Great experience for all ages! Special treat for fossil geeks like me! Really well maintained and some nice little treasures hidden in tucked away areas. Highly recommend!
William_R, Apr 2026
It is a huge 4 story museum with really nice historical artifacts. There will be a lot of kids so be prepared if you are trying to go there on a date. The only thing I did not like was the fact that you have to pay admissions again for certain exhibits that you want to check out that are inside of the museum after you purchase the general admissions one.

Excellent dinosaur exhibition. Eygptian exhibituon excellent. Talk on embalming brilliant insightful.
Abigial_F, Feb 2026
My friend and I gladly spent 6 hrs at the museum and didn’t see everything!! Well worth the price for just general admission!!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
The general admission alone can easily take the entire day to explore! We are so glad to hear of your time spent at the museum and hope you and your friend can visit us again soon.
Willie_H, Feb 2026
I didn't go due to issues with my hotel room and transportation. I will definitely try to see this attraction when I come back to Houston.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
We hope you get the chance to come again.

The museum was supposed to close at 6 pm on Dec 23,2025 but they closed at 3 pm to accommodate private party. We flew from Kentucky to visit this place and could not visit many exhibits. Signs are inadequate to guide visitors.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Apologies for the poor experience. Please reach out to me directly to make it right

There is a lot to see and it is very interactive. Using layout with lifts as adjoining buildings
Lots of additional parts with further cost
Response from Host, Feb 2026
The Museum is deceptively bigger than most expect. Once inside guests discover the permanent exhibit halls alone consist of vast galleries with in 4 floors. Thank you for visiting us and please come back.

Spend a day with your kids here and the 4 floors of adventures. We really enjoyed it. Gotta come back with the whole fam
Response from Host, Sept 2025
It is a fantastic place to spend with the family! So glad to read about your visit.

That it cost 30. dollars to park if you are non member. Lots for the kids to interact with and touch. Our four year old girls had a blast.

Once we arrived at the museum it took 20 minutes standing at the ticket window to find out that the tickets only covered the permanent exhibits of the museum and not all the additional attractions such as the King Tut exhibit, Extreme Animals Alive, Audubon’s Bird’s of America or Death By Natural Causes. After spending some time with the ticket window agent. We decided to do only the King Tut Exhibit which cost $ 78.00 above the original ticket price. I did not see anywhere on the Viator website that “Special Attractions” would be more.
I am a travel agent and use Viator to purchase tickets, tours, etc. for my clients. I am very disappointed in the service I received and the overall experience. After doing the museum, lunch and 1 special attraction it cost me over $ 210.00 to take my daughter and two grandchildren to the museum. This was supposed to be a birthday present for my daughter and a fun activity for my grandsons. I had no idea that it would cost more. Nowhere in the Viator website does it say anything about additional fees for special attractions. The ticket window person suggested that I cancel my Viator tickets and repurchase the tickets directly from the museum. I told the person that I could not cancel them. She did everything she could to help me out with asking if I was military, SNAP recipient or WIC recipient. She was trying to look for any discounts she could so the price would not be as much.

The ticket does not cover all attractions and it’s very large to get around overall a good and interesting day out
Nana_J, Apr 2025
I loveeeeeee the museum. It was self touring so you got to just go && loook around! It has a lot of different levels. I had fun!
Jemimah_O, Feb 2025
The museum was a great experience. I really enjoyed the paleontology exhibit. My first time at one and I loved it! I enjoyed the Illuminarium as well.
Melinda_R, Feb 2025
This museum is beautifully maintained! There are so many things to do and see inside! The dinasour exhibit was phenomenal;)
The only problem that should be noted up front is the school trips and days they usually come. There were so many unruly children running through the museum that we felt like we could not enjoy it.
Ana_N, Jan 2025
great, really loved to be there, good exhibitions, will definetly go again and recommend to other people

It was a great experience. My whole family enjoyed it. My baby girl enjoyed the shark exhibit the most and the gift shop was nice.
Marian_R, Oct 2024
The museum was great, better than I thought. Glad I went. Enjoyed especially the Egyptian exposition and King Tut.
Freddy_G, Sept 2024
A lot to see here. Four floors with several rooms on each floor. Only complaint is need to have tickets to include everything instead of special displays having additional charges. Also $30 parking is excessive.
Erin_G, Aug 2024
Was looking for something to do past cruise but before our astros game that evening. This was the perfect afternoon.
Martine_M, Aug 2024
Had a great time at this museum with my mom. There is so much to see even with the general tickets. I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and taking time to really enjoy each floor.
mickid915, Jul 2024
I highly recommend going to the Cockerel Butterfly Museum!!! It was magical! We also went to the Dinosaur exhibit and enjoyed seeing the fossils. A great day!
Abigail_A, Feb 2024
The most memorable parts of our experience was me seeing my husband enjoy it with a childlike spirit. He enjoyed it so much which made me enjoy it all the more. Our favorite encounter was the Sharks! We will be returning with memberships this next time. He is convinced to return.
Larry_S, Nov 2023
Loved the gem and mineral displays absolutely fantastic. Also love the fossil displays, very informative.
Gary_S, Oct 2023
The museum is outstanding. However, when I was dealing with the Viator sales rep, I asked if there was a senior rate (all 4 of us are over 65) and she said NO. Consequently, we paid the $100 ($25 per entry ticket). When we got to the Museum's ticket office, there was a pricing sign that showed SENIOR RATES of $16 (or $9 less per each of our 4 tickets).
I am extremely disappointed in how Viator and the rep handled this. I believe that I was "ripped off" for $36. Consequently, I will use other travel companies in the future.

Great experience in checking, using this app things are easy and very practical I think is going to be my favorite app
Samar_S, Aug 2023
Great museum to spend few hours at with the family, make sure to be there for more that 3 hours as there is plenty to explore.
Landon_H, Jul 2023
The museum was awesome, and these tickets were half the price of buying them directly from the museum. These tickets are just for a voucher, so you still need to wait in line at the museum to get your tickets, but a couple minutes is worth the convenience and price of getting them here.
Angela_O, Jul 2023
This was a wonderful and informational experience for my grandkids The facilities was clean and the workers were very helpful
Tracy_H, Jul 2023
Where being able to see the 🦕 with my grandkids. Just being with my Family. Amazing to see all the animals that lived millions of years ago. Finding out their history and why they were so important for our history to day.
Jayla_W, Jun 2023
Amazing museum with plenty of space, even though there were lots of visitors. The exhibits held the attention off all of my children, from a toddler to a teenager. Allow yourself plenty of time to see everything. The toddler needed a nap, which cut out trip short, and we hadn't seen everything in our three hour visit.
