Our guide John Brown was wonderful. I can’t believe how he could drive that 40 foot bus through Washington DC traffic. He took us to all the major points of interest. I would definitely recommend people to leave the driving to John or Matt.

Be prepared DC is ever changing somethings .you may not be able to do because a King or President may be there and you can't go there but belive me there is so much to see and our tour guide went over and above to take us where he could. We saw so much packed into one day. There is alot of walking and step climbing..

DC in a Day!

Meghan_L, Apr 2026
On a whim, I purchased tickets for our family with children, to tour DC for the day. We have no regrets! Matt was amazing from start to finish, learning our children’s names the moment they got on the bus, engaging with them through the day, putting a movie on that was family-friendly on the way back, and even returning a forgotten souvenir to us (when I say he went the extra mile, I mean it literally and figuratively!). Additionally, he was full of knowledge and everyone learned so much. If you want to see a little bit of a lot, without the stress of navigating a busy city, this is the tour for you. We left DC having walked through Arlington, checked out many monuments and memorials, and getting some time to go into one of the Smithsonian museums on our own. We saw still more at a distance and heard engaging stories and history all throughout the day. It truly was a great experience for all of us, and I highly recommend it! Note: I would not recommend this for children under 7, as this is a very long day (15+ hours from start to finish). For the enjoyment of everyone involved, I’d stick with older children, especially those with a love of history.

Disappointment in the dark

Lynda_W, Nov 2025
Plan a full day plus extra we were scheduled to leave at 6:30 our driver did not arrive until after 7:00 and we did not return until 9:30 pm. For the most part was a good experience. Spent too much time at the Smithsonian which didn’t allow enough daylight to make to the Lincoln memorial or the wall

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you for taking our tour. We apologize if you didnt understand or wasnt relayed to you that the time you used for Smithsonian is your free time to do what ever it is that guests what to do in the city. We had a late addition to the tour so the driver had to go get a different vehicle to accommodate everyone, we apologize for that. BTW the most popular tour in dc by far is the night tour, it can be twice the cost in certain seasons.

John's the man!

Russel_U, Nov 2025
John's depth of knowledge was exceptional. He had a story of almost every monument and building we drove by or stopped. His explaination of everything in Arlington National Cemetery was inspiring to all of us. How he weilded that bus through all of those tight streets and traffic, we'll never know!

We had the best experience! Mr. John, our driver and guide was awesome! Because of the government shutdown, the Smithsonian museums were all closed, so he took us on a tour of downtown Washington, DC adding in a couple of unplanned stops to make up for the closures. He is such a knowledgeable person and we came away understanding more about our government’s workings. We were very impressed with our tour!

This is a nice tour of Washington D.C. but be prepared to walk long distances. John, our tour guide, was accommodating and didn't make us feel rushed.

Amazing day trip to DC

Snezana_M, Oct 2025
The tour far exceeded my expectations, it was very well done! I can’t say enough about our guide and driver John. He was so knowledgeable about the landmarks and history. He was also a very safe driver. It seemed like he customized the tour for us and was very tuned in to what the group wanted to see. The trip to Arlington Cemetery was very moving. It was amazing to see the changing of the guard ceremony. We learned so much about the cemetery from John. The rest of the tour was great and I was surprised that we were able to see as much as we did in one day. I highly recommend this tour and will definitely do it again!

John was a fantastic guide for our day. He was knowledgeable of the area and shared snippets of stories. We were given ample time at every stop. John was considerate of special requests and accommodated as he could. The day was long but there was so much to see. He is a capable bus driver getting us around the city. He pointed out many buildings of interest. He had a pleasant personality that we really enjoyed. Definitely recommend this tour.

The tour guide John was GREAT. We saw lots of different sites. He was very polite and considerate to all of our needs. GREAT PERSONALITY. Ony thing NO ONE LIKED was VIATOR MISLEAD EVERYONE. they gave us the IMPRESSION LUNCH WAS INCLUDED in the trip as it was ALWAYS INCLUDED IN OUR OTHER TRIPS. The Email said lunch included. If people had of known IT WASN'T INCLUDED. most people would've BROUGHT LUNCH instead of having to buy it. Other than BEING LIED to on the email everything was fine.

We enjoyed the day very much. Our bus driver and escort John was very nice and shared history along with other information and tips. We were disappointed that we did not get to see White House and Capital up close that day, due to the road being blocked. But overall a wonderful day. Note: Wear good walking shoes.

It’s hard for someone who has no experience in traveling around Washington to find things while being on your own even with the google map on your phone. I think it would be better to go to one museum and have the driver drop you off and pick you up at the same spot.

Awesome and laid-back trip to DC!

Gladys_P, Sept 2025
I took an incredible bus tour from Williamsburg, VA, to Washington, D.C., with my brother, and it was hands-down one of the best tours I’ve ever experienced (tied only with a fantastic tour in Denver)! The bus was spacious with plenty of room to relax, and we loved the convenience of onboard phone charging. Our driver was not only friendly but also an excellent narrator, sharing a wealth of knowledge throughout the trip. We learned so much from his engaging commentary. The itinerary was perfectly paced—no rushing, yet we packed in a lot! We enjoyed lunch at a nice, safe mall in D.C., then had free time to explore two museums and snap photos in front of the White House. In the evening, we voted on one of three dining options, which added a fun touch. Not having to worry about traffic or navigation made the day stress-free; we could just sit back, enjoy the scenery, and soak it all in. This tour was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it!
