Top Banff Day Trips

This trip covers a lot of site seeing around Banff National Park and allows time for lunch in downtown Banff. We got picked up in Canmore which was convenient for us. The tour was 9 hours, which seems like a long time, but since the tour included so many sites, it didn’t feel that long. We started with the Banff Gondola. Our tour guide, Ram was great. He helped us with getting the gondola tickets. You have a little over an hour up top. The scenery was amazing. They had outside observation decks and chairs to relax. You can also hike. Next we soaked in the Banff mineral springs. I highly recommend it. I felt renewed and relaxed after a 10 minute soak. We then went to Bow falls, which was picturesque. Ram was ready to help with pictures. He even did a 360 picture for us. It looks professional. We then got an hour in Banff to shop or eat. We grabbed some lunch. The afternoon included, surprise corner, Johnson Lake, two Jacks lake and Lake Minnewanka. I could be leaving something out. Not sure. We had ice cream from the snack shack at Kake Minnewanka. It was better than Cows in Banff. The price is right. I’d definitely recommend this tour

We booked a tour of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake with Rockies Journey. Kenneth, our tour guide, was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly throughout the trip. We highly recommend them. Traveling as a family of 8 (2 kids and 6 adults), we really appreciated that they supplied water, snacks, and candy. The tour started and ended right on time. We were very satisfied!

Good experience. The guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. We were lucky with an early sighting of a bear. Lots of long-horn sheep. And towards the end some elf from a distance and deer. The stopping spots and views were good regardless of whether we saw animals in all locations or not. I'd recommend taking the tour.

Our driver, Shaun, brought our 4-star review to a 5. The prompt pickup, clean bus, timely schedule, and arrival at both locations was as expected. We had a glorious day to explore both magnificent locations 🤩. Review would have been a 4 since the bus air conditioning did not seem to work well (but was tolerable and not the fault of the driver), and the co-host who was meant to narrate the drive was not present (again, not the driver's fault). Shaun did a great job when it was safe to jump on the microphone and point out significant landmarks with historical or economic context (wildlife corridors, Castle Mountain, etc.) yet was wise to prioritize safe driving. We would make this reservation again. Very grateful to have gone to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Our pickup time was 2pm in Canmore.

This was the best experience I could’ve ever hoped for, mostly thanks to our amazing tour guide, Lou. The man was a wealth of knowledge and kept things fun. We were able to see and do everything we wanted to, and by lucky strike we got to see 3 grizzly bears lounging on the side of the road. It was a mama and her two yearling cubs, and Lou pulled over so we could safely view them and capture some incredible pictures and video. Such a cool experience. Lou gets a 10/10!

The tour to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise was absolutely incredible! The views were breathtaking, with crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by majestic mountains. The tour was well organized, and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We had enough time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and appreciate the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. This was truly one of the highlights of my visit to Alberta. Highly recommended!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our Minnewanka Lake cruise was mid June. It was still pretty chilly and it rained every other minute. Capt Matt was excellent—we made it back to shore! 😂. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and personable—he had a great sense of humor and was full of historical facts about the Spirit of the Water. How wonderful to be on that beautiful water and to be able to enjoy the mountains!

A wonderful tour covering Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and parts of Banff National Park. Our brilliant tour guide, Jake, made this more of an adventure. Part historian, part outdoorsman, great comic relief and self proclaimed best looking tour guide in the Canadian Rockies, Jake really made this a day to remember. He shared so much history about the area and this great wilderness we all enjoyed. We were lucky enough to see a mother Grizzly Bear and her cubs eating berries on the side of the road to Moraine Lake. This 4 .5 hour tour is a perfect length.
