Local eating gems in Auckland
This tour is perfect for travelers who are not familiar with the Auckland CBD for eating establishments. We went to many local eateries and a farmer’s market showcasing local cuisine and fresh ingredients. We never would have known about these gems without going on this tour.

Great tour with John
Great tour with John. We were fortunate to have a private tour with John today. He was fantastic. He gave us so much good information about the area and tailored the wine tour to our taste. We visited Soljans and Hunting Lodge cellar doors as well as the gannet colony at Muriwai Beach. It was a perfect day.

Great way to spend a day!
Amazing day!! Our driver and guide, Mike, was exceptional. He was everything you'd want in a guide- fun, entertaining, interesting, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He explained everything ahead of time very well, so we all knew what to expect and where to be and when. He shared great insights along the drive as well. Hobbiton was awesome and such a cool, immersive experience. Waiotapu was fascinating and fun to walk thru the park. Would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent!
Excellent experience! Highly recommended. It was very informative. We were able to see numerous dolphins, orcas (very rare as per the guides) , penguins and lots of birds. Make sure you dress warm as it does get chilly in the boat. The tour was well organized. The team members are all marine scientists and are able to give us good information and answer all questions.

Perfect Day for Sailing
We were searching for a sunset dinner cruise, but most reviews suggested opting for a sailing cruise and dining at a restaurant. Since the food on dinner cruises is not particularly impressive, we decided to take this sailing tour. It turned out to be a delightful and memorable experience during our vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed watching all the sailboats in the bay. The crew was fantastic, providing us with refreshing drinks and delicious cookies. Afterward, we headed to a fantastic restaurant located right at the harbor for a satisfying meal.

Last of the summer schedule sunset sails - should be called a starlight cruise!
A perfect way to end our 6+ week holiday in NZ - a (past) sunset cruise of Auckland harbor!!! A gloriously clear night with such an array of stars (even with ambient light from Auckland). The crew was fantastic; the captain so informative and laid back - the food - appetizers were great; main course disappointed a little (lukewarm and a little dry). Once they hoisted the mainsail, there was enough breeze to really do some heeling tacks. Thanks all for a great (planned) last night in Auckland. Air New Zealand mucked up our departure plans - but definitely nothing to do with this 'adventure'!

Stars and Stripes forever
For a child of the 80’s this was a bucket list item. Sailing on an America’s Cup yacht,
JPN 41, raced in San Diego as part of the challenger series. The crew led by Julia was professional and engaging. They let everyone take at turn at the helm and gave us a great experience. You can’t beat sailing on a racing yacht in Auckland harbor!

Never Seen the Movie, but Enjoyed the Odyssey to Hobbiton
It was a great 12 hour tour that even if you’re not a fan of the movie trilogy, you will definitely be pleased and entertained. Our driver Simon was an excellent tour guide who was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable about New Zealand’s history and sites. He drove us through wonderful countryside settings that gave you a contrast between Auckland city sites and what is in the area just a few hours outside of the city. The lunch items that you can choose from are plentiful and delicious. He even managed to work in a morning coffee break that you could also pick up coffee, a danish or breakfast sandwich on the drive to Hobbiton. The only thing to be aware of that when you tour the glow worm caves after lunch, is that they do not allow photography or videotaping. The approximately 50 minute tour of the caves and boat ride out of the caves is very informative about the life of a glow worm and how the caves came to be discovered and created. Still worth the price of the ticket. Simon also provided countryside driving on the way back to Auckland and we managed to stop for refreshments of fine New Zealand homemade ice cream. I would say this is well worth your consideration and Cheeky Kiwi is first class in their operation. On my return trip to New Zealand I will definitely be booking tours through them.

Views through the clouds
It was easy to exchange our vouchers for tickets.
Our day was full of clouds and raindrops but the views that we saw and photos that we took were still phenomenal. We could see the weather and clouds coming and going which gave us teasing glimpses of Auckland and its harbour. Do this!
