What are people saying about Fez

Fantastic experience, a very well organized tour
Absolutely fabulous experience, the pick up was smooth, the breaks were well scheduled, guide and driver find a place to stop if additional breaks required as our group had a 4 year old. Camel ride to the desert was absolutely breathtaking, we started just before sun started to set and experience all from day to under moonlight. Desert camp was a great experience, there are a lot of camps nearby so you won’t feel in the middle of nowhere but still get the desert experience. We had full moon which made stargazing impossible but it had its charm also. Full moon lights the sky a lot more than you would think so schedule your tour according to the moon if stargazing is a priority for you. I would definitely recommend getting up for the sunrise in the morning. We also done some sand boarding which was real fun. We just sit on a sand dune 2 minutes away from the camp after camp music finished for a while which was one of the best feelings ever. The way back via 4x4 was also a very fun ride. The short stops on the way for viewing gorges, oasises and other views were also amazing, driving through the countryside is an experience by itself but expect a lot of driving, you’ll spend most of the tour in the vehicle. Our second night stay at Dar Ahlam Dades was also very good. Ait Ben Haddou is an amazing old city, definitely worth a visit. The atlas studios was the only passable scheduled stop but I believe it’s a good spot for a toilet break. The food was much better than what you would expect from such a group tour. Our group preferred non-buffet options on first 2 lunches and both were great, Moroccan cusine was more delicious than we anticipated. The food on the camp was average at best and the lunch on third day near Ait Ben Haddou was meh. Both the dinner and breakfast in the hotel at Dades were delicious and the hotel give you Berber clothes to enrich your experience, don’t skip wearing them. Our guide, Brahim, arranged everything very well and made sure we had the best experience. We stayed in Africa Luxury camp. The experience listed quad bike and dune buggy activities in the camp but it turned out that these are alternative transportation back from camp which was a little bit disappointment, we prefer to spend our time in the desert and go back with 4x4. As we travel at the end of October, night wasn’t so cold and we didn’t spend any time in the tent during the day but air conditioners were locked in the room which was concerning since our package indicated a room with air conditioner.

Excellent family outing
All of the staff are very good, the driver is professional, and the guides both on the vehicle and in Meknes are high-quality. The van is in good condition, and while it doesn’t have air conditioning, there is enough ventilation that I found it comfortable although in the summer, I’m not sure what it would be like. Both Volubilis and Meknes themselves are very much worth your time. The only things I would have changed our first, more time in Volas because I think you need two hours to do it properly. Second, a guide there would have been great because while there’s a lot of information online and there there are some very Spartan signs, someone to show us around and explain things would’ve been good. But of course that would have cost more. The last point is that being led around by a guide in the medina itself is a bit stressful as you have to use all your focus to avoid getting separated from the group and dodging the passing vehicle traffic. But there’s not much they can do about that, and the places we stopped inside the medina were quite nice. Overall, this was a very good experience for us and our young children.

Great overview of the city and shops
Ahmed was our guide and was wonderful. He showed us all of the key sight seeing locations along with artisans and smaller streets. He also took us to shops based on what we were looking to purchase and waited while we shopped. Highly recommend this tour especially as a first time visitor.

We had an excellent...
We had an excellent experience on this tour! The food served at dinner was delicious, and both the desert camp and the hotel were excellent, with very comfortable accommodations. But what really made this trip special was our driver, Mohamed. We experienced some unexpected challenges due to unusually heavy rainfall in the desert, but Mohamed handled everything incredibly well, making us feel safe and well taken care of throughout the journey. Beyond that, he is an extremely friendly and kind person who shared fascinating insights into Moroccan culture, making the experience even more memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better driver. Thank you, Mohamed, for making this trip so special! Highly recommended!

The colorful city of Fez is a feast for the senses. It’s among Morocco’s oldest cities, with an ancient, UNESCO-listed walled medina, densely packed traditional markets, and one of the world’s oldest tanneries. Fez tours give you a chance to explore labyrinthine parts of the city with an expert to see 9th-century mosques, a 17th-century synagogue, cultural museums, and the famous Chouara Tannery. You can also learn to make some traditional Moroccan dishes with a hands-on cooking lesson.
