Marie was so lovely and patient explaining the whole process to prepare and making of the macarons. We dont do the shell of the macarons as it takes 1h to settle and then oven, but we are shown how to do it and we get to practise. We do learn how to mix the ingredients of the macarons and assemble them. We get to take 4 home 2 chocolate, 2 pistachio and the step by step recipe to try do it at home. It was a good way to spend the morning would recommend it for a diferent experience in Paris.

So much fun. Great teacher. We loved the class! Can’t wait to go home and bake for friends and family.
A charming little class in the Galleries Lafayette. Lasts around 1h30/45. A little tricky to find - take escalator to 3rd floor and look for the Concierge desk, it’s right beside it. Your instructor will demonstrate how to mix ingredients the French way to make macaron meringue, you will take it in turns to pipe the the instructor’s mixture. While they cook, you make the ganache fillings (one chocolate, one pistachio) and then pipe these into pre-made shells. Beautifully boxed to take home, and an excellent recipe card is included. We got to eat the mismatched shells we piped earlier in the class.
All in all, a fun little class with a lovely demonstrator - we had Joanna. Super thing to do if you have been to Paris before and want to try something different. Equally recommended if it’s your first visit to the city and want to have your cutesy ‘Emily in Paris’ moment.
We had some experienced pastry chefs in our group who were thrilled to learn new techniques to fix their macaron-making issues.
The class is very informative, clear, and fun. I usually feel like I won’t remember the recipe during be course or the tips and tricks but for this class, Sophie made it simple and fun. I would definitely recommend and I intend on trying this out when I get back home.
Amazing! Highly recommend . Would do it again. We all enjoyed it. Perfect class!! Instructor was great
It was fun and everyone of all ages felt included, valued and happy. And we walked away with delicious treats
Chef was very friendly and thoughtful about explaining the process
Was an excellent experience
Small class
This was a fantastic experience. The teacher Marie was fabulous. Very enthusiastic and detailed. We learned how to make the macarons and she gave us the secrets too!
We really liked this shorter macaron bakery class….it was 1.5 hours vs 3-4 hours for most of the other classes. We learned the process, the secrets to making perfect macarons, and we were able to make our own macarons. Great class!
Instructor was great. You make the filling, but not the cookie part. She demonstrates how to make that part. Only downside. Final product was great
Great class and tips to perfect your own macarons. Great location and reason to visit/explore Galleries Lafayette!
If you are looking for more hands on, this is more of demonstration and participation. Still learned a lot and got recipe. The fact it is in Galeries Lafayette made it fun.
Such a fun experience! Hands on - practice all parts of macaron baking. Get to take home a few macarons and recipes. Awesome time and very easy to find in the mall.
I’ve always been a bit shy about making macarons, but seeing them made firsthand gave me the confidence to try them at home. The instructor was very clear about what to watch for to get the best results, clearly outlining all the dos and don’ts so common mistakes are easy to avoid. I loved the class and would highly recommend it.
Great experience for my 14 yr old who loves to bake. She said it was the best macaron she's had. We enjoyed our time immensely!
It was a light and fun experience. Our instructor was great, knew how to read the room and keep things enjoyable and on track.
Fun yummy delicious informative. Sweet chef leader clear and informative great hands on experience a fun day

An excellent instructor and great facility! Enjoyed the class very much! Everything was well organized and enjoyable and our macarons were delicious!
We so enjoyed our macaron baking class. Our pastry chef was awesome. Her pace was perfect and it was very easy to understand and follow her directions. I read the reviews before I booked, some of which mentioned that they felt cheated because we don’t make the merengue shells in class and instead make the fillings and use pre-made shells. But that part made total sense to me. It’s not actually culinary school, it’s a 90 minute long demonstration. Not enough time for a group of that size to make your own shells and fillings. We learned the differences in merengues and many helpful tips to use when we try the recipe at home (which we are trying today!) Plus, the Galleries Lafayette is a beautiful store with something for everyone. It was a great choice for my daughters and I!
Fabulous experience in the heart of Les Galleries Lafayette!! What’s better than shopping & fresh macarons?! Answer = NOTHING!!!
We came from Lyon to Paris using train at 1.08 PM to reach our cooking class lesson at 5 PM. However, there was an incident in which signalization cable was cut on the railway to Paris Gare de Lyon . As such, the entire trains were delayed. We tried to get another train around 4 PM and finally reached Paris at 9 PM after multiple delays along the way. We missed our cooking class and Viator did not want to give us a refund.
The chef was knowledgeable and helpful. We learned great tips to make a perfect French macaron. It was the perfect class for our family.
Great small group. Chef was absolutely great and really taught us a lot. I wish it was in an actual bakery but still a fun experience.
The chef was great, just wish there was a little more to actually make for the macarons. The hands on portion is minimal.
Our family had a fun experience learning how to make Macarons at the Gallery Lafayette. Our instructor showed us how to make the shells and then we made our own fillings and were able to make 4 macrons to take home or enjoy at the event. They were very tasty! Looking forward to trying the recipe at home.
This was the one thing my son requested to do in Paris. The pace of this workshop and the amount of hands on experience was absolutely perfect for me and my son. The group worked together to make a batch of shells which we got to eat at the end of the class. The shells we used for our take home macarons were premade by the baker as we learned they need sufficient time to cool in the fridge before they’re filled (which makes sense). After we whipped up our batch of shells, we each made the filling with the ingredients that were ready in bowls at the table. This was helpful and we appreciated the efficiency of it. Our guide was so sweet and patient giving us a lot of encouragement and reminding us of the importance of not rushing through the delicate process of macaron making.
Compared to many other tours I explored for making macarons, this one offered the best value for money. And since this tour is at Les Galaries Lafayette, you can go to the 7th floor terrace for amazing views of Paris and buy some gourmet macarons at Les Galaries while the 4 take home macarons cool (they need 3-hours in the fridge before you should eat them).
On a side note, I highly recommend getting to Les Galaries early so you can jump the queues for the Glasswalk experience on the 3rd floor.
My 13 y/o daughter and I enjoyed this class very much! Our instructor, Joanna, was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of useful tips. My daughter was able to bake these recipes when we got home, without any issues. This was well worth it!
We had lots of fun learning how to make macarons and whisked our own ganache filling. You take home 4 delicious macarons plus the location itself is worth the visit anyway. Highly recommended!
You don’t actually get to make the macarons because the process is really lengthy which is why they do a good job of demonstrating the process and then providing you with macaron shells and you get to make the filling to go in it
You only make the ganache. If you want the real experience it’s not the place. The chef is the one making it while you watch. Waste of time and money.
