Fantastic experience
Highly recommended. Unforgettable truck trip up the Volcan de Aqua with guide Axel and coffee farmer Mr. Filiberto to see his plants and learn about his business. Down the mountain, we stopped to roast and drink coffee with Mr. Filiberto’s daughter. Kudos to Axel for sponsoring a tour that directly supports local coffee farmers.

Luis was a fantastic guide. Punctual and contacted us prior to the tour to confirm we were familiar with the meeting point. Excellent English, affable and good sense of humor. Tour was well paced and a mix of history , politics, cullture, architecture, food and other tourist experiences.

Delicious food and wonderful tour guide!
We had a wonderful time and ate great food! It was really nice exploring some nearby towns to get a true taste of local cuisine. Our tour guide Nelly was fantastic and made the experience unforgettable. She was super knowledgeable about the food and was even able to tell the group about some Guatemalan history. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Tour and ATV Experience - LOVE Hobbitenango
Our tour guide, Erick, was wonderful! We really enjoyed the entire tour. Erick was very good and particular about how to drive the ATV. We felt very safe with all the street crossings and on the return ride in the dark. The stops were perfect! We loved Hobbitenango, a truly spectacular experience and great sunset spot. Also we appreciated Erick sharing more about his Mayan group and the local histories. I would definitely recommend this tour!

unique experience in the heart of Antigua
While we arrived for our tour on the right day at the right time, in true Guatemalan style, the organizers had us in their schedule for the next day and said they did not have any spots for us! However, they found a solution and booked us for a new time slot. Thankfully, our day was flexible so we could do that.
Once we arrived for our new appointment, everything went very well. Our chocolate making experience was fun. Jocelyn was entertaining as she explained how chocolate is made. Overall a very pleasant experience.

More than I expected
Honestly was an amazing experience for the price. First things first, the entrance fee is Q100 and the horse to the top only is Q300. Ok next, if you are coming from a place of low altitude, I recommend you give yourself atleast a day to acclimatize your body because this was really hard for me coming from the Caribbean, I’m pretty sure I had altitude sickness and that was awful. I went at 6am. Again, if you’re coming from a warm place, I wore 2 to 3 layers of Clothes. If you’re going to be hiking, your body will get warm but others were wearing shorts and t shirts so just know yourself. It was about 12 degrees celcius and windy. Ok now to the service. Our guide was Ervin and he was great, gave us some facts to start off the trail and also spoke English and Spanish. Gave us enough stop points to catch our breath and to take pictures along the way. I would recommend hiking boots because of how loose the soil is but I wore sneakers so it can be done. GET THE STICKS if you’re accident prone. Took about 1hr and 15 mins to and from the city and the hike was about 3hrs give or take includes the breaks. Left at 6:15 and returned at 11:30. Very beautiful, magnificent even. There are tiendas on the descent, hot dogs, pizza, lava rock store and your guide will provide you with marshmallows to roast. Worth the price, it’s safe and a great experience.

Great way for solo travelers to meet new people
The first two hours (at least, for the Friday booking) are spent at a bar with unlimited drinks (3 cocktail options in coolers) with beer pong, so don't feel any rush to come immediately. Each bar/club had reasonably priced drinks and shots with good music. I met a couple of solo female travelers in this group, and I felt very safe. The only odd thing is the shuttle you have to take to the last place, as it can be very hectic and loud with all the others inside.

Highly Recommend
Absolutely worth every penny. We had to walk to get from the market to the class because the roads were closed for the processiones, but even that was amazing and beautiful. The class was fun, Karina was a great teacher, Estaban was very helpful and informative as a guide and interpreter when needed. 100% would do again.

Wonderful Service!
Wonderful car service! We used them both ways to get to Antigua and back to the Guatemala City airport. Both drivers were on time, safe, and courteous. They were friendly and helped us to get to both destinations in a timely manner. The car was spacious and comfortable for my large party. They also responded quickly when we reached out to them on WhatsApp when our flight landed earlier than expected. My friend accidentally left their phone in the van and they responded quickly and brought it right back to us. I would definitely use this service next time I am in Guatemala.

Awesome Tour
Turns out I was the only one for the time slot I chose. They gave me the option to have a guide all to myself or join the sunset group. I chose the one on one option. I opted out of the ATV and Diego drove me to all the spots and took great photos! I highly recommended Diego and this tour because they were accommodating.

Nothing better than walking the city with Roberto!
Always believing that one explores while walking a city, I was so looking forward to this tour. Our flight was delayed by 2 1/2 hours, then the traffic caused us to end up in Antigua close to the time the tour finished. I was so disheartened, but Roberto was a gem and offered to take us on an abbreviated tour after hours, and we saw the city by night. He gave us history and culture and recommended spots to return to.

Challenging but Unforgettable Acatenango Experience
I did the overnight Acatenango hike with Ox Expeditions and was really impressed with how well organised everything was. The welcome briefing the night before is absolutely essential—it gives you a clear idea of what to expect and how demanding the hike truly is. One thing I really appreciated was that they offer lots of warm clothing to hire for free, which meant I didn’t have to pack bulky layers in my own bag.
I would strongly recommend hiring a porter for the ascent (for an additional charge). The hike is steep, long and genuinely difficult, and having someone carry your main bag makes a huge difference. Be prepared for very cold temperatures at base camp. Food is provided and perfectly fine for the conditions, but the campsite itself is very basic.
It’s also worth knowing that you’re not guaranteed dramatic views or a clear sight of Fuego erupting—weather and cloud cover can change quickly. Even so, the experience is absolutely worth it. Reaching the top and spending the night on the volcano is something I’ll never forget.
