Max picked us up from our hotel on time in a very comfortable and clean car. We drove 45 minutes to Cerritos beach. We unpacked our surfboards while he carried the other gear, including wet suits, chairs, and umbrellas. Every step of the way, Max was courteous, professional, friendly, and down to earth - just all-around fun vibes. He offered us water bottles, and while we were still on the beach, he taught us how to pop up and balance on the board. He took us into the water and helped us take turns getting onto and pushing our boards as we tried to catch some waves. After taking a break on the beach and eating granola bars he provided, we got back into the water with him for a bit. Then he let us practice on our own until we were tired and ready to get out. It was a lot of fun! I felt like a water baby playing in the water and trying to stand up on the waves - I could have stayed out there all day. I was surprised and happy to see that I could start to do things by myself after learning from Max: judge good waves to try to surf, turn myself around, paddle, and stand up. He gave us the tools to be independent beginner surfers and keep practicing on our own.
After surfing, we were happy, exhausted, hungry, and ready to go to the nearby taco shop and eat the best fish and shrimp tacos I've ever had. The atmosphere of the shop was very chill and relaxing. We also got to learn more about Max and his interesting life experiences living, working, and traveling all over the world. It was a great way to finish off an active morning in the waves.
During our drive back to our hotel, we fell fast asleep after an exciting day learning to surf. We were grateful for such a fun day with an excellent instructor. We will definitely look up Max again for future adventures next time we are back in Cabo.

Top notch tour and surf lessons. Saw some beautiful spots in Cabo that we would not have ventured to on our own. Surf lessons were the best we’ve had.

12/10 experience with Max, my husband and I had the best day surfing at Cerritos beach. While we were there, there was a professional surf comp going on so we got to see the pros and learn a few things from watching. Once we got in the water I got up on the first try and continued to catch waves with Max's guidance and teachings. He's super chill and easy going. We had alot in common and it was just nice to get out and spend a day with a local. He picked us up on time, provided beach chairs, water and everything we needed for a good day. His enthusiasm for surfing and life made the day so enjoyable and we finished the day with some epic tacos. Bonus: he has great taste in music. I will be recommending him to everyone I know and will certainly be back to hike and see him again. Thank you soooo much for making our trip to Cabo unforgettable.

Max was amazing! Both my husband and I got up on our second wave. He was extremely knowledgeable and put us at ease in the water. We had a great time! Highly recommend for couples or small family groups when in Cabo. We got to go to a secluded “hidden gem” where we were some of the only people on the beach. 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to do it again!

Great guy, super friendly, and knows tons about surfing. He comes prepared with beach chairs, cooler, and umbrella, which helped during breaks. He also helped a beginner surfer stand up and surf a wave on her first day! We enjoyed spending the day out on the ocean with a pro!

Max was a great instructor! He was insightful and patient with someone who had never even held a surfboard. This was a great outing for my husband and I. We would take turns catching waves...and I was able to stand a few times...not pretty, but I did it...thanks to Max's instruction!

Max picked us up in the morning and drove us about 45 minutes to a small surf town. We spent some time learning the basic movements on land before we went out. He gave us wetsuits to wear, which helped us stay in the water longer. We had a blast even though we wiped out the majority of the time. After a few hours on the beach Max took us to a small taco restaurant in the town, which was delicious. We got a tuna ceviche and fish tacos. There were also vegetarian options (avocado and sweet potato tacos). Overall it was a great day and we would definitely do it again! Thank you Max!

2 adults and 4 kids went surfing. It was an amazing day! The instructor was very helpful with all abilities and ages! He was not only very knowledgeable with surfing but also with local cabo info. He speaks very good engish and takes safety very seriously!!!

Max was great and so patient helping my kids & wife & I all surf. We are definite beginners with only one prior lesson and they kept everything positive and encouraging, they were flexible with everything and helped each of us catch wave. After a brief instruction they got us out in the water. Cerritos beach was great for beginners...and the tacos at Barracuda after the lesson lived up to the hype. Max brought a friend, Twofik, along who was also super helpful and kind. Thanks for a great day! Would do it again...

SO FUN! Highly highly recommend. Max took us to a town about an hour away and it was so cool to escape Cabo for a little day trip. He was a great teacher and we both caught some great waves! Afterwards he brought us to a local taco place and it was one of my favorite meals to date! Can’t recommend enough, it’s a must!

It was my first time surfing and my friend surfed before. We both had a great time. Max explained everything so good that we cought a lot of waves and it was amazing experience. Also we had some cocktails on the beach after surfing and great tacos later:) Thank you Max for amazing day!

My wife and I took surfing lessons class from Max and loved it. We both managed to stand up on our first day, thanks to Max. He picked a great surfing spot and made the whole experience super easy, as if a patient, knowledgeable friend is teaching you how to surf. We will definitely book experiences with Max again when back in Cabos

Surf lesson with Max was awesome! He found us a great break with warm water near La Fortuna and we learned how to surf, met wild donkey's and a few local doggos. The 9' soft boards were easy to ride and easy enough to maneuver through the inside break. I got to ride my first waves and afterwards we enjoyed delicious fish tacos y cervezas in an idealistic Baja setting at SHADE. Both communication and transportation were smooth. Max made us feel like local surfers. Do yourself a favor and book a surf lesson or hike with Max your next time in Cabo!

My husband and I enjoyed our surf lesson with Max, which was only our second lesson ever. The beach was great and it was nice to get out of the chaos of being in town.
We loved the convenience of being picked up at our hotel and the delicious tacos when we were done right there by the beach. We were hungry and ready to eat.
Max knows the area well and offers a variety of other tours. If we knew ahead of time, we would have scheduled a hiking tour with him.

Max was amazing! Cerritos was the perfect location, warm, calm, and friendly! The waves were perfect for beginners. We would do the exact same day again if we had time and will definitely be back with our kids. Tacos and drinks at the Barracuda Cantina were the best we had on our week-long trip to Baja!
We cannot say enough about this great day and awesome tour guide! Max also recommended a beautiful hike near our hotel and an AMAZING restaurant in Cabo that we would never have found on our own!

One of the best excursions we’ve had on any vacation! Max picked us up at our resort and took us to an amazing surf beach on the pacific side. The drive was also lovely to see the countryside and mountains. He was able to tell us more about the region’s natural features. He was well prepared for surf lessons, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. He was great at reading the waves and our abilities and responded accordingly. Unfortunately the taco shop changed their schedule and they were closed so we coudn’t take advantage of that, but we had such a full and fun day we didn’t mind. I’d highly recommend Max!

Max is an excellent surf instructor and a genuinely nice person. We learned a lot about the Cabo area during our ride to Cerritos and once there, he placed the umbrella, chairs and cooler down so we could relax before and after our lesson for a bit. The water was ideal for beginners in that it wasn’t deep and very sandy. After our lesson, we stopped for tacos at Barracuda which were some of the best we’ve had during our week long stay.
If you’re interested in learning to surf or simply would like to spend 4 hours at Cerritos and trying some place outside of the immediate Cabo area, I’d highly suggest booking this. We learned of his waterfall & hiking tour which we plan to take next trip.

Max was great with out group! When my wife had trouble getting over the waves with her board (she is 5'2") he waded out with us in the waves to help her! He also had beach chairs, umbrellas, and cold drinking water for us! The entire tour was well worth the money we paid for and Max is great for conversation. Speaks English more fluently than some people I know in the states! He also has other tours that sounded really interesting. He can do custom trips too. He mentioned that he has taken people for bigger and more challenging waves than just for beginners and had done snorkeling and spearfishing tours as well.

The trip started off with an on time pickup at the hotel, then we headed to cerrito, max had everything set up very quickly had us do a quick on sand lesson before getting into the water, he then assisted us in the water as well. The trip was incredible and yes the taco hype is real it was awesome. Favourite part of the Cabo trip for us!

Max was an excellent guide and instructor. He picked us up in a nice vehicle, set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach, and took us to eat the best tacos! With Max's help we were able to pick up surfing fairly quick. Would definitely recommend.

Our trip with Max was the highlight of our vacation! He was very kind and easy to talk to. He picked us up at our hotel on time and took us to a beautiful beach. He was an excellent teacher, very patient and encouraging. The tacos we had after our lessons were the best tacos we had the whole time we were here. I would absolutely recommend this experience!

Tara and I had a fantastic experience with Max's beginner surfing lesson + tacos. He was very accommodating in every aspect and would 10 out of 10 recommend him! He picked us up from our hotel, provided snacks and water, surfboards, beach chairs and umbrellas, and even let us borrow some of his wetsuits as the water was pretty cold that day. Both Tara and I successfully got up on the board and rode some waves at Cerritos Beach. Its about an hour away from Cabo San Lucas but well worth the drive for a great beginner surf spot without the crowds. After our lesson we went to his favorite taco spot with great outdoor ambience, delicious food and fresh juices. From start to finish the excursion with Max was outstanding. Max himself was easy to talk to and very laidback...good vibes all around! We really enjoyed his company. He also gave us great recommendations of other things to do in Cabo. We had a very memorable experience at Acre, a farm-to-table concept restaurant that he recommended. Next time we're in Cabo we look forward to reconnecting with Max and going on some of his other tours. Thanks for a memorable experience Max! Until next time, take care!

Highly recommend! Great for families, tweens & teens. Beach was perfect for swimming (these are scarce), surfing or lounging. Private tour. Max brings chairs & umbrellas! He is a great instructor of surfing also! He will surf with you if you want. Enjoyed the drive, got to see the peninsula and learn about the towns along the way. Bring money to buy from beach vendors (save yourself a tip to town) and for the awesome shrimp tacos.

My family had such a great surfing experience with Max! This was our first time, and my 13 year old and I were nervous, but Max made it easy and fun! He brought beach chairs, umbrellas, fruit and water along. We had everything we needed to enjoy the day. The beach, waves, weather, and shrimp tacos were awesome!

Excellent surf lessons! Max was awesome and had patience w my husband and myself! He was an awesome teacher. Would recommend to everyone! Picked us up, gave a safety lesson, surf lessons, then in the water surf lesson, then break w snacks and fruit, then took our photos w my GoPro, and took us to a taco place! Max is an excellent guide and amazing teacher. He worked with our three children, ages 7, 9 and 11. For the younger two it was their first time out. Max had them out and on their feet within the first few tries. He stayed in the water for hours with the kids, they had a blast! The town is also beautiful, and the lunch was some of the best food we had on our trip. Highly recommend doing this at least once on your trip!!

In a nutshell, Max was awesome. He picked me up at Le Blanc and my wife was able to join us for a small fee to get video/pictures of me taking the lesson. I've always wanted to try surfing but didn't get a chance until this trip to Cabo. We had a great conversation with Max on the way to/from Cerritos Beach. The spot was perfect for learning and I'm happy to say Max was able to get a 50+ year old up and surfing. It was an excellent day in every respect and I will do it again when we return to Cabo.
