Yes, active and outdoor classes in Cancun are worth it. One of the main reasons people travel to Cancun is to soak up the weather that allows for alfresco fun year-round. Whether you choose a zipline excursion where you get eye-level with the jungle canopy or a salsa class to work on your rhythm, you'll leave Cancun having learned something. You may also meet like-minded travelers and make new friends with similar interests. Plus, you'll get the vitamin D you may not be getting at home.

Per one customer who booked the ATV Adventure, Interactive Bridges, Ziplines, Cenote and Lunch, "Moto Moto was our tour guide, and he was great, knowledgeable, and let us know everything we would do. I paid for the upgrade, and it was worth it. More time on the ATVs, more zip lines and more time in a private cenote. Plus a great tequila tasting and all the tacos we could eat. I would definitely recommend it, and I would do this again."

Before booking active and outdoor classes in Cancun, read the activity’s description carefully. In addition to age requirements, some activities may have minimum height or maximum weight requirements. Also, if you’re booking a dance class and are keen to do the activity outdoors, contact the instructor in advance to ensure the class will be held outside. Some classes change venues depending on the day and weather.

To fully enjoy active and outdoor classes in Cancun, dress appropriately—you’ll want breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics that will keep you cool and dry in Cancun’s infamous humidity. You may also want to prioritize clothing with a UPF rating that blocks the sun’s harmful UV rays. Come with an open mind and a 10 percent cash tip (pesos preferred) for your instructor. That said, if you don’t enjoy your class, don’t feel obligated to leave a gratuity: it’s optional.

Even if you're short on time, you can still find fun Cancun activities to fit your schedule. Here are a few of the best Cancun active and outdoor classes to book if you just have an hour or less:
