Do not miss this experience!
Seeing the glow worm caves was the top of our list for our weekend in Rotorua and this tour did not disappoint! There were 2 families with children aged 10 to 23 and everyone loved this experience. Our guide, Kesha, was knowledgable and engaging. The kayaks were easy to maneuver, with the guide pulling us into the caves. The night sky was perfect so we could easily see the Milky Way and the Southern Cross. Each cave was more spectacular that the one prior. We worried about being cold because it was the fall but wetsuits, booties, and jackets were available to all participants. We all highly recommend this tour!

Fun experience! Something...
Fun experience! Something worth doing with the family! Note that there is about a 10 minute walk including 6 flights of stairs in the beginning. But it’s all downhill from there in the best possible way! Maybe don’t have a big meal before this experience.

Delightful
There is a lot of walking, some of it uphill, otherwise, it is such a worthwhile tour, and we were absolutely delighted. We took the tours that included lunch, which said it was at the green dragon, but really it was in a tent next to the green dragon. Nevertheless, the food was excellent and definitely worth the money we spent. As we were there in the shoulder season before they close? Some of the adult T-shirts were no longer available at Coast. We couldn’t find any coasters that didn’t that didn’t have mugs attached to them and we really didn’t need any more mugs. We were very happy with the tour and would recommend it.

Zip line joy with the grandchildren.
The experience was exciting and enjoyable. We had two excellent guides, Ollie and Alina, who were helpful and informative. They were kind and patient with our 5 year old granddaughter and 10 year old grandson. We were told about the local flora and their traditional medicinal properties as well as the local traditions of the land and legends of the local iwis.
We were thrilled with the mini aerial aspects of the zip line while being confident we were safe and secure every step of the way. All in all, well done 👍

A Night of Culture, Feast, and Nature at Te Puia
Te Puia’s Te Pō Indigenous Evening Experience is a must-do in Rotorua. The evening starts with dinner, so you’re not left hungry. The buffet is massive—definitely arrive ready to eat! Afterward, you’re immersed in Māori culture, with village experiences, haka performances, and a chance to see the geyser. It’s a full evening that gives you culture, food, and natural wonders all in one go. Don’t miss it!

Accessibility @ the Kiwi Hatchery.
Great experience. Staff are fantastic with people using mobility aids, except you need to go to the Ageodome first to collect actual tickets and then drive to the Hatchery, if a visitor uses Mobility Aids. This made us late for the start of the tour, even though we arrived 10mins early at the Agrodome. Actual experience and information provided was good quality and we had the chance to ask questions. We managed to see a 3 day old kiwi in the Hatchery area, as well as an adult male & female in indoor habitats.

A must do activity when in Rotorua
This was a real highlight of our trip to Rotorua. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. The insights gained into the Māori culture was fascinating. We also loved how interactive the evening was - learning the Haka, traditional Māori games and music. The food was also exceptional. It is an experience that we will always remember.

Great time!
Make sure you come before 1015am to go to the Lady geyser. They do a fun ceremony and add soap to make it explode. It was really neat! You can go straight to the geyser parking lot and they scan your ticket there. No need to go to the visitor center before. The walking path around the hot springs in well maintained and the hot springs are big and beautiful.

Ask for Tor, you will thank me after.
I had an incredible experience rafting in Rotorua, and a huge part of that was thanks to Tor, our guide. From the very beginning, it was clear that he genuinely loves what he does—and it shows in every detail of the experience he creates.
While other guides seemed to stick to just paddling through, Tor went above and beyond to make the ride unforgettable. He took the time to add all the fun extras—surfing the rapids, “the bull,” balancing, jumping—things that made the whole experience exciting and unique. You could tell he wasn’t just doing his job; he was making sure we had the best time possible.
What I appreciated most was how clear and easy his instructions were to follow, especially for someone like me who can’t swim. I felt safe the entire time, which allowed me to fully enjoy the adventure without worry. That balance of fun and safety really stood out.
I’ve done rafting in several other countries, and without a doubt, Tor has been the best guide I’ve ever had. Not just skilled, but also a genuinely good person who puts real effort into making your experience special.
Thank you, Tor, for going the extra mile and making this such a memorable adventure.

Great night out. Hosts...
Great night out. Hosts were informative and entertaining. The food was absolutely delicious and sooooo much of it.
It was great that the evening involved us visiting different areas of the village.
Entertainment was really good, and the performers certainly looked to be enjoying themselves.
We had a fabulous evening, and also learned a lot about the Maori culture.

Great introduction to Rotorua’s geothermal wonders
A very well-organized small group tour covering Wai-O-Tapu, Lady Knox Geyser, and Waimangu Valley. Each stop was unique, with incredible geothermal landscapes and plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed.
The Lady Knox eruption was a highlight, and Waimangu’s scenery felt truly otherworldly. Transport was smooth, timing was perfect, and the small group size made the experience relaxed and enjoyable.
Highly recommended if you want an efficient and memorable overview of Rotorua’s geothermal sites.

Great overall experience / cramped bus
Tour guide Phil was great. Surprised by the large number of geothermal sites we saw. The topper was in the afternoon geysers with waterfall. Only negative was the bus was cramped and in some seats the wheel-well.took away foot space. But drive times are short so it is manageable.
Highly recommended.
