What are people saying about Fajardo

Fun!
This was a fun adventure. The bioluminescence was not great the night we went however the company was upfront about that and even offered a refund if we chose to cancel. We chose to go anyway and are glad we did. The kayaking is an adventure in itself. And when you make it into the lagoon it’s so peaceful. The guides made it fun. They offered to take pictures, showed us Venus and other stars, showed us a spider crab, & kept us entertained until it was dark enough to see the bioluminescence. My wife and daughter happened to be near Amaury as they rowed into the lagoon. He was funny and sarcastic and kept them encouraged and entertained. He gave instructions on how to row, change direction, and helpful tidbits. Even if you have some trouble with the strong currents and get stuck they will assist and may even “tow” you out. As they did for me. Thank you to Amaury, Javier, Yadiel, and Elay for making sure our group had fun and were kept safe. Catalina did amazing at welcoming us and keeping us informed about the check in process and offering us bug spray, holding car keys, etc. She made the process go very smooth and she is very kind and caring. I hope to see them all again and do this adventure next time I’m in Puerto Rico.

Bioluminescence Tour
There is no guarantee that there will be bioluminescence, because it's depends on many factors including rain, bacteria, and light pollution. We kayaked out through a mangrove for a km to get there where it was nice and dark. When we got there we were able to see a small amount. We can only imagine how neat it must look on a 10/10 night. Even though we only saw a little, it was still worth every penny. Our tour guides were nice and one let us hold a firefly (lightning bug) and we had good conversations. Shout-out to Eli, Javier, Amaury, and Catalina who were working that day. Great group of people!

We really enjoyed the night kayaking and were rewarded with some glow in the lagoon. We were warned that the glow was not as good right now but we chose to go anyway. No regrets. It was a fun adventure either way and we did get to see enough of the bioluminescence to make it all worth while.

10/10 highly recommend!
This was a great experience with respectable company! We were supposed to do the 8:45 tour and received a phone call earlier in the day letting us know that due to circumstances out of their control, the bay wasn’t glowing much. They offered a full refund or the ability to keep our time slot or switch to an earlier time to enjoy the sight of the mangroves. We really appreciated the heads up and ultimately decided on the 6:45 tour. The kayak out to the bay was beautiful and well worth the trip! As it got dark, they put us all under large tarps to try and see whatever bioluminescence we could. Unfortunately, kayak on my side of the cluster weren’t able to spot any, but my husband and son did. The journey back through the mangroves in the dark was also beautiful! I’m actually very happy we switched to the earlier time as we were able to experience the journey in both the light and the dark. We’re experienced kayakers (although going tandem was a whole new experience in itself) so I can’t speak much on this experience for new kayakers. We all still received a quick explanation on how to hold and move the paddles, turn, etc. There’s some minor current where you depart/return but not once you get into the mangroves or the bio bay. The beginners in the group seemed to do fine and the one couple that struggled with the heavier current upon return was towed in by one of the guides.
