What are people saying about Hoi An

Take this class! Great way to learn about some Vietnamese cuisine and culture!
The cooking class is at Lily's local restaurant and house, offering a very chill countryside experience and a chance to learn how to make popular Vietnamese dishes. We made papaya salad, Vietnamese pancakes, pho and fried spring rolls. We took part in making most of it other than the pho broth which takes some time. The food turned out great and we had a good time chatting about how life is here. Definitely give this course a try while you are here!

Five star chef tour
Excellent experience and insight to traditional basket boats. Watching the fishing net being cast was amazing. Visiting a smaller local market was a great experience. Chef Hai Hai was interesting, informative and instructed us all well. A truely great experience and one I would highly recommend “Yes chef!”

authentic and fun experience with hosts who really care
What a fantastic and fun experience. Our hosts Lily and Blu made us feel so welcome. We visited a local farm and learnt about the traditional farming techniques. We then visited the local market to purchase fresh produce. Our guide Lily was very knowledgeable and explained all of the exotic fruits and vegetables. We had the opportunity to make 4 dishes which were extremely tasty. Lily and Blu made the experience so much fun. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!!!! We highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a personal and authentic experience

Personalized class with talented and funny chef
This was the first activity I booked for my trip and the first one I did when I arrived. Ho picked us up right on time and showed us around the market, which was very interesting as someone who buys everything in a grocery store in Houston, TX. Once we got to the cooking school we met Vina, the chef, who is absolutely charming and very good at what she does. We had the class to ourselves and got tons of attention and personal detail. She gave my husband nicknames which I can’t wait to use later to tease him with. We made fresh shrimp spring rolls, banh xio, lemongrass chicken (my favorite), and clay pot pork (my husbands favorite). I would definitely recommend this class and can’t wait to try these recipes when I get home!

Hailed as one of the country’s culinary capitals, Hoi An is the ideal place to master the basics of Central Vietnam’s distinctive cuisine, which fuses Southeast Asian and French styles. Sure, you could just feast on bahn mi and cao lau—but cooking classes in Hoi An teach you traditional Vietnamese cooking techniques and offer more insight into the local culinary culture than you’d get from dining at a restaurant alone. These classes often include a visit to a local market, a tour of a farm, and even a ride in a basket boat, for the ultimate epicurean experience.
