Did the private tour with my husband and it was great. I think the private tour provided more opportunities to ask lots of questions on how the past impacts the present and get a good first person perspective of how the youth of Vietnam (Gen Z) view society, religion, government, education, etc. versus older generations. No brainer if you’re new to Ha Noi or Vietnam and especially if you’re staying in the French quarter. We went in mid October and it was still so HOT at 95-100F real feel with humidity. Locals said it was unseasonably warm. Prepare accordingly.

Great way to see Hanoi
Peter was a great guide, knowledgeable, polite, patient, and always had good information. A great way to see the highlights of the city. Being in a car really helped get through the narrow streets whereas a normal tour bus wouldn't be able to get as close as our driver did. You will hit some of the must see attractions and doing so with a knowledgeable guide truly elevates the visits. Hopefully you'll be lucky and get Peter as a guide as he was a great guide and was nice enough to send several good recommendations for food near my hotel.

Walking tour with Hanoi Free Tour Guide.
I researched the Hanoi Free Tour Guide on Google for my trip to Hanoi. Since I thought the main reason of educational exchange and getting to know the country and the locals was great anyway, I submitted a tour request via their website. I received a response and was also told the general terms and conditions, especially what is included and what requires extra payments. My tour guide was Ethan. He picked me up directly from the hotel and we discussed the tour individually. The day was also very hot and the highlight was the visit to Hasai Coffee.🫶🏻 All in all, it was very worth it for me and I can recommend it to every Hanoi visitor. 👍🏻

Great guide, great time
We needed a custom itinerary because we were at the end of our trip. So, private in a car. Our guide, Lan , was amazing. High energy, very knowledgeable and had a great delivery. She flexed for us due to mobility challenges, too. I absolutely recommend private car tour with LAN!!! This was our last activity, booked on a whim at the last moment and LAN made it work for us in the time we had. Oh, yeah, she made us reservations for Train Street so we didn’t have to rush there either. Book with LAN!
