island is breathtaking Our tour guide Bonnie was very informative also taking the time to point out all the wildlife along the way and what steps have been taken to protect them I would definitely recommend. Thank you for an amazing day

The Greatest Road
Amazing day, brilliant memories made, we saw the most beautiful sights and really enjoyed sharing that experience with others on the trip. Luke our tour guide was “unBELIEVable”… he really made us laugh as well as driving us, providing loads of interesting information and looking after everyone all day. The schedule was packed which meant we got to see so many beautiful spots along the road. We even saw koalas and dolphins! It was the greatest of ocean roads.

Great day out of Melbourne! Definitely Recommend
Great day out. Really enjoyed all the stops. Great sightseeing and doing this tour in reverse was the best way to do it and only a small group of 12. Tour guide was very nice and never felt too rushed. Also shout out to the amazing bakery we stopped at.. had the most delicious meat pie.

Great tour, good size, got to see animals!
The tour was really nice. We got picked up at 10:30 and got back around 9:10pm because it was winter season here. We first drove to Moonlit Sanctuary and saw some animals. We were lucky to see many animals out and about moving. Then we went to Woolamai Beach and took some photos before making our way to Cowes for a meal break. Next, we went to Nobbies (note there are no restrooms there) and then finally to the Penguin Parade. Note that the number of penguins seen cannot be controlled by the tour so it was already nice enough to see some penguins walk uphill on our tour. When you get your tickets scanned, bear right and keep walking to the general viewing area. You can upgrade your seats at your own costs but we didn’t. When you get to the seating area, sit at the furthest right side as the penguins will bear left upon making ashore on the beach. Also note that you cannot take photos nor videos nor stand up while in the viewing area and staff will be monitoring around. This is because of the blue light in the flash that will frighten and disorient them. Some people will try to sneak a few photos but wil be kindly reminded to put them away. After 10-15 minutes viewing, you will need to make your way back to the boardwalk to walk then walk uphill. There you can have better chances to take photos and videos but remember, NO FLASH! It was nice as we got around 2 hours at that place but one hour was used to sit and wait for them to come ashore. Nonetheless, we saw some penguins walk uphill and then we got on the bus and it was about 2 hours (due to traffic) before we got dropped off at our different pick up locations. The tour said it was max about 30 people but we ended up having only 16 people which was nice. Everyone was punctual and we did everything on the package. The tour guide didn’t really engage much with us nor introduce himself but everything was self-explanatory and he got us to where we needed to go so that was good enough. Overall, good tour, smooth ride. Definitely need to dress warm if you come during winter season meaning nice thick jacket, scarf, hat and waterproof shoes due to sudden showers and maybe umbrella if it’s not too windy.

Great travel to Twelve Apostles
The trip with Go West was amazing. I commend the whole team behind and the tourist guide Sophia in-charge of the tour, she was so amazing, kind and very lovely person. I reckon they made our trip marvellous and very entertaining. Since from the beginning till the end of the trip, the experience was amazing. We had free coffee, chocolate drink or tea in the morning plus some very delicious muffins they prepared for us. The travel was very smooth and for every stops that we had, Sophia our tourist guide provided heaps of insight about what the best thing to do, and even recommended some best restaurants in the local places. She made sure that we are comfortable and everyone is enjoying the trip. For a solo travellers like me, this is definitely a best choice to do and you will never feel alone or left out during this trip.
Overall it was amazing experience.

Worth every moment
This was such a wonderful tour! They gave a variety of pickup and dropoff locations that were conveniently located in the CBD. Sam, our tour guide, was amazing. He has a great sense of humor and was knowledgeable about a variety of topics related to our tour. The tour was organized, and not too rushed. The bus was comfortable, had charging ports, and strong, free wifi. We had a nice variety of stops with great vantage points, cute koalas, and penguins! Definitely worth
your time and money. I enjoyed this experience with Autopia so I booked another impromptu tour with them (which was also great).

Absolutely wonderful...
Absolutely wonderful experience. Kids-friendly, especially since there were several kids on the tour, and it takes them 1/2 a second to become friends and play together. Tour guide Steve was absolutely awesome and made this day one of the most memorable days of our vacation.

Top notch, highly recommend!
Top notch, highly recommend! We've did many of these guided tours over the years and this was by far our favorite. Ask for Marty, he was an incredible guide- extremely knowledgeable, efficient, great sense of humor and made the day very enjoyable and fun. Had the whole group engaged and interacting throughout the day- felt like a family vacation. Give that man a well deserved raise, he represents the company so exceptionally well.

10/10 GREAT experience- Lauren was awesome!!
Really cool experience! Lauren was the absolute best!! She had the best personality, made sure we had plenty of rest stops, gave us exact detail and instruction as to the time we had for each location and best spotting for the penguins! Lauren wasd 10/10 all around!
The experience itself, I recommend doing a tour that just brings you to Philip island for the penguins. We stopped at lunch first, went to koalas and then hit the penguins (left 12am ish) and we saw the penguins from 6-8ish. It was quite a long day. Understandably it is a 2 hour drive but i feel leaving almost 2-3 hours later would make the day feel less long. OVerall though, no regrets it was a wonderful experience, comfy bus with wifi and great tour guide!

It was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide, Nathan was an awesome bloke. Friendly and quite knowledgeable on the area. The mini bus was comfortable, neat and tidy.
Loved the small hike st the beginning before riding the train.
Train ride was great! Did this nearing winter and the air was crisp - love the views! Would definitely recommend for anyone planning to do something in Melbourne. Shouldn't miss this!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
When people come to Melbourne, they don't come to only see the city's attractions. They also come for the great Melbourne day trips that let you experience more of Victoria while staying comfortably in Melbourne. Take it easy as you're driven out to your pick of beaches, coastal attractions, wine valleys, and wildlife sanctuaries—the latter of which lets you see Australian wildlife including penguins and koalas. You can also make the most of Australia's seasons, from hitting the slopes in the ski fields in winter (June–August) to walking to waterfalls in the warmer months (December–February).
