See Malawi's two biggest highlights in just three days, with your own vehicle and a Malawian driver-guide who grew up here. Start at Cape Maclear, inside the UNESCO-listed Lake Malawi National Park: take a boat to Thumbi West Island, watch African fish eagles dive for fish, and snorkel among hundreds of colourful cichlids found nowhere else on earth. Then head south to Liwonde National Park for game drives and a boat safari on the Shire River, where elephant herds wade through the reeds and hippos crowd the shallows. The tour is fully private, so the pace is yours. Lodges, all meals, park fees and airport or hotel transfers in Lilongwe or Blantyre are included.

Spend three unhurried days inside Lake Malawi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with your own vehicle and a Malawian driver-guide who grew up here. Stay on the beach at Cape Maclear, walk through the fishing village with your guide, and spend a full day on the water: boat out to the islands, snorkel among hundreds of colourful cichlid fish found nowhere else on earth, watch African fish eagles dive, and cruise home at sunset. On your last morning, hike to the viewpoint above the bay before the drive back to Lilongwe. The tour is fully private, so the pace is yours. Lodge accommodation, all meals, park fees and airport or hotel transfers are included. Run by Anake Tours, a Malawian-owned company rated 4.9 on Tripadvisor.
