What an absolute blast! The hydro attack was seriously exhilarating, a total rush from start to finish. Mark, our pilot, was incredible, maneuvering the vessel with such skill and confidence. And skipper Peter was super friendly and made sure everyone was having a fantastic time. Definitely a must-do if you're looking for some serious fun on the water in Queenstown!

We did the Hydro Attack in Queenstown and overall it was a unique and high-energy experience. The speed, sharp turns and underwater dive moments look impressive, and the crew handle the boat with confidence, which makes the ride feel safe and well controlled.
One thing worth noting is that you’re not allowed to use your own GoPro. All footage is recorded using their onboard cameras instead. After the ride, you’re shown the video, and if you’d like to keep it, there is an additional NZD 30 charge. This only became clear after the ride.
Interestingly, when watching the video afterwards, the experience actually looks more exciting than it felt in the moment. The footage is enjoyable to watch, but the real-life ride didn’t quite feel as dramatic as it appears on camera.
Overall, it’s still a memorable and fast-paced activity, particularly for those who haven’t done a jet-boat-style experience before.

It was so fun! It’s better to go on cooler days and when the water is calmer so that you can really experience the twists and turns of the adventure. I’d highly recommend it!

Very friendly and capable staff. The ride was a little more jarring and uncomfortable than I expected, like being on a roller coaster.

Kia Ora,
Thanks for the nice review. Yes, the Hydro Attack is like a rollercoaster. We're glad our staff were friendly!

Good experience. However, not worth the hype.
The shark was too short for people with long legs. One time visit at the best.

Kia Ora,
Thanks for your feedback. We’re glad you had a good experience overall. We appreciate your comments around space and comfort, and understand it can feel a bit tight for taller guests.
Thanks again for visiting us!

The submerge was probably the best part but unfortunately the ride was really rough, and when going sideways the cockpit started leaking.
Response from Host, May 2026
Kia Ora,
Thanks for your feedback — glad you enjoyed the submerge. Sorry to hear the ride felt rough, as conditions can affect comfort.
A small amount of water can occasionally enter the cockpit, but we appreciate you sharing your experience.
