Day well spent amidst nature and animals!
An amazing experience for nature lovers and people wishing to see and interact with indigenous animals from Australia. From picturesque beaches to Kangaroos, Wallabies & Koalas, to the highlight of the tour - Penguins!, the tour is a fulfilling experience. We were hosted by Cloe from the Go West Tours team and she was a delight. Hugely supportive with helpful hints to make the most of our experience, heavily knowledgeable on places & thier history and doing it all with a bright smile 😊. Thank you Cloe for making my visit to Philipp Island memorable. A must do for nature enthusiasts like me!

An Absolutely Incredible Day – Highly Recommended!
This tour exceeded all of our expectations and was easily one of the most enjoyable day trips we’ve had. One of the best parts was that there were only six people on the tour, which made it feel very relaxed and personal. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore and enjoy each stop. The itinerary was fantastic, with a wonderful mix of rainforest, stunning beaches, charming coastal towns, and spectacular scenery. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in Apollo Bay, visited a chocolate factory, and were lucky enough to see a koala and lots of kangaroos in the wild! A huge thank you to our guide, Glen. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and organised, and he really made the day special. He shared interesting information throughout the trip, made sure everyone was comfortable, and was always happy to answer questions. The reverse itinerary meant we avoided the crowds at the major sights, and the small group made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It was an unforgettable day!

Very special magical day
Such a privilege to see these amazing creatures up close. Added bonus was visiting the koala sanctuary. Our driver on the day was just the best. She was concious of our special circumstances and she looked after us so well. She went well and truly above and beyond and we will never forget her kindness. Sadly I can't remember her name but I want her and her employer to know that she was a true highlight of, not just our day but our whole holiday

Loved!!
We had a great time on our tour! Our guide from Wine & Hop Tours (I’m drawing a blank on his name - Durk?) was friendly & very informative! He kept us up-to-date on our itinerary throughout the day, as well as shared his knowledge about the nature & wildlife. We started at Puffing Billy, an hour long train ride, which was fun & the scenery was gorgeous! We had time for food (if you wanted) & to explore the nature around Emerald Lake. After, we had a bit of a drive to Phillip Island where we stopped for DELICIOUS fish & chips. We recommend Nat’s!! Next we headed to the Nobbies - absolutely stunning scenery as the sun was getting ready to set on the horizon. On our drive to the Penguin Parade we saw many geese with their chicks, black swans, & wallabies! We got to witness quite a few penguins waddling up the beach, as well as penguins in the sand dunes making their way into their burrows after sunset at the Parade - what a privilege! Overall a long, but incredible day exploring some nature & wildlife in VIC. I definitely recommend!

Not seeing something you are looking for?

When people come to Melbourne, they don't come to only see the city's attractions. They also come for the great Melbourne day trips that let you experience more of Victoria while staying comfortably in Melbourne. Take it easy as you're driven out to your pick of beaches, coastal attractions, wine valleys, and wildlife sanctuaries—the latter of which lets you see Australian wildlife including penguins and koalas. You can also make the most of Australia's seasons, from hitting the slopes in the ski fields in winter (June–August) to walking to waterfalls in the warmer months (December–February).
