A porter came to our hotel and brought us to the market to meet up with Badr. Badr was very informative concerning the ingredients we needed to buy for the cooking class. Fatima was a fantastic chef and Badr translated and also showed us how to prep the food. We made Tekktouka (roasted peppers), Zaalouk (roasted eggplant with cilantro), carrots with mashed garlic, and Keftka (meatballs in a tomato sauce). The food was delicious, and we learned so much about Moroccan cuisine. I highly recommend it.

This was an AMAZING experience! We were picked up at our riad and walked through the market to select our meat and vegetables. Then we were taken to the kitchen to taught how to cook tajine and other local dishes. Everyone was so friendly and spoke excellent English. The whole experience was relaxing and delicious!

It was so convenient to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel (Riad). We loved our guide Badr had fun picking out food in the local market while he explained things about the area. Cooking was great, he showed us some of his favorite songs and we showed him ours. Delicious meal, great company, felt very safe and taken care of!

This was a wonderful experience from driver picking up, to Badr showing us around the market, and the chef herself. The experience does take about 3.5hrs from pickup to shop, cook and eating. Both the guide and chef were patient and open to anything we wanted to try to eat and however much we did or did not want to do. Felt like we were in their home being taught how to cook by family.

It was easy and enjoyable from begin to end. It was very helpful to be picked up at our Riad for this experience. We arrived and went straight to the Medina to shop. It was informative and fun to shop in the Medina for our cooking needs with Badr. When we got to the Riad, we had tea and then we were shown what to do and got to work with Ms. Fatiha. We learned new ways to prepare vegetables (graded tomatoes). We made a chicken tajine and a few salads (carrot salad, Baba Ganoush, and Tchaktouka). We really enjoyed cooking with Fatiha and Badr. It was an intimate learning experience, as it was just my husband and I. The proof that she is both a good cook and teacher-the meal was fantastic! It was also straightforward enough to replicate. I’ll be making this and showing off at home! We highly recommend this experience!

Great activity in Fes!

This was a great experience for me and my husband. We were promptly picked up close to our riad by Mohammed and taken to the local grocery market where we met Badr who guided us the rest of the trip. Badr took us through the market and allowed us to pick the kinds of vegetables and fruits we would want in our tajine. We eventually made it to a cute riad close by where we began cooking with one of the chefs there. We had a chance to make the entire meal ourselves after some initial guidance. The food tasted amazing and it was really simple to do. I would highly recommend this activity.

Fun day in Fes

Mohammad was a good guide who spoke English well. It was our first day in Fes and he explained some history and recommended some local sights, as well as taking us to the Souk to get the fresh ingredients before heading to his Riad to do the cooking. The cook was friendly and Mohammed translated for us. We learnt to cook a tagine and salads which were all very delicious. He also sent us the recipes so we can cook them at home.

The hosts were amazing and were great with kids! Helping to choose the food before cooking it was a great, authentic experience and learning to cook traditional food was educational and delicious. Even the picky eater loved the food! I would do this again and absolutely recommend to others.

Perfect in every way. My son and I had a fun experience learning about culture and cooking and shopping in the market. Mohammed was a great and attentive and knowledgeable guide and we learned a lot and had great food. I couldn’t recommend this tour more. I am one of those that does way too much advance research into activities and this was a great experience.

Learning what was involved in making a real Moroccan lamb tagine. From being picked up at our Riad Zitouna by Mohammed and taken to the market to choose the meat, vegetables, spices and fruit for our meal to actually doing the preparation was fantastic. Can’t wait to recreate the lamb tagine and salads at home.

They picked us up at our Riad. Then we went with Mohamed to the market to buy everything we need. He let us choose the dish we wanted. Then we went to his riad to cook a beef tajin with prunes and three types of salads. It was an amazing experience, he is very kind and he didnt mind to answer all of our questions. The food was great and we learnt a lot about Moroccan cuisine. Totally reccomendable.

After reading such good reviews, myself and my wife were excited about taking this cooking class. Unfortunately, it didn't really hit the mark. Our guide was new (had been doing it for one week) so I did feel for him. However, I believe the training he received probably wasn't adequate. When we went through the market, we more or less watched him buy veg and meat with very little explanation about what was going on. Same when we started cooking - I had to ask questions as there was a lot of awkward silences. On top of that, there seemed to be a bit of misinformation regarding what was going in the dishes etc. This might have been due to a language barrier but all in all, I'd definitely expect more from a viator tour. Still waiting for the recipes to be sent to me 4 days after the class even after prompting him via whatsapp.

Moundir is an amazing guide! He picked us up at our Riad and then went to the market with us to buy the ingredients. The class had a very warm and relaxed atmosphere, we really enjoyed it. Moundir also helped us to buy sweets as a gift for a Moroccan family who had invited us later the same day. We can absolutely recommend this cooking class!

Nous avons eu la chance d’être les seuls à reservé et avons pu apprendre à réaliser un délicieux couscous à la marocaine comme nous l’avions choisi. Le guide et la cuisinière prennent bien le temps d’expliquer et sont très sympathiques! Prix un peu élevé mais qui se rentabilise vu le temps qui nous a été consacré. Merci encore pour ce moment.
