Driver picked us up outside of gate, about a 10 minute walk. Went to see the monkeys and sloths before our cooking class. Wonderful hosts, and yummy food. Learned some history of Roatan also. Nona was also there to help us out! Got the recipes and was given a lovely gift. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for something authentic and different. Much better than riding around in a bus, in my opinion! Thanks for a great experience!

This was an absolutely amazing experience! We had a blast cooking with Della and Louis. The food was delicius and the hosts were even better. This was my favorite event so far. The added cultural experience was a bonus. Those monkeys were wild! Overall 10/10 I will recommend again and again!
This cooking class and cultural experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Roatán! The cultural portion was so insightful, and we came away with a much deeper appreciation for the island’s history and traditions. Both of our hosts were enthusiastic and engaging, and you could truly feel the pride and energy they had when sharing their culture and history with us.
Our cooking teacher was fantastic: incredibly patient, encouraging, and a joy to work with. And the food? That was just the cherry on top. Everything we made was delicious, and it was so rewarding to enjoy a meal we had learned to prepare ourselves.
A helpful tip for future guests: If the website says they don’t pick up from your location, reach out to the host and ask anyway! We were staying at Barefoot Cay and assumed we’d need to arrange our own transportation, but they were happy to pick us up. It made the whole day so much easier.
We enjoyed every minute of this experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Roatán who wants an authentic, hands-on look at the island’s culture and cuisine. Thank you for such a memorable day!

We had such a great time on this excursion. Very hands on and personal. We learned a lot about the culture and history of food on the island and also learned to make some delicious food as well as eating food they prepared for us and getting a goodie bag to take home!
It is s fun way to learn more about the local culture. The food is great and families csn do it. We can't wait to try the recipes at home.
We had an amazing time. We love food and to cook and this was our favorite part of the trip. Chef Shauna was great sharing not only how to make the food, but about the culture of the island. She was patient with those of us who weren’t as experienced in the kitchen and we had an amazing time. Most importantly the food was delicious. Come hungry as this was the best thing we ate on the island all week. Everything was great and we were stuffed. 10/10 would do again.
