I highly recommend Taka's tour. We had a terrific day. We chatted along the way about Japanese culture as we were professionally escorted through the city.
We visited beautiful sights, and were taken through gates and background parts at shrines etc that we would never have found ourselves.
Taka is warm and friendly, and was happy to go at our pace, and to personalise our tour

What can I say..... We had the best day with Taka, not only did he take us to some amazing spots he guided us through the subways and connected with our sense of humour which made a really fun walking tour! We shared a great meal together at the end where the laughs continued! Thanks Taka!

I would happily recommend this walking tour. I booked the four-hour tour for myself on the first day that I arrived in Japan, while others I was spending the holiday with not arriving until the evening. Taka was a wonderful tour guide and helped me to forget my jet lag by giving such an engaging insight into Tokyo.
Ahead of the tour, Taka got in touch to relay all the details and confirm that he would meet at my hotel, which was really helpful. At the start of the tour, we had a chat about my interests and the sorts of things that I would like to see, and he adapted the tour around that - making it bespoke certainly helped make it feel even more worthwhile. As part of the trip to the Meiji Shrine, Taka was able to seamlessly weave in details of the history and culture of the place, with his own experiences, giving me a much greater understanding of both the shrine and the wider context in Tokyo culture. He gave me a tour down Takeshita Street, before showing me Ginza, which included a hidden view of the Tokyo skyline from above, and a history of Kabuki theatre. Akihabara was another place that I wanted to see, and he did a great job of showing me around some of the places he had spent time over the years and recommended.
Throughout all of the tour, Taka was engaging and informative. Additionally, he helped me to understand how to navigate around the metro (including what the mega stations with lots of walking were!), he took photos to help me remember various sights, and gave some good recommendations on places to eat (that were not touristy), both in Tokyo and in the other cities that I would be visiting in Japan.
As a solo traveller, the tour helped me not to waste the first day wandering around like a zombie, but actually make the most of seeing lots of parts of the wonderful city that is Tokyo. Taka is a great tour guide, and this is definitely a really worthwhile experience for anyone travelling to Tokyo wanting to know more about the city.

Come hungry! Lots of food - all delicious! Enjoyed walking through various areas between restaurants, with our guide telling us information along the way.

What an incredible experience? Our guide was so considerate and helpful with all of our needs, including mobility issues and helping us navigate all of the subway and train system of Tokyo. It was such a beautiful experience and a beautiful place. We are so thankful that we chose this tour.If you choose this tour, you can't go wrong.

Takanari runs a very thorough tour of Tokyo. We covered every area and attraction that locals frequent, which kept costs down while exposing us to common activities such as shopping for anime collectables and cards, and visiting shrines and gardens. We only had one day to visit so we obviously covered Shibuya Crossing and a few other areas that seemed to have large numbers of tourists. If I had a second day I’d tell him money is not an object, take us to the expensive elaborate gardens and up the coolest towers and buildings.

Taka was an awesome Guide. He knows Tokyo like the back of his hand. We visited Shibuya crossing, Meiji temple and Tekeshita Street and Taka took some beautiful pictures along the way. He helped us make dinner plans and even agreed to join us for dinner which was awesome. I highly recommend a tour with Taka, it saves time and you get to see the hidden gems which are only known by locals.

Taka was very friendly and he was happy to show us his beloved city. Since we had a limited amount of time, he was able to tailor our tour and maximize our time in this high-energy city.

We booked a walking tour with Mami, she was a perfect match for us,she spoke perfect English as she was American but knew Tokyo like the back of her hand!
She asked what was of interest and took us everywhere we wanted to go and then places we never thought of.
Nothing was too much trouble and we had a really enjoyable day in her company, would really recommend this lady.

Taka was our guide and he was extremely helpful. Excellent communication before arriving in Japan. Helped arrange dinner reservations after the tour. Very knowledgeable and accommodating for our group. We visited Meiji shrine, Takeshita street, Tsukiji fish market, Akihabara and Ueno park to see the cherry blossoms. Had excellent ramen lunch at his favorite restaurant. I highly recommend!

Mami is terrific! She customized the day to include our wishlist and added so much more. We wanted to use public transit so she taught us how to get around in Tokyo. Thank you again, Mami!

What a blessed day and amazing walking tour. I lucked out with Mami as my guide. She’s awesome fun and informative. Traveling solo and first time in Tokyo, I would’ve missed out on so much without her guidance. Highly recommend!

I had an excellent morning tour with Taka during a quick trip to Tokyo before heading to Osaka. He gave me a wonderful feel for the city, seamlessly blending historical landmarks with contemporary, culturally significant spots. What made the experience stand out was the context he provided — it wasn’t just about seeing the sites, but truly understanding the modern culture and how it connects to Tokyo’s past.
Taka quickly customized the itinerary so I could cover places that matched my interests within the limited time I had. His knowledge, flexibility, and thoughtful approach made the tour both insightful and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful introduction to Tokyo.

I booked an evening tour with Taka during a quick layover in Tokyo, and it was the best decision I could have made. His communication before the tour was excellent, making logistics and pick‑up effortless. Navigating the subway system alone would have been overwhelming, but Taka made it simple and enjoyable.
He is polite, courteous, and genuinely funny, which made the experience memorable. What stood out most was how he customized the tour to fit my preferences and limited time, giving me a fantastic overview of Tokyo’s highlights while also showing hidden gems I would never have found on my own.
For a first‑time visitor, this was the perfect way to experience the city. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Tokyo walking tour with great local insights. Highlights included Ueno Park, beautiful temples, and experiencing the anime and gaming districts. Finished with a brilliant ramen recommendation.

As it was our first time in Tokyo we decided to book this tour to maximise the best places to see.Plus to cut down on time getting lost and aimlessly going around and around in the metro stations. Satoshi-san contacted us via WhatsApp 48 hours prior to our tour day to get a feel of what we wanted to see and do. We were promptly met at our hotel entrance at 09:00 by a wonderful, polite, courteous, funny, handsome, and extremely knowledgeable guide. Satoshi-san is half American, half Japanese so conversed fluently in both languages. We started off by buying a 24 hour metro pass to get us around the many places we visited that day. This was well worth it at 900 yen as we would have spent at least 3 times this amount.Satoshi-san gave us a overview of where and what we would be doing that day. However he also dropped in some little hidden gems throughout the day that we would never have found ourselves. We had the most wonderful, relaxing, stress free day with Satoshi-san. His knowledge of the area , history, culture, and traditions was impressive. He introduced us to some of his friends and vendors in various markets. We tried all kinds of wonderful, produce whist wandering through the local market and after trying things made some purchases to take home. Spices, dry goods,,matcha tea, delicious nuts and fruits,we tried them all for free and all thanks to Satoshi-san. We stopped for a lovely coffee in the local market, and there was more than plenty opportunities for toilet breaks. We covered a lot of ground that day. Visited temples, gardens,Imperial Palace East garden, and so much more. Satoshi-san took us to a fantastic local small restaurant for lunch. He ordered various Japanese small plates of food for us all to share. Wow,the food was amazing and we were all smiling from ear to ear,the food was so good and the plates and bowls cleared.
After our lunch we carried on,and saw more hidden gems around district's we would never have found on our own. We had a wonderful day with Satoshi-san and as the day went on it felt like he had been a close friend for years.
Our day concluded at 17:00 and we had packed in so much in 8 hours. The tour far,far exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend this tour . Satoshi-san even went out of his way to conveniently leave us at a metro station close to our hotel. We left this tour happy and content in the knowledge that we had had the best day ever around Tokyo with Satoshi-san.

Taka is an eloquent, engaging young man who tailored our tour to exactly what we wanted. He clearly loves his city and country and gave us a fantastic insight into the culture and history of Japan and Tokyo. We would highly recommend him.

It was very relaxing, Taka took me to see many hidden gems which is what I wanted. I got to pray at a shrine and see the quiet side of Japan.
